important information for the use and safe operation of this machine. Failure to

main handle.

operator or the machine if used without dust bag and/or filters. DO NOT use
the machine without its proper dust bag and/or filters in place.
WARNING: DO NOT use the machine as a massager for your or any other
person’s body. It is extremely dangerous.
WARNING:
DO NOT clean by spraying water.
DO NOT immerse into water or moisture.
KEEP your machine clean.
KEEP your brushes or any accessories in good condition.
REPLACE any worn or damaged parts immediately.
ENSURE that the working area is clear of obstructions and/or people.
ENSURE that the working area is sufficiently illuminated to work well.
DANGER: Components used in packaging (ie, plastic bags) can be dangerous.
KEEP away from children and animals.
THE MANUFACTURER CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE for any
damage/injury caused to persons or property, because of the incorrect use of the
machine or due to procedures being used which are not specified in this
instruction manual.
SERVICE AND REPAIRS MUST BE carried out by qualified personnel
only. Replacement and or spare parts for the machine must be from the original
manufacturer only.

on a unit that is not properly disconnected from the power source. Disconnect
the power supply before attempting any maintenance or service.
THE USE OF THE MACHINE for anything not specified in this manual

TUBES AND ACCESSORIES should be kept away from the body, especially
delicate areas such as the eyes, ears and mouth.

machine without these filters properly installed. In proper use and lack of filters
may result in injury to the operator or damage to the machine and property.
DO NOT LEAVE the equipment unattended whilst in use.
SHOULD EXTENSION CABLE be used, ensure that the cable rating is
suitable for use with the equipment.
DANGER: When using the equipment always ensure that all necessary
precautions are taken to guarantee the safety of the operator and any other
person who may be affected. When necessary:
•use protective clothing such as safety glasses, gloves, non-slip
footwear, respiratory mask when working in dusty and/or
unventilated areas, ear protection.

les étiquettes sont collées ou fixées sur la machine. Demander à votre
distributeur de remettre toutes les étiquettes si celles-ci devaient manquer.

électriques au sec. Ranger toujours la machine dans un endroit sec.

la vie des personnes ou endommager la machine. Ne pas utiliser cette
machine comme un escabeau ou comme une chaise. Ne pas permettre

vous devez obligatoirement l’utiliser près d’ enfants. Ne pas permettre
qu’elle soit utilisée par des enfants.
DANGER : Déplacer ou modifier des parties de cette machine peut
causer des blessures et/ou des dommages. Tenir mains, pieds, cheveux,
doigts et toute partie du corps loin des ouvertures ou des parties de la
machine en mouvement.

utiliser la machine en position retournée. Faire attention à ce que eau ou
poussière dangereuse n’entre pas à l’intérieur de la machine.
DANGER : Ne pas utiliser la machine comme masseuse pour votre corps
ou pour le corps des autres, c’est dangereux !
DANGER : Vous pouvez provoquer un court-circuit si vous prenez ou
insérez la prise électrique avec les mains mouillées.
DANGER : Ne pas laver la machine avec un jet d’eau. Ne pas tremper la
machine dans l’eau ou dans d’autres liquides.
DANGER : Ne mettre aucun objet dans les fentes. Ne pas utiliser la
machine avec les fentes obturées. Tenir la machine libre de poussière,
cheveux et de tout autre chose qui peut réduire le flux d’air.

papier ou en plastique etc...) peuvent être dangereux. Tenir loin de la
portée des enfants et/ou des animaux.
ATTENTION: L'utilisation de la machine pour emplois autres que

responsabilité civile ou pénale
LE FABRIQUANT NE PEUT ETRE CONSIDERÉ
RESPONSABLE : en cas dommage causé à personne ou à propriété à
cause d’une utilisation non correcte et non autorisée de la machine.Toutes
utilisations différentes de celles indiquées sur le présent livret peut
constituer un danger, donc doit être évité. La machine ne doit pas être
utilisée pour des emplois qui ne sont pas indiqués dans le livret
d’instructions.
MANUTENTION ET RÉPARATIONS DOIVENT ÊTRE
EFFECTUÉES : seulement par un personnel qualifié. Les pièces qui
éventuellement doivent être changées doivent être remplacées seulement
par des pièces de rechange originales.Aucune responsabilité ne peut être
attribuée au fabriquant pour dommages éventuellement causés par des
machines avec pièces remplacées par des pièces de rechange non
originales.
DANGER : L’utilisation de la machine pour n’importe quel usage non

TUBES ET PARTIES ASPIRANTES : doivent être tenus loin du corps
et spècialement des oreilles,des yeux, de la bouche, du nez et autres

SI VOUS AVEZ BESOIN DE CABLES DE RALLONGE :
assurez-vous qe le câbre rajouté soit compatible avec la machine et
réglementaire.
NE PAS NETTOYER en vaporisant de l’eau.
NE PAS METTRE dans l’eau ou dans d’autres produits.
TENIR LA MACHINE propre.
TENIR les brosses et autres accessoires en bonne condition.
REMPLACER aussitôt toute partie endommagée.
ASSUREZ-VOUS que l’endroit où vous travaillez soit libre
d’obstructions et d’autres personnes.
ASSUREZ-VOUS que l’ambience de travail soit bien éclairée.
QUAND VOUS TRAVAILLEZ, PRENEZ LES PRECAUTIONS
NECESSAIRES POUR GARANTIR la sûreté de l’opérateur et de
toutes autres personnes qui peuvent être proches, par exemple :
-lavant ou nettoyant porter des chaussures qui ne glissent pas,
-ponçant utiliser des vêtements protectifs et lunettes de sûreté,
et des protections pour les oreilles.
- Nettoyant à sec utiliser un masque anti- poussière.

GEFAHR: Das Benutzen der Maschine in Nähe von Dämpfe oder leicht
entzündlichen Mitteln kann zu Explosionen führen. Die Maschine nie in Nähe
von Abgasen, Lösunsmitteln und anderer leicht entzündlichen Mitteln benutzen.
GEFAHR: Die Benutzun der Maschine bei geschäditen Elektrokabeln kann zu
Kurtzschluß Reaktinen führen. Die Elektrokabeln nicht zum transportieren oder
verschieben der Maschine benutzen Elektrokabeln von erwärmten Fleschen
fehrn halten. Nicht an Strom verbinden fals die Steckdose nicht der Norm
entsspricht oder nur dürch Kraft eineführt werden kann.
GEFAHR: Es könnten gefährliche Kurtzschluß Reaktionen bei Reparaturen
oder Wartung auftreten wenn die Maschine nicht korrekt vom Strom
ausgeschaltet ist. Maschine bevor Sie mit Reparaturen oder Wartunen anfanen
immer ausschalten.
WAHRNUNG: Das Arbeiten mit der Maschine ohne die Etikettatur, Gefahr
Symbole u.s.w. zu beachten kann zu Lebensgefahr führen. Bevor Sie mit das
Arbeiten anfangen alle Etiketten und Gefahrsymbole lesen und beachten.
Vergewissern Sie sich das alle Etiketten und Gefahrsymbole an der Maschine
angebracht wurden. Bestellen Sie die fehlenden Etiketten bei Ihrem Händler.
WAHRNUNG: Elektrokomponenten können eine Kurzschlußreaktion haben
falls sie mit Wasser oder Feuchtikeit in Verbindun kommen. Halten Sie die
Elektrokomponenten trocken. Maschine trocken lagern.
WAHRNUNG: Die Nützun der Maschine zum tragen oder Verschieben von
Gegenstände, könnte zu Schader an Personen und Maschine führen. Die
Maschine nicht als Stuhl oder Treppe benutzen. Nicht als Spielzeug benutzen,
falls Sie die Maschine in Nähe von Kindern benutzen, geben Sie besoders Acht.
Nicht von Kindern benutzen lassen.

