• Avoid i stallatio of se sors i the vici ity of deformatio s a d pipe
defects, ear weldi g seams or where deposits could have accumu-
lated.
• Select a measuri g poi t with sufficie t straight pipe to obtai ac-
curate measureme ts. Please co sult the ma ual for the recom-
me ded dista ces from sources of disturba ce.
• For a horizo tal pipe, mou t the se sors o the side of the pipe. For
a vertical pipe, mou t the se sors at a locatio where the liquid
flows upwards (Pic. 1).
• Mou t the se sors i the directio of the flow (Pic. 2).
• Clea the pipe at the measureme t poi t. Remove loose pai t a d
rust with a wire brush or file.
• Apply coupli g paste to the face of the clamp-o se sors before
attachi g them to the pipe.
Select Setup Wiza d to set up the flow-
meter for measureme t. If the se sors
are recog ised, the serial umber will
be show . If ot, the type ca be selec-
ted.

Reflection Mode
The flowmeter uses a eve umber
of passes. This is the most co ve i-
e t mou ti g arra geme t, as the
tra sducer separatio dista ce ca
be measured very easily a d the
se sors ca be accurately alig ed.
Use whe ever possible (Pic. 3).
3. Reflec ion mode (from above)
Diagonal Mode
Sig al travels o a odd umber of
passes through the pipe. A si gle
pass ca be used for larger pipes
a d for dirty/aerated liquids where
greater sig al atte uatio ca occur.

Use the UP a d DOWN cursor keys to
select Quick Sta t a d co firm by
pressi g ENTER .

Measuremen Screen
The mai measureme t u it is dis-

ureme t scree . Press NEXT to see
up to three u its displayed with the
mai o e i the middle. Two further
measureme t u its ca be assig ed
to this scree by goi g to Main Menu
- Output - Display .
To aliser
The totaliser is show whe i meas-
ureme t mode after pressi g NEXT
twice. It ca also be assig ed to the
three li e display, datalogger or pro-
cess outputs by selecti g a qua tity
as the u it.
In ernal Da alogger
• The datalogger is reached via Main Menu - Output . It is activated
i Datalogge - Inte val by e teri g a d co firmi g a o -zero
value a d selecti g u its to be recorded.
• E ter "0" a d co firm to disable the logger. Up to te measu-
reme t u its ca be selected for loggi g u der Datalogge -
Selection .
• Use the cursor keys to highlight a u it a d press ENTER to select
it. Press "0" to deselect it.
• A activated datalogger is i dicated by a “docume t” symbol i
the top left cor er of the display. O start of measureme t (mea-
sureme t scree displayed) the logger records the selected mea-
sureme t u its.
• A bli ki g “docume t” symbol i dicates a recordi g datalogger.
Separatio markers are set by the datalogger whe ever a sesio
begi s.
• Leave the measureme t scree by pressi g ESC to stop recor-
di g.
• The recordi g i terval ca be cha ged i Datalogge - Inte val .
The datalogger is cleared usi g Datalogge - Log E ase .
E sure all required data has bee dow loaded.
Wall hickness gauge (WTG) (op ional)
Optio al se sor probes to measure
pipe wall thick ess are available. E -
sure the correct pipe material is se-
lected. Co ect to the se sor i put
a d select Sta t Measu ement .
• The totaliser fu ctio is started with QON whe i measureme t
mode (measureme t scree displayed). Pressi g Q+ resets the
total i positive flow directio . Pressi g Q- resets the total i
egative flow directio . The totaliser fu ctio ca be stopped
with QOFF .
• Pressi g QON agai will reset the positive, egative a d overall
totaliser. Cha ge displays without resetti g the totaliser by
pressi g DISP or NEXT .

Sensor Posi ioning Screen
• Mou t the tra sducers with the suggested spaci g betwee the
se sor heads. This dista ce has bee determi ed by the flowmeter
o the basis of the e tered parameters.
• Use the displayed umber of passes to i stall the se sors o the
correct side of the pipe (see pictures 3 a d 4).
• Observe the upper bar (sig al-to- oise ratio) a d lower bar (sig al
quality). These should be both filled to about the same level with a
filli g level of arou d 1/3 or more desired.
• Eve umber of passes: Both se sors o same side of pipe (see Pic. 3).
• Odd umber of passes: Se sors o opposite sides (see Pic. 4). Co -
firm with ENTER .

• Use the movi g mark betwee the two sig al bars for the fi e adjust
me t of the se sor positio . With correct pipe parameters e tered
a d the se sors mou ted at the suggested spaci g, the mark should
be ear the ce tral i dicatio li e (see three li es below the bottom
sig al bar).
• If the mark is to the left-ha d side of the ce tral i dicatio li e, the
se sors are too close to each other. If the mark is to the right, the se -
sors are too far apart. Slide o e se sor carefully alo g the pipe to
bri g the mark i to a more ce tral positio . Measureme ts ca be
obtai ed whe the mark is betwee the left a d right i dicatio
li e. Press ENTER to start measureme t.
