3. Safety
There are risks associated with driving any vehicle. This electric unicycle is no exception to
the rule. Make sure you read and understand this manual before wheeling. While wheeling
pay extra attention to your surroundings and always think two steps ahead so you’ll be
prepared for any situation.
3.1 Important
•No sudden acceleration or deceleration.
•Stand up straight (never bend, always lean).
•Shift your weight to the front of your feet to accelerate and to the heels to decelerate.
•Do not use the Future Wheel in a situation where it can become a risk for you or others
around you.
•When the FutureWheel gives a low power warning (the battery indicator will also flash
between full/empty) please reduce your speed and get off to prevent accidents caused
by battery failure. Connect the charger/adapter to the battery until it is fully charged
again.
3.2 Safety precautions
Be careful of other unforeseeable risks that may occur during use. We can not be held
responsible for abuse of the wheel.
•Wear protective gear: helmet , knee pads , wrist guards and thick clothing.
of 4 9

•Always check the wheel before use to make sure that nothing is loose, damaged and
whether the battery has a full charge.
•Reduce speed near pedestrians and adjust to their speed. If it’s too busy get off and
carry your FutureWheel. Get on your wheel again when the situation is clear of risks.
•BEFORE lifting the wheel, make sure it’s off.
•Never place your hands on the tire when the wheel is on.
•Avoid highways, crowded sidewalks and busy roads to prevent unnecessary accidents.
•Avoid bumpy, unpaved roads when able and use extra caution around mud and
pebbles.
•Avoid wet and slippery roads. Stay clear of snow and frost.
•Do not drive on slopes that have an inclination of 15 degrees or more.
•Children below the age of 16 should always be supervised by an adult.
•Try to avoid extreme weight shifts. If the wheel can not adequately respond to the
power required for the sudden acceleration, the unicycle may turn off in order to protect
the battery.
4. Bluetooth music, Android application & Light-sense
Via Bluetooth you can use the four built-in high power speakers. You can use them as a horn
or to drive around with music. There is also an Android application that provides you with
detailed statistics concerning your FutureWheel. Moreover, the app allows you to calibrate the
pedals horizontally and adjust your driving mode.
4.1 Music on-the-go
Activate the bluetooth module by keeping the bluetooth touch button pressed for about as
second. The bluetooth on/off indicator will light up blue, indicating the bluetooth is activated.
When the blue bluetooth light indicator is on shortly press the bluetooth touch button again,
you will now hear a voice say "Power on".
Turn on the bluetooth on your mobile device and search/scan for 'King Song' to maken an
connection to the wheel. In case you need to enter a code, try 1234 or 0000. When
successfully connected you can play any audio/music from your mobile device through the
speakers on the wheel. You control the output volume with your mobile device.
Good to know, The Bluetooth music feature also works when the wheel is powered
off. If you then want to turn offthe speakers, you must touch and hold the lightbulb
button.

4.2 Android application
If all went according to plan, you received an Android app that can be installed according to
guidelines that are available on the internet. You don’t need to turn on the Bluetooth module
on the FutureWheel to connect to the Android app. Just press Connect to BT on your mobile
device. Wait a couple of seconds until the results appear. The first time you will need to enter
a code. This will be 1234 or 0000. Here’s a mock-up of the screens from the Android app.
4.2.1 Basic information
Users of an mobile device can view all the detailed information of their FutureWheel. The
temperature, mileage, speed, voltage and much more. This gives you a complete picture of
the status of your unicycle.
4.2.2 Driving modes
The driving mode refers to the response during acceleration and braking. If you are driving on
Aggressive, then you’ll find that the pedals remain tight horizontal. And when you accelerate,
the unicycle is quick to respond to weight shifts. This option is especially recommended
when you are taking steep slopes to prevent your pedals from touching the ground.
In addition there is also the Comfort and Soft mode . These are more suitable for long
distance drives and provide a less exhausting driving experience for your feet and legs.
Theoretically the unicycle can cover more distance on soft mode because there is less torque
needed compared to the Aggressive mode. You can get to the driving modes by swiping to
the left on the bottom where the basic information is located.
4.2.3 Horizontal calibration
Do you feel like the pedals are uncomfortable to your feet? Through Horizontal calibration you
can decide how the horizontal angle of the pedals are calibrated. Connection your app to
of 6 9

