1.0 CAUTION
1.1 When device is in use, do not look directly into the laser beam-
permanent eye damage may result.
1.2 Use extreme caution when operating the laser.
1.3 Never point the device towards anyone’s eyes.
1.4 Keep out of reach of children.

2.0 STORAGE AND CLEANING
2.1 It should be stored at room temperature.
2.2 Keep sensor lens clean at all times.
2.3 Take care when cleaning the lens using only a soft cloth or cotton
swab with water or medical alcohol.

.4 Allow lens to fully dry before using the thermometer.
2.5 Do
not submerge any part of the thermometer.
3.0 MALFUNCTION INDICATORS
3.1 The thermometer incorporates visual diagnostic messages:
3.2 ‘HI’ or ‘LO’ is displayed when the temperature being measured is
outside of the settings of HAL and LAL
3.3 ‘Er2’ is displayed when the thermometer is exposed to rapid
changes in the ambient temperature
3.4 ‘Er3’ is displayed when the ambient temperature exceeds 0°C
or +50°C. The thermometer should be allowed plenty of time
(minimum 30 minutes) to stabalise to the working/room
temperature.

3.5 Error 5~9, for all other error messages it is necessary to reset the
thermometer. To reset the thermometer, turn the instrument off,
remove the battery and wait a minimum of one minute, reinsert the
battery and turn on. If the error message remains please contact
the Service Department for further assistance.
4.0 BATTERIES
4.1 The thermometer incorporates visual low battery indication as follows:

4.3 BATTERY REPLACEMENT
•Pull out the rubber gasket
•Loosen the screw and pull out the battery cover
•Replace and reinstall with new batteries
•Place the battery cover back and fasten the screw
•Plug the rubber gasket to avoid failure of water proof
When the ‘Low battery’ icon indicates the battery is low, the
battery should be replaced immediately with AAA, 1.5V batteries.
Please note: It is important to turn instrument off before replacing
the battery otherwise the thermometer may malfunction.
Dispose of used battery promptly and keep away from children.

Note: Under the electromagnetic field of 3V/m from 200
to 700 MHz, the maximum error is 5°C. The
thermometer will automatically shut off if left idle
for more than 15 seconds.
EMC/RFI: Readings may be affected if the unit is operated within radio
frequency electromagnetic field of strength of approximately 3 volts per
meter, but performance of the instrument will not be permanently
affected.
6.0 SERVICE
6.1 For service and repairs please send the unit to the address below in the
box provided for your use. DO NOT attempt to open the case. The
instrument contains delicate electronic components and opening the
case may invalidate your warranty.
7.0 CALIBRATION
7.1 In order to guarantee optimum precision, we recommend that this
instrument should be calibrated each year.
7.2 Klipspringer will automatically notify you of the due date for calibration.
7.3 The thermometer will be returned within one week accompanied by a
certificate of calibration.

7.4 Klipspringer is a UKAS accredited laboratory for temperature calibration
(0764) in accordance with BS EN ISO/IEC 17025. This service is
provided to cover almost any probe hand-held thermometer currently in
use.
8.0 ASSURANCE
8.1 With considerate use and Klipspringer’s support, this unit will give years
of accurate service.
