Tools and Materials
Before You Begin
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Shut off the main water supply.
Provide an access panel for all installations.
Use 5/8″nominal tubing (3/4″O.D.) from the supply to the valve
inlets.
Install water hammer arresters in the supply line.

1. Component Layout
Verify the location of the components, and the orientation of all
ports.
Decide in advance on the location and orientation of the diverter.
The location of the shower, and the handshower, as well as the
direction in which the inlets/outlets point, will affect the piping
and connectors needed.
Allow clearance for valve outlets, handles, bath spout, and
handshower hoses.

2. Install the Diverter
Unthread and remove both elbow assemblies from the diverter.
Set aside the elbow assemblies.
Slide the washer over the diverter body.
Insert the washer up into the groove on the underside of housing.
Insert the diverter body into the mounting hole.
Rotate the diverter so the hose guide faces toward the front.
From the underside of the diverter, thread one mounting stud
into each mounting stud hole. Securely tighten.
Position the bracket onto the mounting studs and diverter.
While holding the bracket in place, thread a nut onto each
mounting stud.
Securely tighten the nuts until the bracket and diverter are snug
against the underside of the bath or finished deck.
Thread the three-way elbow assembly back into the lower
diverter port. The lower diverter port is marked by an arrow
pointing in.
Thread the elbow assembly back into the upper diverter port. The
upper diverter port is marked by an arrow pointing out.

3. Install the Handle Valve
Thread one mounting nut with the flange side up, down each
″Cold″and ″Hot″handle valve.
Slide one fiber washer and one rubber washer down each ″Cold″
and ″Hot″handle valve and onto the mounting nut.
Insert one washer up into the groove on the underside of the
escutcheon.
NOTE: Handle valves that are marked ″Cold″must always be
installed into the mounting hole on the right as viewed from the
front of the bath.
From the underside of the bath, insert one of the handle valves
up into the selected mounting holes.
From the top of the bath, thread one escutcheon down each
″Cold″and ″Hot″handle valve until only one thread is exposed
above the escutcheon.
Thread the mounting nut up to the underside of the deck/rim to
secure the valve in place.
Repeat process for the second valve.
Slide one bonnet into the escutcheon and thread onto each ″Cold″
and ″Hot″handle valve.

4. Install the Handles
NOTE: Handles that are marked ″Cold″with a blue tape must
always be installed onto the right handle valve as viewed from the
front of the bath.
Insert a screwdriver into the slots under each ″Cold″and ″Hot’
handle cap.
Pry the handle cap until it is removed from the handle. Save for
later use.
Removed one handle screw and one lockwasher from each ″Cold″
and ″Hot″handle. Save for later use.
Loosely press one handle onto each ″Cold″and ″Hot″valve stem.
Check for proper alignment.
To adjust the alignment, go to the underside of the bath and
loosen the mounting nut. Rotate the handle valve until the proper
alignment is achieved. Securely tighten the mounting nut.
After adjustment, firmly press one handle onto each ″Cold″and
″Hot″valve stem until the stem and handle splines are engaged.
Insert one lockwasher into the screw hole of each ″Cold″and
″Hot″handle. Secure with a screw.
Firmly press one handle cap back into the top of each ″Cold″and
″Hot″handle.

5. Install the Spout
Insert the rubber washer up into the groove on the underside of
the spout.
From the top of the bath, insert the spout shank through the
mounting hole.
From the underside of the bath, slide one rubber washer, one
brass washer, and one flange nut up onto the spout shank.
Securely tighten the flange nut. Do not overtighten.
Slide one O-ring down the spout end of the adapter.
Thread the adapter up onto the spout shank until tight.

6. Install the Handshower
From the top of the bath, insert the narrow end of the flexible
hose into the hose guide and through the mounting hole.
Slide one fiber washer up onto the threads of the handshower
holder.
Thread the handshower holder into the flexible hose.
Slide one screen washer onto the threads of the handshower.
Thread the handshower into the handshower holder.
From the underside of the bath, thread the flexible hose onto the
special hose adapter.
Thread the special hose adapter onto the connector end of the
high pressure hose.
Insert one fiber washer onto the threads of the output port of the
diverter.
Thread the high pressure hose onto the output port of the
diverter.

7. Connect the Flexible Hoses
NOTE: The diverter elbow assemblies pivot to simplify hose
connections.
Insert one fiber washer into the open ends of all the flexible
hoses.
Thread one flexible hose onto each ″Cold″and ″Hot″valve body
outlet.
Connect the ″Cold″flexible hose onto the right diverter port of
the three-way elbow assembly.
Connect the ″Hot″flexible hose onto the left diverter port of the
three-way elbow assembly.
Thread a flexible hose onto the spout adapter. Connect this hose
to the elbow assembly diverter port.

8. Installation Checkout
Ensure that all connections are tight.
Open the drain.
Turn on the main water supply and check for leaks. Repair as
needed.
Open both hot and cold valves and run water through the spout
(if installed) to remove debris. Check for leaks.
Press the rear corner of diverter (Lever A). Check that the water
is diverted to the handshower.
Turn the cold and hot handles off and then on. Verify that the
water flow is diverted back to the spout and that the handshower
is off.
Turn the valves off.