benutzen wenn die Schlitze verstaut sind. Halte die Maschine frei von Stab,
Haare oder anderen Sachen die die Luftzufuhr reduzieren.
WAHRNUN: Schaden am Arbeiter können auftreten wenn man keine extra
Vorsichtsmaßnahmen genommen hat beim säubern von Treppen oder anderer
unemütlichen Zonen. Sein Sie besonders Wachsam wenn Sie Treppen, enge
oder ungemütliche Zonen säubern.
WAHRNUN: Materialen die für die Verpackun benutzt werden ( Tüten,
Plastikbeutel u.s.w.) können efährlich sein. Von Kindern und/oder Tiere fehrn
halten.
DER HERSTELLER KANN NICHT VERANTWORTLICH GEHALTEN
WERDEN bei Schaden an Personen oder Anderereigentum durch falschen oder
nicht genehmigten Nützung der Maschine. Die Maschine darf nicht für
Tätikeiten die nicht im Lehrbuch angeeben sind benutzt werden.
WARTUNG UND REPARATUREN DÜRFEN NUR dürch qualifiziertes
Personal vorgenommen werden. Ersatzteile die eventuell ausgetauscht werden
dürfen nur durch Originalteile ersätzt werden. Der Hersteller trägt keine
Verantwortun bei Schaden dürch die Maschine an der nicht original Ersatzteile
angebracht wurden.
GEFAHR: Jede Nützung der Maschine die in diesen Lehrbuch nicht angegeben

ISTRUZIONI PER LA SICUREZZA SPECIFICI
AVVERTIMENTO:
L’uso del propano richiede che specifiche precauzioni di
sicurezza siano comprese e seguite per un funzionamento sicuro.
Quanto riportato in seguito fornisce le basi dell’utilizzo del Propano. E’
tuttavia, fortemente raccomandato che i dipendenti e/o gli utilizzatori finali
che gestiscono macchine alimentate a Propano siano adeguatamente
addestrati su tutti gli aspetti legati alla sicurezza dell’utilizzo del Propano.
Il Datore di Lavoro deve assicurare ai propri dipendenti una formazione
CERTIFICATA all’utilizzo della Macchina al fine di garantire:
•Le informazioni e l’addestramento all’utilizzo della Macchina e ai
dispositivi che utilizzano il Propano;
•Una conoscenza degli standard raccomandati della National Fire
Protection Association (NFPA).
Per la formazione all’utilizzo dei dispositivi che utilizzano propano occorre fare
riferimento alle autorità di regolamentazione locali e alle prescrizioni NFPA
58, quest’ultimo consultabile dal sito www.NFPA.org
PERICOLO: Lavorare con questa macchina solo ed esclusivamente
all’esterno. E’ responsabilità dell’operatore, del proprietario della Macchina o
del responsabile dei lavori assicurare questa prescrizione. Lavorare in un
ambiente chiuso non ben ventilato potrebbe provocare malattie, infortunio o
morte da intossicazione dovuto all’esposizione a monossido di carbonio (CO).
PERICOLO: Queste Macchine emettono CO, il quale è un gas incolore e
inodore. I primi sintomi di esposizione a CO includono mal di testa,
sonnolenza, vertigini e nausea. Se si dovesse manifestare uno di questi
sintomi durante il funzionamento della Macchina, spegnere la Macchina e
andare fuori all’aria fresca. Fare testare le emissioni di CO da un tecnico
specializzato prima di utilizzare di nuovo la Macchina.
PERICOLO: Un’elevata o prolungata esposizione al CO può provocare
vomito, confusione, perdita di coscienza e debolezza muscolare. Se si
verificano tali sintomi, chiamare l’assistenza medica di emergenza. Se hai
sperimentato questi sintomi, NON utilizzare la macchina a propano fino a che
non sia intervenuta l’assistenza medica ed escluso possibili intossicazioni da
CO. Un’eccessiva esposizione a CO può provocare la morte.
PERICOLO: Il propano è un combustibile altamente infiammabile.
Se senti odore di propano (il gas viene odorizzato), effettuare le seguenti
operazioni:
1. Spegnere il motore: girare l'interruttore a chiave in posizione OFF. Non
toccare tutti gli interruttori elettrici;
2. Spegnere la valvola di servizio sulla bombola di propano.
3. Spostare la macchina in una zona esterna ben ventilata;
. Rimuovere la bombola di propano dalla macchina e portarla in una zona
all’esterno ben ventilata;
5. Se la bombola di propano perde, rivolgersi a una officina autorizzata DOT
per determinare la causa della perdita e per essere eventualmente riparata.
Non tentare di riparare la Bombola di propano.
Se si verifica un incendio mentre la macchina è in funzione eseguire le
seguenti operazioni:
1. Spegnere il motore: girare l'interruttore a chiave in posizione OFF;
2. Chiudere la valvola di servizio sulla bombola di propano se possibile. Fare
attenzione a non scottarsi;
3. Spostare la macchina in una zona esterna ben ventilata lontano da
materiali infiammabili;
. Non tentare di spegnere la fiamma dalla perdita di gas. Se lo fai, il gas si
accumula nella zona e potrebbe riaccendere la fiamma. Far morire il fuoco
chiudendo la fornitura di gas;
5. Far controllare la Macchina e la bombola di propano prima di riutilizzarlo.
NON utilizzare o permettere ad un’altra persona di utilizzare un innesco come
un accendino vicino alla macchina a Propano.
NON fumare vicino alla Macchina a Propano.
NON scaricare la bombola di propano dentro un edificio.
NON conservare le bombole di propano all’interno di edifici.
PERICOLO: Non conservare o utilizzare benzina o altri gas e liquidi
infiammabili in prossimità di questa Macchina.
PERICOLO: Questa macchina ha delle parti, compresi i dischi abrasivi, che
possono causare gravi lesioni se queste parti sono toccate mentre sono in
movimento.
NON venire a contatto con queste parti mentre sono in movimento con
nessuna parte del corpo o degli indumenti.
NON provare a cambiare gli utensili mentre la macchina è in funzione.
NON permettere ad altre persone di avvicinarsi alla macchina quando è in
funzione.
NON lasciare la macchina in funzione senza sorveglianza.
NON lasciare la macchina in un luogo in cui personale non autorizzato o non
addestrato potrebbe utilizzare la macchina.
NON mettere in funzione la macchina con il pad fuori centro, danneggiato o
mancante.
NON mettere in funzione la macchina con protezioni non garantite o scudi.
NON utilizzare la macchina se la macchina ha parti mobili.
PERICOLO: E’ vietato manomettere il motore. Tra gli atti che si presume
costituire manomissione sono annoverate le seguenti azioni:
-Manomissione del corpo farfallato e delle parti interne;
-Manomissione del sistema di accensione meccanica ed
elettronica;
-Manomissione delle candele;
-Manomissione degli elementi del filtro;
-Manomissione della testata;
-Manomissione del regolatore;
-Manomissione della valvola Fuel Lock-off;
-Manomissione del carter;
-Manomissione della camera di sfiato;
-Manomissione del tubo di aspirazione.

