■Key Features
■PKT-23 offers 1.5 watts of power, providing a
coverage area up to 5 miles for direct radio-to-radio
communication.
■The built-in 1,430mAh Li-ion battery provides up
to 15 hours of use w/o an accessory and 17 hours
of use with an audio accessory.
■KSC-44K charges the battery full in 3 hours, but
the micro USB port also provides a conventional
way of charging utilizing your smart phone charger.

■Basic Operation
❶Power Switch
Hold for 2 seconds to turn the radio power ON and OFF.
Momentarily press while the radio is ON to see the Battery Level
Guide.
❷PTT Switch
Press and hold, then speak into the microphone to transmit.
❸UP/DOWN Keys
Press these keys to adjust the volume, change the channel, and
select options form the list in the self-programming mode.
❹Programmable Function Key #1
Press this key to activate/deactivate channel scan. Hold for 2
seconds to activate Super Lock-P function. Other functions can be
assigned from the function list. [refer to PF Key Assignment]
❺Programmable Function Key #2
Hold this key for 2 seconds to stop / start monitoring QT/DQT.
Another function can be assigned from the function list. [refer to PF
Key Assignment]
❻LED Indicator
Indicate various status/functions of the radio.
[RED] Transmitting, [GREEN] Receiving a call,
[Blinking BLUE] Standby, [Blinking RED] Low Battery
❼Voice Guide & Beep Tone
Notify various status/functions of the radio.

■Basic Operation

Operations (Volume Range 0 ~ 7)
1. Press Up key for volume Up.
2. Press Down key for volume Down.
Indications
1. Beeps according to volume level.
2. Max./Min. tone beeps at the limit.
Operations
1. Press PF2 Key.
2. Up/Down to scroll the channels.
3. Wait for 2 sec. until beep tones sound.
(the channel is set when the beep tones
sound)
Indications
1. Channel Number is announced.
2. Yellow LED blinks a number of times for
the current channel #.

Indications
1. Light blue LED flashes the number of
times for battery levels:

1. Press PF1 key to enable SCAN.
Indications
1. Single beep sounds.
2. Green LED blinks while SCAN is ON.
Operation (OFF)
1. Press PF1 key to disable SCAN.
Indications
1. Double beeps sound.
2. Green LED stops blinking.
Operations (Activate)
1. Hold PF1 Key for 4 sec. to activate Super
Lock-P
Indications
1. Single beep sounds.
Operations (Deactivate)
1. Turn the radio OFF, hold the PF2 key and
turn the radio ON. Once Yellow LED
lights, release the PF2 key.
The ONLY operations allowed in Super Lock-P mode
are PTT, Squelch Off, Monitor, Volume Up/Down, and
Power On/Off.

■Self Programming Mode
SELF PROGRAMMING
Mode Entry
1. Hold PWR + PF2 + UP to enter the mode.
Indications
1. Yellow LED lights.
2. Announces “Setup”
Operations
1. Use the [Up]/ [Down] keys to select the key
assignment from the table.
2. Press [PF1] to confirm the function chosen
to be assigned to [PF1] Press
OR
2. Hold [PF1] for 2 sec to confirm the function
chosen to be assigned to [PF1] Hold.
OR
2. Hold [PF2] for 2 sec to confirm the function
chosen to be assigned to [PF2] Hold.
3. Hold the [PTT] for 3 sec. Radio will store
the current configuration and confirmation
tone sounds and radio is reset and back to
normal operation.
4. To exit without save, hold [PWR] key.
Power off tone sounds and radio is off
without key function changes.

■Self Programming Mode
SELF PROGRAMMING
Mode Entry
1. Hold PWR + PTT + UP to enter the mode.
Indications
1. Yellow LED lights.
2. Announces “Self” + “Channel One”
Operations
1. Use the [Up], [Down] keys to select the
channel.
2. Confirm the channel by press [PTT]. Radio will
go to frequency setup after channel
confirmation mode.
3. Use the [Up], [Down] keys to select frequency
from the frequency table and table number will
be announced.
4. Press [PTT] to confirm the selected frequency,
radio will go on to QT/DQT setup mode. "QT"
will be announced in the QT/DQT setup mode.
5. Use the [Up], [Down] keys to select QT or
DQT setup mode. "QT" or "DQT" will be
announced when selected. Press [PTT] to
confirm the setup mode.
6. In the QT/DQT setup mode, select QT/DQT
from the QT/DQT table, and table number will
be announced.
7. Press [PTT] to confirm the table number.
Radio will go back to Channel select mode.
8. Repeat the step 1 to 7 to setup another
channel’s frequency & QT/DQT.
9. To save & exit, hold [PF2] + [PTT] for 3 sec., a
confirmation tone sounds and radio is reset
and back to normal operation mode.
10. To exit without save, press & hold [PWR].
Power off tone sounds and radio is off.

■Self Programming Mode
SELF PROGRAMMING
Mode Entry
1. Hold PWR + UP to enter the mode.
Indications
1. Yellow LED lights.
2. Announces “VOX”
Operations
1. Use [PF1] key to increase the vox gain level
and voice will announce the level (Total 5
level).
2. Use the [Up] & [Down] to select the channel to
configure the VOX per channel status
3. In the selected channel, press [PF2] to control
VOX ON/OFF of the channel.
4. To exit and save, hold [PTT] for 3 sec.,
confirmation tone sounds and radio is reset
and back to normal operation.
5. To exit without save, press & hold [PWR].
Power off tone sounds and radio is off.

■Self Programming Mode
SELF PROGRAMMING
Mode Entry
1. Hold PWR + PF2 + DOWN to enter the mode.
Indications
1. Yellow LED lights.
2. Announces “CLONE”
Operations
1. Use the [Up], [Down] keys to select clone
frequency from the Frequency Table. Table #
will be announced. (BRS Table: 99)
2. Set all the cloning radios (Master & Slaves) at
the same Frequency Table.
3. Press [PTT] of the Master Radio to start clone.
4. If clone is successful, the Slave radios will
beep once and go back to normal operation
mode.
5. If clone is unsuccessful, the Slave radios will
beep 3 times as an error indicator and stay in
clone mode.
6. The Master radio will beep once after cloning
(transmission) is completed and stay in clone
mode. To exit, hold [PWR]. Power off tone
sounds and radio is off.
*During cloning, the Master’s red LED is on during
transmission; the Slaves’ green LED are on when
start receiving the data.

Operations
1. Use the [Up], [Down] keys to select the
channel for the channel information.
Channel Information:
[Channel Table # + QT/DQT Table # + VOX*]
* If VOX is enabled
2. To exit, hold [PWR]. Power off tone sounds
and radio is off.

1. Hold PWR + PTT + UP + DOWN to enter
the mode.
Indications
1. Yellow LED lights.
Operations
1. Release all keys within 2 sec.
2. The radio will reset all default frequencies,
VOX function, VOX gain level & Key
Assignment settings.
3. Voice will announce "Confirm" after step 2
operation is completed.
4. Radio will reset and return to normal
operation.
