KP1003 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
UNPACKING
Unpack all the components from the box.
When unpacking the ventilation fan, carefully inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Check for
loose parts, missing parts or damaged parts.
Ensure all packaging material are disposed of as per your local council guide lines.
ASSEMBLY
The KP1003 Ventilation fan is shipped fully assembled.
INSTALLATION
Portable: The KP1003 is equipped with a carry handle (4) for portability.
The ventilation fan also has 4 rubber stablizing feet (7) mounted under the support legs (6). These rubber stablizing feet (7) are to
help keep the unit stable and prevent movement from vibration.
Permanent: If the ventilation fan will be mounted in a permanent location, the Ventilation fan can be installed with the motor in any
position, including vertical.
The rubber stablizing feet (7) should be removed before bolting the ventilation fan to the floor, wall, bench, dolly, etc.
Using a 14mm Spanner and 14mm Socket remove the bolt and nut fastening the rubber stablizing feet (7) to the support legs (6).
The ventilation fan should be bolted using 8mm bolts through the 4 holes in the support legs (6).
Note: Shims or rubber pads (not supplied) may be required to reduce vibration.

OPERATION
Caution: Prior to plugging in the unit into your power outlet ensure the ON/OFF switch (3) is in
the off position.
1. To turn the ventilator ON push the ON/OFF switch across as shown in (fig 1.)
2. To Turn the ventilation fan OFF push the ON/OFF switch (3) as shown in (fig 2.)
For Exhausting Contaminated Air:
If the ventilation fan will be used to exhaust contaminated air from a situation such as welding, the fumes
collected should be ducted to the outside of your work area or building. The ventilation fan must be
located as close as possible to both the operation and the outside of the building.
Note: A ventilation duct may be required for this type of application, fitting a ventilation duct will reduce
the airflow by about 5-15 CFM for every additional meter of hose or installed ducting (not included),
however KP1004 Ventilation duct can be purchased as an optional accessory.
Note: Each 90° change in air flow direction (as with an elbow) will reduce the airflow approximately
15-20 CFM.
KP1004 Ventilation Ducting (optional accessory not supplied)
The KP1004 ventilation ducting (5m) is designed to be attached to a 300mm portable ventilation fan
when required.