BOMBOLA DI PROPANO
Le bombole di propano sono costruiti in alluminio o in acciaio. Noi
consigliamo bombole di alluminio, perché sono più leggere e protetti contro la
ruggine. La bombola usata sulle Macchine è classificato come una bombola
E2 0. La capacità nominale è di 9,1 kg (20 lbs). Questa denominazione si
riferisce al modello di Bombola. La reale capacità di propano ottenuta
durante il riempimento può essere minore, uguale, o leggermente superiore a
9,1 kg (20 lbs).
La bombola di Propano usata sulla macchina è una bombola di combustibile
come indicato dal Dipartimento dei Trasporti.
A differenza della comune bombola di propano per grill all'aperto di 9,1 kg
(20 lbs), la bombola di propano per motori ha in esso una serie di sistemi di
sicurezza progettati per garantire la vostra sicurezza in ogni momento.
Ci sono due tipi di Bombole di combustibile per motore da 9,1 kg 20 (lbs).
• Bombole dai quali si pesca combustibile liquido
• Bombole dai quali si pesca combustibile in fase vapore
La bombola dalla quale si pesca combustibile liquido viene utilizzato su veicoli
di grandi dimensioni come i carrelli elevatori.
Queste macchine hanno sistemi di vaporizzazione speciali per consentire al
propano di passare da liquido a gas prima di essere bruciato nella camera di
combustione. La Bombola dalla quale si pesca combustibile in fase vapore
viene utilizzato su macchine di piccole dimensioni. Il vuoto generato dal
motore richiama il propano in fase vapore nell'impianto di alimentazione.
La macchina a propano dispone di un sistema di vaporizzazione. Questo
sistema preleva olio dal motore che viene fatto passare attraverso il
regolatore di pressione. L’olio cede calore al propano consentendo il
passaggio di stato in fase vapore all’interno del regolatore di pressione.
Questo permette l’utilizzo di bombole dai quali si pesca combustibile liquido.
RIFORNIMENTO DELLE BOMBOLE DI PROPANO
AVVERTIMENTO Bombole eccessivamente pieni possono danneggiare il
sistema di alimentazione e creare pericolo di incendio. NON riempire
eccessivamente i cilindri
AVVERTIMENTO: Le bombole di propano devono essere riempite
esclusivamente da rivenditori qualificati. Utilizzare solo Bombole con
riempimento di sicurezza che proteggono contro l’eccessivo riempimento di
combustibile con una unica valvola di blocco di sicurezza, che limita
automaticamente il contenuto al 80% della capacità. L’altro 20%, che è circa
10 cm dalla parte superiore del cilindro, è chiamato spazio di testa.
AVVERTIMENTO:
Se non c’è spazio di testa per consentire l’espansione del
carburante, la valvola di sicurezza si apre, rilasciando gas propano
nell’atmosfera che potrebbe di conseguenza venire a contatto con una fonte
di accensione. NON rilasciare propano all’interno di un edificio.
AVVERTIMENTO: La temperatura alla quale il propano liquido diventa gas è
di - °F (- 2°C). Esponendo la pelle non protetta a gas propano liquido può
causare lesioni dovute al congelamento. Indossare sempre i guanti quando si
riempie una bombola di metano.
CONSERVAZIONE DELLE BOMBOLE DI PROPANO
AVVERTIMENTO: Spegnere la bombola per fermare la macchina a propano.
Rimuovere la bombola di propano quando non in uso.
AVVERTIMENTO: Tutte le nuove bombole di propano devono essere ripulite
dall’aria prima dell’uso secondo le istruzioni del produttore. Le bombole non
devono essere azionate in luoghi chiusi.
AVVERTIMENTO: Quando non sono in uso, le bombole di propano devono
essere conservate all’esterno in posizione verticale, in un armadietto d’acciaio
situato in un luogo isolato. Questo mobile può essere situato accanto
all’edificio, ma con almeno cinque piedi (1,5 m) di spazio tra l’armadio e
l’apertura più vicina dell’edificio (porta o finestra).
AVVERTIMENTO: Non installare la bombola nei pressi di un ascensore o di
una scala perché, essendo il gas propano più pesante dell’aria, andrebbe
nella parte più bassa dell’edificio.
AVVERTIMENTO: Non conservare cilindri pieni o vuoti all’interno di un
edificio o all’interno di un veicolo. Non fumare o utilizzare un dispositivo con
una fiamma libera durante la manipolazione o il trasporto di bombole di
propano.
TRASPORTO DELLE BOMBOLE DI PROPANO
ATTENZIONE: Durante il trasporto delle bombole ad un concessionario di
propano o ad un posto di lavoro, assicurarsi che i cilindri siano fissati
saldamente e in piedi in posizione verticale con la valvola di servizio chiusa.
AVVERTIMENTO: Evitare di far cadere o sbattere le bombole contro oggetti
appuntiti. Una serie di sobbalzi potrebbe causare danni alle bombole.
AVVERTIMENTO: Ogni cilindro che è stato riempito è sempre considerato
completo, non importa quanto propano rimane in esso. Questo perché, anche
quando tutto il liquido è evaporato, c’è ancora del vapore propano residuo
nella bombola. Poiché questo carburante rimanente è infiammabile, una
bombola vuota dovrebbe essere trattata con le stesse accurate procedure
come una che stata riempita all’80% di propano liquido. L’unica volta che una
bombola è considerata vuota è quando è nuova, prima che sia stata riempita
di propano.

