The tightnessof thecoarse focus knobhasbeen adjustedwhen the micro-
scope leavesfactory.If it istoo loose (the stage fallsautomatically), please
adjust the tension using thecoarseadjustmenttension knobbyturningcounter-
clockwise until it issuitable.
Condenser
Adjustthe centerand heightof thecondenser.Ithas been adjustedatasuit-
ableposition whenthe microscope leaves factory;the usermay notneed any
adjustment. Itcan be removed if you unscrewtheclampscrew.
The surface of thecondenser shouldbe 0.2mm lowerthan thestage surface
when the condenserraises toitsfull limit. Thecondenser can be moved up and
downbyrotatingthe focus knob ofcondenser.When using thehigh power
objectives, thecondenser shouldbe risen.When using thelowpower objec-
tives,the condensershouldbelowered.
Place theblue filterintothe holder, then insertintothe irisdiaphragm.To
remove,reverseprocess.
BULBREPLACEMENT
Beforereplacing the lamp, turnOFFthe power switchandunplugfromelec-
trical source.Pulllampdoordownandremove lampby pulling straightout of
socket.
When replacing the lamp,do nottouchthe glass of thebulbwithbarehands.
Wearglovesorkeep theprotectivecover on thebulbduringinstallation.Wipe
off anyfingerprintsusing clean cloth.
CAREANDMAINTENANCE
The T-2701isaprecision instrument.Routine or protective maintenance is
recommended. Never leave themicroscopewithany ofthe objectives or eye-
pieces removed.Always protectthe microscope withthedust cover when not in
use.
Cleaningthe Microscope
Dustisbestremovedwithasoft brushorsoft cloth. Morepersistent dirt, such
as fingerprints,grease and oil, may be removedwithsoft cottonorlens tissue,
lightlymoistened withlenscleaner.
Toclean immersion oiloff the oil-immersion type objective, use lens tissue,
soft cotton or gauzelightlymoistenedwithlens cleaner.
When the microscope isnot inuse, coveritupwithdust cover,andstoreina
dryplace notsubject tomold.

OPERATION
LampIllumination
Adjust thebrightness control switchtoachieve thedesired brightness. The
degree oflight intensitydepends onindividualconditionssuch asspecimen
contrast, objectivemagnification,individualeyesight, etc.Too littleor too much
light isnot recommended.Usuallydo not turnthelight tothe full brightness.
Thiscan shortenthe lifeofthe bulb.
Tocenter thelamp,loosenthe adjustmentscrewonthe bottomofthe pull
downdoor,centerthe imageoffilament inthe viewfield,then tighten theadjust-
mentscrewso as toobserveatthe optimumillumination.
Focus
Placeaspecimen slide onthe center ofstage.Using the4xor10Xobjective
and 10Xeyepiece, raisethe stage as high aspossible.
Slowlyrotatethe coarsefocusknobtolower the specimen whilelooking
thoughthe10Xeyepieces.Use thefinefocusknob toobtainasharpimage
when changing tootherobjectives,theT-2701objectivelensareparfocaland
will nottouchthe specimen slide.
