Tools and Materials
Before You Begin
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Shut off the main water supply.
Provide an access panel for all installations.
Use 5/8″nominal tubing (3/4″O.D.) from the supply to the valve
inlets.
Install water hammer arresters in the supply line.
Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of

1. Component Layout
Verify the location of the components, and the orientation of all
ports.
Decide in advance on the location and orientation of the diverter.
The location of the shower, and the handshower, as well as the
direction in which the inlets/outlets point, will affect the piping
and connectors needed.
Allow clearance for valve outlets, handles, bath spout, and
handshower hoses.

2. Install the Diverter
Unthread and remove both elbow assemblies from the diverter.
Set aside the elbow assemblies.
Slide the washer over the diverter body.
Insert the washer up into the groove on the underside of housing.
Insert the diverter body into the mounting hole.
Rotate the diverter so the hose guide faces toward the front.
From the underside of the diverter, thread one mounting stud
into each mounting stud hole. Securely tighten.
Position the bracket onto the mounting studs and diverter.
While holding the bracket in place, thread a nut onto each
mounting stud.
Securely tighten the nuts until the bracket and diverter are snug
against the underside of the bath or finished deck.
Thread the three-way elbow assembly back into the lower
diverter port. The lower diverter port is marked by an arrow
pointing in.
Thread the elbow assembly back into the upper diverter port. The
upper diverter port is marked by an arrow pointing out.

3. Install the Handle Valve
Thread one mounting nut with the flange side up, down each
″Cold″and ″Hot″handle valve.
Slide one fiber washer and one rubber washer down each ″Cold″
and ″Hot″handle valve and onto the mounting nut.
Insert one washer up into the groove on the underside of the
escutcheon.
NOTE: Handle valves that are marked ″Cold″must always be
installed into the mounting hole on the right as viewed from the
front of the bath.
From the underside of the bath, insert one of the handle valves
up into the selected mounting holes.
From the top of the bath, thread one escutcheon down each
″Cold″and ″Hot″handle valve until only one thread is exposed
above the escutcheon.
Thread the mounting nut up to the underside of the deck/rim to
secure the valve in place.
Repeat process for the second valve.
Slide one bonnet into the escutcheon and thread onto each ″Cold″
and ″Hot″handle valve.