ATTENZIONE:
Per il trasporto, la bombola di propano deve essere rimossa
dalla macchina e fissata saldamente al veicolo. Le bombole devono essere
sempre fissate in posizione verticale.
AVVERTIMENTO: Modifiche o alterazioni sulla Macchina possono portare a
lesioni personali o danni alla macchina.
NON apportare modifiche o alterazioni non autorizzate sulla macchina.
AVVERTIMENTO: La marmitta e il motore diventano caldi mentre la
Macchina è in funzione, e rimangono caldi per un lungo periodo dopo che la
Macchina è stata spenta, causando gravi ustioni. NON toccare queste parti
della Macchina fino a quando non si sono raffreddati.
AVVERTIMENTO: Possono verificarsi lesioni agli occhi e al corpo durante
l’utilizzo della Macchina. Sono consigliati, durante il funzionamento della
Macchina, l’utilizzo di occhiali di sicurezza, scarpe di sicurezza e indumenti di
sicurezza.
AVVERTIMENTO: Una continua esposizione a un elevato livello di rumore
può causare perdita di udito. Utilizzare opportune protezioni mentre la
Macchina è in funzione.
AVVERTIMENTO: La vibrazione della Macchina può causare formicolio o
intorpidimento delle dita o delle mani. Sono raccomandati l’utilizzo di guanti
per ridurre l’effetto delle vibrazioni. Se il formicolio o l’intorpidimento persiste
spegnere la Macchina. Se la vibrazione della Macchina è causato da un
montaggio errato di utensili o di altre parti della Macchina, serrare o/e
regolare gli utensili o le varie parti prima di utilizzare nuovamente la
Macchina.
ATTENZIONE: Il filtro motore sporco può causare surriscaldamento.
Controllare e sostituire i filtri dell’aria secondo il programma di manutenzione
raccomandato.
A
TTENZIONE:
Il surriscaldamento può essere causato da un basso o
insufficiente livello dell’olio. Prima di usare la Macchina controllare il livello
dell’olio, e aggiungi o cambia l’olio se è necessario.
ATTENZIONE: NON sovralimentare MAI il motore con olio. Una
sovralimentazione di oli nel motore potrebbe danneggiarla irreparabilmente.
ATTENZIONE: il surriscaldamento del motore può essere provocato da
l’utilizzo di olio sporco. Controlla l’olio prima di ogni utilizzo della macchina e
cambia regolarmente l’olio in base al programma di manutenzione.
ATTENZIONE: NON insistere per più di 5 secondi sull’avviamento del
motore. Nel caso di mancato avviamento attendere 10 secondi prima dei
successivi tentativi, per consentire il raffreddamento.
ATTENZIONE: Effettuare gli interventi di manutenzione raccomandati. La
regolare manutenzione della Macchina è necessaria per mantenerlo in buone
condizioni di lavoro.
ATTENZIONE: NON utilizzare la Macchina se non sei stato addestrato e
autorizzato.
NON utilizzare la Macchina prima di aver letto e capito il manuale delle
operazioni.
NON utilizzare la Macchina in aree infiammabili o esplosivi.
ATTENZIONE: Prima di avviare la Macchina accertarsi che tutti i dispositivi di
sicurezza siano a posto e che funzionino correttamente.
ATTENZIONE: Quando usate la Macchina, rallentare su rampe e superfici
scivolose. Prestare attenzione durante il funzionamento in retromarcia della
Macchina.
ATTENZIONE: Quando effettuate la manutenzione, state lontani dalle parti in
movimento. Usare supporti di sollevamento che sosterranno il peso della
macchina. Non indossare abiti larghi quando si lavora sulla Macchina.
Scollegare i collegamenti con la Batteria prima di fare manutenzione sulla
Macchina. Indossare occhiali di protezione quando viene usato aria
compressa o acqua pressurizzata. Per i ricambi usare solo parti originali.
ATTENZIONE: Quando carico a scarico la macchina su o da un camion o un
rimorchio, spegnere la macchina. Utilizzare solo un camion o un rimorchio
che siano in grado di sostenere il peso della macchina durante il trasporto.
NON spingere la macchina su un camion o rimorchio a meno che l’altezza
del carico non sia a 380mm o meno da terra. Bloccare le ruote della
macchina durante il trasporto. Legare la macchina in modo sicuro sul camion
o rimorchio durante il trasporto.
ATTENZIONE: Controllare la macchina a causa di eventuali danni durante il
trasporto.

-in case di cura, ospedali, centri per l’infanzia, etc. che sono occupati;
-da personale non qualificato o non addestrato;
-senza un’appropriata manutenzione;
-su aree con ostacoli quali soglie, pavimenti con scatole di cablaggio, etc;
-nelle zone in cui i detriti o altri oggetti sono presenti;
-in aree senza un’opportuna ventilazione.
Questa macchina è realizzata per uso commerciale.
Questa macchina è progettata per lustrare la maggior parte dei moderni tipi di
piani tra cui piastrelle, pietra, marmo,terrazzo e alcuni pavimenti in legno.
ATTENZIONE: L’uso di macchine per la manutenzione del pavimento in
edifici frequentati dal pubblico, compresi i tempi in cui tali edifici sono occupati
dal pubblico, deve essere approvato dall’autorità competente.
AVVERTENZE:
L’operatore è responsabile per l’esecuzione della manutenzione giornaliera
raccomandata e dei controlli della macchina per mantenerla in buone
condizioni di lavoro. Controllare regolarmente la macchina seguendo le
informazioni contenute in questo manuale di manutenzione. Durante e dopo
l’operazione, eseguire le procedure raccomandate per ogni giorno e ogni ora
descritte nella tabella della manutenzione.
REQUISITI DI SICUREZZA CANADESI
1. Un cartello che indica “NON FUMARE” deve essere visualizzato in modo
permanente presso l’area di stoccaggio. Il segno deve essere conforme con
il segno richiesto nella clausola 10.12.3 di CAN/CGA-B1 9.2-M91, del codice
di installazione del propano.
2. Quando il cilindro è collegato alla macchina di manutenzione per superfici
pronto per l’uso, l’operatore non deve lasciare l’unità incustodita tranne che
per brevi periodi di tempo come fermate per il riposo, toilette o pasto.
3. I requisiti di 1.10.1(e) e (g) non si applicano negli edifici industriali.
. Una macchina di manutenzione per le superfici deve essere utilizzata in
edifici:
a. Provvisti di ventilazione meccanica continua che rimuove i prodotti della
combustione verso l’esterno di non meno di 300 CFM per ogni 10.000 BTU-hr
o frazione di esso.
b. Provvisti di ventilazione naturale non inferiore a 300 CFM per ciascun
ingresso 10000 BTU-hr o frazione di esso , sulla base di un massimo di
scambio di un quarto d’aria all’ora per il volume netto dell’edificio.
5. Il proprietario di una macchina per la manutenzione di superfici deve
garantire che l’operatore ha partecipato ad un corso autorizzato dal
costruttore della macchina sulla manipolazione sicura di propano ed il
funzionamento sicuro della macchina.
6. Il proprietario di una macchina di manutenzione delle superfici deve
assicurare che l’unità è mantenuta in conformità con le procedure di
manutenzione consigliate dal costruttore in una condizione di funzionamento
sicuro e il proprietario tiene un registro delle operazioni di manutenzione per
un periodo di due anni.
7. Prima di trasportare una macchina di manutenzione delle superfici, la
bombola deve essere fissata in modo sicuro con la valvola del sistema
chiuso, e il cilindro deve essere collocato in uno spazio ben ventilato.

