ALTERNA
KITCHEN SINK FAUCET
INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions
withoutnoticeinthedesignoffaucets,asspecified
in the Price Book.
NOTES
The valves installed in this faucet operate as
follows: a one-quarter turn clockwise closes the
hot valve, and a similar counterclockwise turn
closes the cold valve.
If supply tubes must be cut, ensure to allow for
required penetration into shut-off valve.
Shut off main water supply.
Observe all local plumbing codes.
Carefully inspect waste and supply tubing for any
sign of damage. Replace if necessary.
FOR NEW INSTALLATIONS
Assemble faucet and drain to kitchen sink before
installing kitchen sink.

SPOUT/HANDSPRAY INSTALLATION

escutcheon onto       
      . Thread the
spoutfullyontoshankuntilitstops.Threadescutcheonup
until it stops.
     ecure  to sink
Apply plumbers putty or other sealant to underside of
spray holder according to the putty manufacturer’s
instruction. Then place through sink. From under sink,
securelyhand-tightennut.Inserthandsprayhosethrough
spray holder and attach hose to  tee.

VALVE BODY/TEE INSTALLATION
Attach hose to each valve body and tighten. Slide gasket
over top of valve body, and thread on the escutcheon.
Place valve body assembly through sink with hot valve
(marked red) on left side and secure with washer and nut.
Connect hose to shank tee and tighten. Repeat for cold
valve.

HANDLE INSTALLATION
Rotate valve stem to closed position and slide spline
adapter over valve stem.
Unthreadoutershellfromskirtassembly,byfirmlyholding
outer shell and turning skirt assembly clockwise.
Remove insert from rubber holder in skirt assembly.
Fasten skirt assembly to valve stem with screw.
Snap insert into rubber holder in skirt assembly.
Thread outer shell onto skirt assembly, by firmly holding
outer shell and turning skirt assembly counterclockwise. Skirt Assembly

SUPPLY INSTALLATION
If kitchen sink is not installed, install at this time.
Ground joint: slip nut onto supply tube. Carefully position
round end of supply tube squarely to valve inlet and
supply stop. Tighten all nuts. Valve Inlet

INSTALLATION CHECKOUT
Ensure both faucet valves are turned off (hot = clockwise
close), (cold = counterclockwise close).
Turn on main water supply and check for leaks. Remove
Swinger. Turn on hot and cold faucet handles and run
water for about a minute to remove any debris. Check for
leaks at this time. Turn faucet handles off and reattach
Swinger.Swinger