your FutureWheel as previously described. Hold on to your FutureWheel handlebar and then
press Horizontal calibration in your app. You’ll notice that the wheel no longer automatically
balances. Turn the machine off by holding the power button and place it upright with the
pedal in the position you’d like them to be (flat or slightly backward/forward). Now HOLD
DOWN the power button until you hear a continuous beep.
Power the FutureWheel on again and you will notice that the calibration was successful.
Should anything go wrong , repeat the steps above to recalibrate or contact our support via
4.3 Light-sense
When powering on the wheel, it automatically enters auto-light mode. The wheel will sense
when darkness falls and turns the front light on/off automatically (might flash when wheeling
by lanterns). The backlight is by default always on. To force the light off: turn on the wheel,
turn on the bluetooth module by a second long press (making the blue indicator light up) then
shortly press the light icon.
There is also a mode to turn the light on when the wheel is off. Turn your wheel of, now long
press the bluetooth button until the blue indicator lights up then shortly press the light icon to
turn the lights on/off. BY turning the wheel on and off again you can reset your settings to
automatic light sense again.*
*Tip: If for some reason the bluetooth indicator stays on, please long press the light icon (off
button).
You can adjust the light sensitivity by long pressing the bluetooth button so the blue indicator
lights up. Now simultaneously press and hold the light and bluetooth button. Here after you
can increase the sensitivity by pressing the light button and decrease the sensitivity of the
light sensor by pressing the bluetooth button.
5. Precautions and preparations
5.1 Safety belt
We advise beginners to use a safety belt. Attaching the safety belt to the handle of your
FutureWheel. Place one foot on the pedal and adjust the belt to your ideal length. When you
loose balance and jump off, hold the safety belt tightly to keep the wheel from running off on
it’s own. Just make sure you end up behind the unicycle when jumping off so the wheel can’t
do damager to your heels and shins.
5.2 Controlling your balance
The unicycle balances itself. It calculates the shifting of your weight via an algorithm and then
it supplies power to the wheel to keep the pedals in a horizontal position. This results in
accelerating when you shift your weight forward. If you keep your weight in the middle, you
of 7 9

remain constant driving. When you shift your weight back, you will slow down and you can
even drive backwards with a lot of practise.
Finding your balance for the left and right side is very much like driving a bike. You keep
balance by making use of the speed. When you’re wheeling slowly you’ll have to adjust more,
just like on a bike.
5.3 Preparations
•Find a safe spot where you can do no harm to yourself and your surrounding.
•Warm your body up and do some stretch exercises if need be.
•Where protective gear such as helmets / knee / wrist / elbow protectors.
•Check the battery level and do a visual and physical control of the unicycle for unsafe
conditions such as loose wiring, abnormal noise and / or friction of motor.
•Have somebody help/support you.
•Use the safety belt.
•Stay clear of sudden extreme acceleration and deceleration in prevention of motor
failure due to the Battery Management System shutting the wheel down to protect the
battery.

6. Battery and charging
6.1 Effect of temperature on the battery/distance
The power of the battery is related to the temperature ( Celsius). There will be a difference in
the distance of a fully charged battery under different temperature conditions.
6.2 Effect of weight one the battery/distance
These are factory specifications under ideal conditions with the person weighing 60 kilos.
With 10 degrees Celsius outside the Future Wheel travels a distance of 18 kilometers. Under
the same conditions, a person of 75 kilograms reaches approximately 14.4 kilometers ( 18km

* (75kg / 60kg) ). During this test drive the battery is completely drained. We always
discourage complete drains in practise due to the longevity of the battery life.
6.3 Charging
The device has a replaceable lithium battery so it’s easy to change the battery. If you own a
second battery you have the opportunity to ride on a full charge while the other is charging. If
both batteries are charged you have doubled your range. The possibilities are endless, you
determine the maximum travel distance.
Connect the adapter to the device before connecting it to the wall socket. Follow these
steps, it can prevent potential risks. It takes between 60 to 90 minutes to fully recharge. If the
red light turns green, the device is ready for use. We recommend that you wait until the wheel
is fully charged before you unplug the adapter. We also recommend storing the wheel with a
full battery and removing the battery from the shell in case of long storage (more than 2
months).
If the battery level is below 5%, the power indicator lights will flash and you will hear the wheel
beep. The front part of the pedals will gradually raise making it so you are forced to slow
down. This allows you to get off safely while looking for an electricity outlet.
7. Maintenance
Do not store the unicycle in a damp environment. Charge the battery at least once a month
to avoid getting a lazy battery.
Don’t clean the device with excessive water or any chemical composition.
Use an inflation tube / extension tube to pump up the wheel if you can not reach it.
8. Warranty
The supplied battery has a warranty of 6 months after purchase. If the battery is broken or
damage incurs through normal use within this time, you are entitled to repairs or a
replacement battery.
When the shell of the Future Wheel is opened by anyone other than an employee of
FutureWheel the warranty expires. Warranty is excluded if the device and/or battery do not
function properly because of abuse/misuse.