APPENDICE 1: GLOSSARIO
RAPPORTO ARIA-CARBURANTE: La percentuale di aria combinata con la
percentuale di combustibile per rendere il gas combustibile. Se la miscela è
composta maggiormente da propano, è detta “ricca”. Se è composta
maggiormente da aria, è detta “magra”.
ARIA-AMBIENTE: [1] L’aria nell’ambiente dell’operatore o di altri. [2] L’aria
nella “zona di respirazione” dell’operatore.
CARB ( BORDO DI RISORSE DI ARIA DELLA CALIFORNIA): CARB ha
raccomandato e lo Stato della California ha approvato una legge che limita i
livelli di emissione per le macchine. Al momento questi sono i limiti più
restrittivi fissati da qualsiasi organizzazione di controllo.
CO (MONOSSIDO DI CARBONIO) : Il monossido di carbonio è un gas
incolore e inodore. Sostituisce l’ossigeno nel sangue. Il sangue quindi non
può fornire ossigeno alle cellule del corpo. I sintomi di avvelenamento da
monossido di carbonio sono mal di testa, vertigini e nausea. Può portare a
soffocamento e morte. I limiti OSHA per il CO sono 50ppm TWA.
MARMITTA CATALITICA: Marmitta contenente un catalizzatore per
promuovere la reazione necessaria per ridurre la CO, HC e NOx a livelli che
sono sicuri.
EPA (AGENZIA PER LA PROTEZIONE AMBIENTALE): Questa agenzia
federale ha il compito di far rispettare la legge federale per l’aria pulita, che si
applica alla qualità dell'aria esterna.
EMISSIONI: Quantità totale dei gas esausti da motori a combustione interna
durante l'esecuzione. 9 ,5% delle emissioni non sono tossici. 5,5% delle
emissioni sono tossici e sono composti da 0,1% di ossidi di azoto (NOx);
0,1% di idrocarburi (HC); 5.3% monossido di carbonio (CO).
HC (IDROCARBURI): Alcuni idrocarburi hanno un effetto narcotico. Alcuni
causano irritazione alle mucose. Alcuni potrebbero essere classificati come
cancerogeni. Altri reagiscono con NOx alla luce del sole formando smog, che
può irritare gli occhi e le vie respiratorie.
QUALITA’ DELL’ARIA INTERNA: La qualità dell'aria all'interno di sale o
edifici. La qualità dell'aria interna può essere degradata dalla presenza di
scarico del motore, polveri, gas di fognatura, aria condizionata contaminata,
cloro, cellulosa, odori trasformazione chimica, ect.
NOx (OSSIDO DI AZOTO): L’ossido di azoto forma smog e acidi, che sono
irritanti per le vie respiratorie e possono causare danni ai tessuti polmonari. Il
limite OSHA per NOx è di 25 ppm TWA.
OSHA (SICUREZZA SUL LAVORO E NORMATIVA SULLA SALUTE): Gli
ispettori OSHA sono responsabili del controllo della qualità generale dell’area
negli interni in cui sono impiegate persone.
LA QUALITA’ DELL’ARIA ESTERNA:
La qualità dell'aria esterna di
sale o
edifici. La qualità dell'aria esterna magari è degradata dalla presenza di
smog, gas di scarico da motori a combustione interna, ciminiere, sistemi di
riscaldamento domestico, ect.
SENSORE DELL’OSSIGENO: Un sensore posizionato nel flusso di scarico
che genera un segnale di uscita da una reazione elettrochimica che dipende
dalla concentrazione di ossigeno nel gas di scarico.
TWA (TEMPO MEDIO PONDERATO): L'esposizione media in un determinato
periodo. Esempio: il limite OSHA TWA per il CO è di 50 ppm di esposizione
per 8 ore continue. Il TWA è difficile da misurare ma può essere facilmente
calcolata dalla lettura del CO nell'aria dell’ambiente utilizzando la seguente
formula:
TWA= (173.6*C*D*R*N*T)/(A*H)
Dove C=%CO nell’ambiente; D = cilindrata in pollici cubici; R = giri del
motore durante il funzionamento; T = tempo di funzionamento in ore; A = area
del negozio in piedi quadrati; H = altezza del soffitto del negozio in piedi.
Esempio: Uno stabile ha 25 sq. Ft. di area ed un solaio di 10 ft. con la
ventilazione spenta e le porte chiuse. Un buffer di 30.1 pollici cubici,
alimentato da due cilindri a propano è usato per 2 ore ad una velocità del
motore di 3600rpm. La lettura del monossido di carbonio è 0.01% (100 ppm)
che è la media fra la lettura presa dopo la prima ora di funzionamento e
quella presa dopo la seconda ora di funzionamento.
TWA= 3.0 ppm, che è molto al di sotto del limite OSHA di 50 ppm.

APPENDICE 2: LINEE GUIDA SUGGERITE PER LE
MACCHINE PER LA PULIZIA DEL PAVIMENTO
ALIMENTATE DA PROPANO
SCOPO
Per garantire la sicurezza di tutte le persone che occupano o visitano gli
edifici in cui vengono utilizzate macchine per la pulizia delle superfici
alimentate da propano, le seguenti linee guida saranno seguite da tutti i
contraenti.
FORMAZIONE
•Tutti gli operatori di macchine per la pulizia di superfici alimentate da
propano saranno adeguatamente formati e certificati per l'uso sicuro di
macchine per la pulizia di superfici alimentate da propano. Essi sono tenuti ad
avere, personalmente, una scheda di certificazione valida che indica il tipo di
formazione che hanno completato con successo. Il datore di lavoro
(contraente) è responsabile della certificazione della formazione.
•Ogni persona impegnata nella installazione, riparazione o manutenzione di
un impianto di alimentazione del motore LP-Gas deve essere adeguatamente
formata e certificata per le procedure necessarie. (NFPA 58 8-1, )
SICUREZZA ANTINCENDIO
•una scheda di sicurezza (Material Safety Data Sheet) per il propano è
affissa in tutti gli edifici in cui verrà utilizzato il propano.
•Un armadietto ventilato con serratura metallica o cremagliera (gabbia), sarà
fornito e utilizzato per conservare i cilindri del combustibile all’esterno
secondo NFPA 58 5- .2.1 (b).
• Ogni cilindro di combustibile sarà controllato se è troppo pieno prima che
venga messo nell’edificio. Nessun cilindro pieno sarà messo nell’edificio.
•Tutti i cilindri di combustibile saranno conservati fuori nel gavone (gabbia)
quando non in uso. Assolutamente nessun cilindro di combustibile sarà
conservato all'interno dell'edificio. La macchina per la pulizia delle superfici
alimentata da propano può essere conservata nell'edificio quando non viene
utilizzata, ma il cilindro del combustibile deve essere rimosso dalla macchina
e immagazzinato fuori nella gabbia.
•Non più di due cilindri di combustibile saranno ammessi nell'edificio per ogni
macchina in uso in nessun momento (uno sulla macchina e uno se
l’equipaggio è bloccato e non può uscire fuori per una ricarica durante il
turno).
MACCHINE PER LA PULIZIA DI SUPERFICI ALIMENTATE DA PROPANO
•Saranno utilizzate solo macchine per la pulizia delle superfici alimentate da
propano elencate in UL. Quelle con solo un componente elencato non
possono essere utilizzate.
•Ogni macchina per la pulizia delle superfici alimentata da propano sarà
mantenuta in condizioni sicure per tutto il tempo. Per assicurare la conformità,
è richiesto quanto segue per ogni macchina per la pulizia delle superfici
alimentata da propano che
viene usata.
a
. Ogni macchina sarà soggetta a manutenzione ogni mese o dopo 100 ore
di lavoro.
b. Un 'record di manutenzione della macchina' sarà mantenuto su ogni
macchina mostrando:
- Numero di serie
- Servizio svolto
- Lettura conta-ore
- Condizione della macchina e del sistema di alimentazione
- PPM (parti per milione) di monossido di carbonio, come registrato nel
silenziatore di scarico o tubo di coda a pieno regime prima di qualsiasi
regolazione (LA LETTURA DI MONOSSIDO DI CARBONIO A QUESTO
PUNTO NON POTRA' MAI SUPERARE I 1500 PM).
•Una copia della "Macchina di manutenzione Record" di ciascuna macchina
utilizzata nella costruzione sarà registrata con il nome del responsabile della
costruzione. In caso contrario si potrebbe terminare il contratto.
•filtri per la polvere e dell'aria devono essere controllati e puliti prima di ogni
operazione della macchina. In nessun caso la macchina deve funzionare con
un filtro sporco o senza il filtro.

APPENDICE 3: LINEE GUIDA SUGGERITE
SICUREZZA IAQ (INDOOR AIR QUALITY)
1. Le macchine per la pulizia delle superfici alimentate da propano
non devono essere utilizzate in tutte le costruzioni a meno che il
sistema di ventilazione aria condizionata / riscaldamento non sia
in funzione.
2. Le lettura di monossido di carbonio nell’ambiente (a livello di
respirazione dell'operatore) durante il funzionamento della
macchina alimentata da propano verrà presa una volta al mese e
registrata su un registro fornito dal gestore dell'edificio / negozio.
Ogni sessione di test non deve essere inferiore a 60 secondi di
lunghezza e deve essere fatta durante il funzionamento della
macchina per la pulizia di superfici alimentata da propano nel
corso di un periodo di lavoro di routine.
3. Test a sorpresa periodici dell’aria presente nell’ambiente devono
essere effettuati dalla gestione degli edifici con un "data-logger"
progettato per leggere e registrare il monossido di carbonio in
ppm (parti per milione) a intervalli di 1 (uno) minuto con una
gamma di 0 a 1000 ppm. Ogni sessione di test non deve essere
inferiore a 15 minuti in lunghezza e deve essere fatta durante il
funzionamento della macchina per la pulizia delle superfici
alimentata da propano nel corso di un periodo di lavoro di
routine. Il campionamento dell'aria dovrebbe essere fatto nel
"range respiro" dell'operatore.
. Se non trovate nessuna lettura di monossido di carbonio nell'aria
dell’ambiente superiore a 2 ppm in nessun momento, sarà
necessario interrompere l'uso della macchina per la pulizia delle
superfici alimentata da propano fino a quando non viene fatta
una corretta manutenzione e la macchina viene certificata come
conforme con le linee guida.
REQUISITI APPARECCHIATURA DI COLLAUDO
Esiste un gran numero di strumenti offerti sul mercato per verificare gas
tossici. Solo coloro progettati per leggere monossido di carbonio derivante
dalla combustione del gas propano in un motore a combustione interna sono
considerati accettabili per la prova delle emissioni delle macchine per la
pulizia dei pavimenti alimentate da propano.
Alcuni strumenti sono utilizzati per leggere "aria ambiente" e possono essere
danneggiati se utilizzati per effettuare le letture nel tubo marmitta o la coda.
Selezionare lo strumento corretto è una parte importante per soddisfare le
esigenze del test.

SPECIFIC OPERATOR SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
the use of
propane
requires
that specific
safety precautions
are
understood and followed for safe operation.
The following provides the basics of using propane gas. It is, however,
strongly recommended that employees or users who run Propane-powered
machines are properly trained on all aspects related to safety of the propane
use .
The employer must ensure his employees a certified training use of the
machine in order to ensure:
• information and training for the use of propane machine and devices;
• to make all users aware of propane equipment recommended standards of
the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Training in the use of devices that use propane, refer to the local regulatory
authorities and with the requirements of NFPA 58, that can be consulted on
the website www.NFPA.org
DANGER: work with this machine only and exclusively outside. It is the
operator’s and or owner’s responsibility, or the project supervisor
to ensure this requirement. Working in an closed area not
well ventilated may cause illness, injury or death by poisoning due to
exposure to carbon monoxide (CO).
DANGER: these machines emit CO, which is a colorless, odorless gas. Early
symptoms of exposure to CO include headache, drowsiness, dizziness and
nausea. If any of these occur while operating the machine, switch off the
machine and go outside in the fresh air. Have the machine tested for CO
emissions by a specialist before using the machine again.
DANGER: high or prolonged exposure to CO can cause vomiting, confusion,
loss of consciousness and muscle weakness. If you
experience these symptoms, call the emergency medical assistance. If you
have experienced these symptoms, do not use the propane machine until
received medical care
and excluded possible CO poisoning. Excessive exposure to CO can cause
death.
DANGER: propane is a highly flammable fuel.
If you smell propane (propane is odorized), do the following:
1. Stop the engine: turn the key switch to the off position. Do not
touch any electrical switches
2. Shut off the service valve on the propane cylinder.
3. Move the floor machine to a well-ventilated area.
. Remove the cylinder from the machine and take it outside the building.
5. If the cylinder is leaking, contact a DOT approved repair shop to determine
the cause of the leak and have the shop, not you, repair it.
If a fire occurs while the machine is being operated
do the following:
1. Stop the engine: turn the key switch to the off position.
2. Shut off the service valve on the propane cylinder if possible. Be
careful not to get burned.
3. Move the machine outside if possible. If not possible, move it to a well-
ventilated area away from flammable materials.
. Do not attempt to extinguish the flame from a gas leak. If you do, the gas
will build up in the area and could re-ignite. Starve the fire by shutting off the
supply of gas.
5. Have the machine and cylinder inspected before using them again.
DO NOT operate or permit another person to use a trigger as a lighter near
the propane machine.
DO NOT smoke near the propane machine.
DO NOT unload the propane tank inside a building.
DO NOT store the propane tanks inside buildings.
DANGER: do not store or use gasoline or other flammable gases and
liquids near the machine.
DANGER: This machine has parts, including the pad assemblies, that can
cause severe injury if these parts are contacted while they are moving.
DO NOT allow any part of the body or clothing to come in contact with these
parts while they are moving.
DO NOT try to change attachments while the machine is running.
DO NOT allow other people to come near the machine while it is in operation.
DO NOT allow the machine to run unattended
DO NOT leave the machine in a place where unauthorized or untrained
personnel could use the machine.
DO NOT run the machine with the pad off center, damaged or missing.
DO NOT run machine with unsecured guards and shields.
DO NOT operate the machine if the machine has loose parts.
WARNING: it is forbidden to tamper with the engine. The following acts are
alleged to constitute tampering:
-tampering with the throttle body;
-tampering with magneto or electronic ignition system;
-tampering with spark plug;
-tampering with the filter elements;
-tampering with the warhead;
-tampering with the regulator;
-tampering with the Fuel valve Lock-off;
-tampering with the Crankcase;
-tampering with the breather chamber;
-tampering with the intake pipe.

PROPANE CYLINDERS
Propane cylinders are constructed of either aluminum or steel. We
recommend aluminum because it is lighter and guards against rusting. The
cylinder used on machines is classified as a E2 0 cylinder. It’s rated
capacity is 9,1 kg (20 lbs). and this designation refers to the model of the
cylinder. Actual propane capacity achieved during filling can be less than,
equal to, or slightly more than 9,1 kg (20 lbs).
The propane cylinder used on the machine is a motor fuel cylinder as listed
by the Department of Transportation. Unlike the common 20-lb propane
outdoor grill cylinders (which are not legal for use on propane buffers), the
motor fuel cylinder has a number of safety systems designed into it to ensure
your safety at all times.
There are two types of 20 lb. motor fuel cylinders.
• Liquid draw
• Vapor draw
The liquid draw cylinder is used on larger vehicles like forklifts.
These machines have special vaporizing carburetors to allow the propane to
change from a liquid to a gas before being burned in the combustion
chamber.
The vapor draw cylinder is used on small machines. The vacuum generated
by the engine draws up the propane gas vapor through the fuel system.
The propane machine has got a vaporizer system. This system takes oil from
the engine and passes it through the regulator. The oil adds heat to the
propane allowing it to vaporize liquid propane within the regulator. This allows
us to utilize a liquid cylinder.
REFUELING CYLINDERS
WARNING: Tanks overly full can damage the fuel system and create a fire
hazard. Do not overfill the tanks
WARNING: Propane cylinders should only be filled by qualified propane
dealers. Only use only safety fill cylinders that guard against overfilling with a
unique safety stop fill valve that automatically limits the content to 80%
capacity. The other 20%, which is about ” (10 cm) from the top of the
cylinder, is called the vapor space or headspace.
WARNING: If there is no headspace to allow for fuel expansion, the
pressure relief valve will open, releasing propane gas into the atmosphere.
This is a very dangerous and volatile situation as there is always the
possibility that enough of the vented gas could find its way down to the floor
and come in contact with a pilot light from a furnace, hot water heater, or
other source of ignition. DO NOT release or bleed propane inside a building.
WARNING: The boiling point, or temperature at which liquid propane changes
into a gas, is - º F (- 2º C). Exposing unprotected skin to propane gas or
liquid could result in frostbite injury. Always wear gloves when filling a
propane cylinder.
STORING CYLINDERS
WARNING: Turn off tank to stop propane machine. Remove propane tank
when not in use.
WARNING: All new cylinders should be vented and purged of air per
manufacturer’s instructions before use. Never bleed propane cylinders
indoors.
WARNING: When not in use, propane cylinders always should be stored
outside in an upright position in a secure, tamperproof, steel mesh storage
cabinet. This cabinet may be located next to the building but with at least five
feet (1.5 m) of space between the cabinet and the nearest building opening
(door or window).
WARNING: Do not install the cabinet near a stairway or street elevator as
vented propane gas will seek a lower level since it is heavier than air and
could find its way into the basement of the building.
WARNING: Do not store cylinders full or empty inside a building or inside a
vehicle. Do not smoke or use a device with an open flame when handling or
transporting propane cylinders.
TRANSPORTING CYLINDERS
WARNING: When transporting cylinders to a propane dealer or to a job, make
sure the cylinders are securely fastened and standing in an upright position
with the service valve closed.
WARNING: Avoid dropping or banging cylinders against sharp objects. The
propane cylinders are sturdily constructed but a series of hard jolts could
cause damage.
WARNING: Please note that any cylinder that has been filled is always
considered full, no matter how little propane gas remains in it. This is
because even when all liquid has evaporated into vapor there is still some
propane gas vapor left in the cylinder. Because this remaining fuel is
flammable, an empty cylinder should be treated with the same careful
procedures as one that is filled to the 80% level with liquid propane. The only
time that a cylinder is considered empty is when it is new, before it has been
filled with propane.

WARNING

For transportation, the propane cylinder
MUST be removed from
the machine and securely attached to the vehicle. The cylinders must always
be secured in an upright position.

various parts before using the machine again.
CAUTION: If the motor filter is dirty it can cause overheating. Check
and replace air filters according to the recommended maintenance schedule.
CAUTION: overheating can be caused by low or insufficient oil level. Before
using the machine, check the oil level, and add or change the oil if needed.

turn machine OFF. Only use a truck or trailer that will support the weight of
the machine to transport. DO NOT push the machine onto or off a truck or
trailer unless the load height is 15 in (380mm) or less from the ground. Block
machine wheels when transporting. Tie the machine down securely to truck or
trailer when transporting.
CAUTION: Check the machine for shipping damage.
CAUTION: These machines should not be used:
-in nursing homes, hospitals, day-care centers, etc. that are occupied;

-unless properly maintained and adjusted;
-on areas with obstructions such as thresholds, floor outlet boxes, etc. ;
-in areas where loose debris or other objects are present;
-in rooms and areas without proper ventilation.
This machine is designed to burnish most modern types of floors including
composition tile, stone, marble, terrazzo, resilient floor covering and some
coated wood floors.
CAUTION: The use of floor maintenance machines in buildings frequented by
the public, including the times when such buildings are occupied by the
public, shall require the approval of the authority having jurisdiction.
WARNING: The operator is responsible for performing the recommended
daily maintenance and checkups of the machine to keep it in good working
condition. Keep your machine regularly maintained by following the
maintenance information in this manual. During and after operation, perform
the recommended daily and hourly procedures outlined in the Maintenance
Chart.
CANADIAN SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
1. A sign indicating “NO SMOKING ” shall be permanently displayed
at the storage area. The sign shall be in accordance with the sign
required in Clause 10.12.3 of CAN/CGA-B1 9.2-M91, Propane
Installation Code.
2. When the cylinder is attached to the floor maintenance machine
for use, the operator shall not leave the unit unattended except
for short periods of time such as rest stops, washroom, or meal
stops.
3. The requirements of 1.10.1(e) and (g) do not apply in industrial
buildings.
. A floor maintenance machine shall only be used in buildings:
a. Provided with continuous mechanical ventilation that removes products of
combustion to the outdoors of not less that 300 CFM for each 10,000 BTU-hr
or fraction thereof.
b. Provided with natural ventilation of not less than 300 CFM for each 10,000
BTU-hr input or fraction thereof, based on a maximum of one-quarter-air
exchange per hour for the net building volume.
5. The owner of a floor maintenance machine shall ensure that the
operator has participated in a course authorized by the
manufacturer of the unit on the safe handling of propane and the
safe operation of the machine.
6. The owner of a floor maintenance machine shall ensure that the
unit is maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's
recommended maintenance procedures in a safe operating
condition and the owner shall maintain a record of the
maintenance for a period of two years.
7. Before transporting a floor maintenance machine, the cylinder
shall be securely fastened with the system valve closed, and the
cylinder shall be located in a well-ventilated space.
APPENDIX: GLOSSARY
AIR-FUEL RATIO: The % of air combined with the % of fuel to make the
combustible gas. If the mixture is heavy with propane it is termed “rich”. If it
is heavy with air it is said to be “lean”.
AMBIENT AIR: [1] The air in the environment of the operator and/or others.
[2] The air in the “breathing zone” of the operator.
CARB (CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCE BOARD): CARB has recommended
and the State of California has passed legislation that limits emission levels
for the outdoor power equipment industry. At present these are the most
restrictive limits set by any controlling organization.
CO (CARBON MONOXIDE): Carbon Monoxide is a colorless/odorless gas.
It replaces oxygen in the blood. The blood then cannot deliver oxygen to the
cells in the body. The symptoms of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning are
headaches, dizziness, and nausea. It can lead to asphyxiation and death.
The OSHA limits for CO are 50 ppm TWA.
CATALYTIC MUFFLER: Muffler containing a catalyst to promote the reaction
required to reduce the CO, HC and NOx to levels that are safe.
EPA (ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY): This federal agency is
charged with enforcing the federal clean air act, which applies to outdoor air
quality.
EXHAUST EMISSIONS: Total amount of gases exhausted from internal
combustion engines while running. 9 .5% of the emissions are non-toxic.
5.5% of the emissions are toxic and are composed of 0.1% Oxides of
Nitrogen (NOx); 0.1% Hydrocarbons (HC); 5.3% Carbon Monoxide (CO).
HC (HYDROCARBONS): Some Hydrocarbons have a narcotic effect. Some
cause irritation to mucous membranes. Some could be classified as cancer
causing. Others react with NOx in sunlight forming smog, which can irritate
the eyes and respiratory tract.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY: The quality of the air inside enclosures, (rooms or
buildings). Indoor air quality may be degraded by the presence of engine
exhaust, dust, sewer gases, contaminated air conditioning, chlorine, cellulose,
chemical processing odors, etc.
NOX (OXIDES OF NITROGEN): Oxides of Nitrogen forms smog and acids,
which are irritants to the respiratory system and can cause lung tissue
damage. The OSHA limit for NOx is 25 ppm TWA.

OSHA (OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY &HEALTH ACT): Inspectors for OSHA
are responsible for monitoring general air quality indoors where people are
employed.
OUTDOOR AIR QUALITY: The quality of air outside of enclosures. Outdoor
air quality maybe degraded by the presence of smog, exhaust from internal
combustion engines, factory smokestacks, home heating systems, etc.
OXYGEN SENSOR: A sensor placed in the exhaust stream which generates
an output signal from an electrochemical reaction that is dependent on the
concentration of oxygen in the exhaust.
TWA (TIME WEIGHTED AVERAGE): The average exposure over a specified
period. EXAMPLE: OSHA TWA limit for CO is 50 ppm exposure for 8
continuous hours.
TWA is difficult to measure but can be easily calculated from the CO reading
in ambient air using the following formula: TWA = 173.6 x C x D x R x N x T A
x H
Where C = % CO in ambient air; D = engine size in cubic inches; R = engine
RPM while operating; N = number of cylinders; T = operating time in hours;
A = area of store in square feet; H = ceiling height of store in feet.
Example: A store has 25,000 sq. ft. area and 10foot ceilings with the
ventilation turned off and doors closed. A 30.1 cubic inch, 2 cylinder propane
powered buffer is used for 2 hours at 3600 rpm engine speed. The CO
reading is 0.01% (100 ppm) which is the average of the reading taken after
the first hour of operation and that taken after the second hour of operation.
TWA = 3.0 ppm, which is far below the 50 ppm OSHA limit.
APPENDIX
: SUGGESTED GUIDELINES FOR
PROPANE POWERED FLOOR CARE MACHINES
PURPOSE
To ensure the safety of all persons occupying or visiting buildings in which
propane powered floor care machines are being used to maintain floors, the
following guidelines will be followed by all floor care contractors.
TRAINING
1. All operators of propane powered floorcare machines will be properly
trained and certified in the safe operation of propane powered floor care
machines. They are required to have, on their person, a valid certification
card indicating what training they have successfully completed. The employer
(contractor) is responsible for documenting training.
2. Each person engaged in installing, repairing, or servicing an LP-Gas
engine fuel system shall be properly trained and certified for the necessary
procedures. (NFPA 58 8-1. )
FIRE SAFETY
1. An MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for propane shall be posted in all
buildings where propane will be used.
2. A lockable ventilated metal locker or rack (cage), will be supplied and used
to store fuel cylinders outside in accordance with NFPA 58 5- .2.1(b).
3. Each fuel cylinder will be checked for “over-fill” before it is taken into the
building. NO overfilled cylinders will be taken into the building.
. All fuel cylinders will be stored OUTSIDE in the storage locker(cage) when
not in use. Absolutely no fuel cylinders will be stored inside the building. The
propane powered floor care machine may be kept in the building when not
being used but the fuel cylinder MUST be removed from the machine and
stored outside in the cage.
5. No more than two fuel cylinders will be allowed in the building for each
machine being used at any time (one on the machine and one if the crew is
“locked in” and cannot get outside for a refill during their shift).
PROPANE POWERED FLOOR CARE MACHINES
1.Only UL listed propane powered floor care machines will be used. Those
with component listing only will NOT be allowed.
2. Each propane powered floor care machine will be maintained in a “Safe”
condition at all times. To assure compliance, the following is required of each
propane powered floor care machine used.
a. Each machine will be services monthly or after every 100 hours of use.
b. A “Machine Maintenance Record” will be kept on each machine showing:
• Serial number
• Service performed
• Hour meter reading
• Condition of the machine and fuel system
• PPM (parts per million) of carbon monoxide as recorded IN the exhaust
muffler or tail pipe at full throttle before any adjustments have been made.
• PPM of carbon monoxide as recorded IN the muffler or tail pipe at full
throttle after any adjustments have been made (CARBON MONOXIDE
READINGS AT THIS POINT WILL NEVER EXCEED 1500 PPM).
3. One copy of the “Machine Maintenance Record” of each machine used in
the building will be filled with the Manager of the Building/Store. Failure to do
this could terminate the contract.
. Dust and air filters must be inspected and cleaned before each operation of
the machine. At no time is the machine to be operated with a dirty filter or
without the filter in place.

APPENDIX: SUGGESTED GUIDELINES FOR
PROPANE POWERED FLOOR CARE MACHINES
SAFETY IAQ (INDOOR AIR QUALITY)
1. Propane powered floor care machines are not to be operated in any
buildings unless the air conditioning/heating ventilation system is in operation.
2. Carbon monoxide readings of ambient air (at the operator’s breathing
level) while operating the propane powered floor care machine will be taken
once each month and recorded on a logbook provided by the building/store
manager. Each test session shall be no less than 60 seconds in length and
shall be done while operating the propane powered floor care machine during
a routine work period.
3. Periodic, unannounced tests of ambient air should be made by the building
management with a “Data-Logger” designed to read and log the carbon
monoxide in ppm (parts per million) at 1 (one) minute intervals with a range of
0 to 1000 ppm. Each test session shall be no less than 15 minutes ini length
and shall be done while operating the propane powered floor care machine
during a routine work period. Air sampling should be done in the “breathing
range” of the operator.
. If find any readings of ambient air carbon monoxide greater than 2 ppm at
any time it will be necessary to discontinue the use of the propane powered
floor care machine until it has been properly serviced and certified as
complying with the guidelines.
TESTING EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
There is a great number of instruments offered on the market to test for toxic
gases. Only those designed to read carbon monoxide resulting from
combustion of propane gas in an internal combustion engine are considered
acceptable for testing exhaust emissions from propane powered floor care
machines.
Some instruments are used to read “ambient air” and may be damaged if
used to take readings in the muffler or tail pipe. Selecting the proper
instrument is an important part of meeting the testing requirements.

Queste Bombole sono classificate UL. Inoltre le Bombole in acciaio sodisfano le specifiche Europee e sono conformi alla Normativa CE.
Il corretto riempimento delle bombole di propano è un argomento così importante che merita particolare attenzione. Le bombole di propano devono essere
riempiti esclusivamente da rivenditori qualificati di propano.
La cosa più importante è che le bombole di propano vanno riempiti non più del 80% della loro capacità nominale. Il restante 20%, che è di circa "(10 cm) dalla
parte superiore del cilindro, viene chiamato spazio vapore o spazio di testa. Questo vapore può essere compresso senza causare l’apertura della valvola
limitatrice di pressione e quindi sfogare il gas nell'area intorno al cilindro. Se non c'è spazio di testa per consentire l'espansione del carburante, la valvola di
sicurezza si apre, rilasciando il gas propano nell'atmosfera. Questa è una situazione molto pericolosa perché c'è sempre la possibilità che una sufficiente
quantità di gas scaricato potrebbe cadere sul pavimento ed entrare in contatto con una fiamma pilota di un forno, scaldabagno, o altra fonte di accensione.
Indossare sempre i guanti quando si riempie una bombola di propano. Il punto di ebollizione, o la temperatura alla quale il propano liquido passa in fase vapore
è di - º F (- 2º C). Esporre la pelle non protetta a propano liquido o gassoso può causare lesioni da congelamento.
Per tutti i nuovi cilindri, vedere le istruzioni per l’uso del produttore prima di utilizzare le bombole.
AVVERTIMENTO: Il riempimento delle Bombole deve essere fatto SOLO da un Fornitore di Propano Qualificato.
AVVERTIMENTO: RIEMPIRE LA BOMBOLA ATTRAVERSO LA VALVOLA DI SERVIZIO.
AVVERTIMENTO: Una Bombola riempita correttamente NON deve superare 80% della Capacità nominale.
ATTENZIONE: NON tentare di riparare la Bombola di Propano. Rimanda la Bombola di Propano al tuo Fornitore se necessita di riparazione.
ATTENZIONE: Si prega di notare che i regolamenti vietano il trasporto e le spedizione delle Bombole dopo che sono state riempite di Propano.

ATTEZNZIONE: Questa Macchina usa Vapore prelevato dalla bombola. NON alimentare il motore con il Propano in fase liquida.
L’utilizzo di propano liquido in un sistema di alimentazione a Vapore potrebbe congelare il regolatore e creare pericolo di incendio.
