it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped in water. This product has no serviceable parts.
•Never use while sleepy or drowsy.
•Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
•Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is
being administered.

Your Kohler Toilet
Crafted from a clay mixture that is fired at an intense heat to vitrify the clay and fuse the glaze, your Kohler
toilet is scratch- and abrasion-resistant. Its surface won’t stain, discolor, rust, or fade. Every component in
your Kohler toilet is specifically designed to increase the toilet’s useful life.
Care and Cleaning
WARNING: Risk of property or product damage. Do not use in-tank cleaners in your toilet.
Products containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can seriously damage fittings in the tank. This
damage can cause leakage and property damage.
Kohler Co. shall not be responsible or liable for any tank fitting damage caused by the use of cleaners
containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).
For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your KOHLER product:

Care and Cleaning (cont.)
•Use a mild detergent such as liquid dishwashing soap and warm water for cleaning. Do not use
abrasive cleaners that may scratch or dull the surface.
•Carefully read the cleaner product label to ensure the cleaner is safe for use on the material.
•Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.
•Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface.
•Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after cleaner application. Rinse
and dry any overspray that lands on nearby surfaces.
•Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as a brush or scouring
pad to clean surfaces.
•For Artist Edition Toilets: Gold and Platinum used on decorative products are like fine jewelry. Use
only warm water to clean, and dry with a soft cloth.

Seat Features and Operation
Auto Open -Turns the auto open feature on and off. To change the setting, push the button (usually twice)
until the light goes out.
Seat Heater - When the control light is yellow, the heat is set at low. When the control light is orange, the
heat is set at medium. When the control light is red, the heat is set at high. When the control light is off, the
heater is turned off.
Bowl Light - Turns the light located on the underside of the seat on and off. Push once to turn on or off.
Auto Flush - Turns the auto flush feature on and off. To change the setting, push the button (usually twice)
until the light goes out.
Lid Touch - Opens or closes the lid.
Lid and Ring Touch - Opens or closes both the lid and the ring.
Verify Correct Seat Operation
Verify the seat and ring operate correctly.
NOTE: The lid and ring must calibrate end positions after the power is switched on/off. After touching
either button on the lid, the ring and lid will both close, then open separately. Do not touch either button
until the sequence is complete.
Touch the buttons at the front of the lid to verify operation.
Seat Position Action/Result
When the lid and ring
are down Pushing the large button will make both the ring and lid raise. Pushing the small button will make the lid raise.
When the lid and ring
are up Touching the large button will make both the ring and lid close. The small button will make only the lid close.
When the lid is up and
the ring is down Touching the large button will make the ring open. Touching the small button will make the lid close
NOTE: If any of the seat functions are not operating correctly, consult the seat troubleshooting guide in
this document.

This troubleshooting guide is for general aid only. A Kohler Authorized Service Representative or qualified
electrician should correct all electrical problems. For warranty service, contact your dealer or wholesale
distributor.

Seat Troubleshooting Guide (cont.)

1. The lights do not light up. A. The light feature is not turned
on. A. Push the light button on the side of the hinge until the blue light on the
button turns on.
B. Electrical power is not
available. B1. Verify that the power cord (wall) is plugged into the outlet.
B2. Verify that the seat power cord is
plugged into the toilet power cord.
C. The GFCI or RCD is tripped. C. Reset the GFCI or RCD.
D. There is an electrical problem
with the outlet. D. Verify there is proper (120V) power at the wall outlet.
2. The seat does not
automatically go up and
down.
A. The auto open/close feature is
not turned on. A. Push the auto open/close button on the side of the hinge until the blue
light on the button turns on.
B. Electrical power is not
available. B1. Verify that the power cord (wall) is plugged into the outlet.
B2. Verify that the seat power cord is
plugged into the toilet power cord.
C. The GFCI or RCD is tripped. C. Reset the GFCI or RCD.
D. There is an electrical problem
with the outlet. D. Verify there is proper (120V) power at the wall outlet.
3. The seat goes only
partially up or down. A. The seat calibration is wrong. A. Toggle the auto open feature on/off and then touch either lid button to
start the calibration sequence again.
4. The seat does not get
warm. A. The seat heater is not turned on. A. Push the heated seat button on the side of the hinge until the desired
color light on the button turns on.
No color = off, Yellow = low,
Orange = medium, Red = warmest.
B. Electrical power is not
available. B1. Verify that the power cord (wall) is plugged into the outlet.
B2. Verify that the seat power cord is
plugged into the toilet power cord.
C. The GFCI or RCD is tripped. C. Reset the GFCI or RCD.
D. There is an electrical problem
with the outlet. D. Verify there is proper (120V) power at the wall outlet.
5. The auto flush feature
does not work. A. The auto flush feature is not turned on. A. Push the auto flush button on the side of the hinge until the blue light
on the button turns on.
B. Electrical power is not
available. B1. Verify that the power cord (wall) is plugged into the outlet.
B2. Verify that the seat power cord is
plugged into the toilet power cord.
C. The GFCI or RCD is tripped. C. Reset the GFCI or RCD.
D. There is an electrical problem
with the outlet. D. Verify there is proper (120V) power at the wall outlet.

2. The toilet randomly
flushes 2 times. A. The tank is overfilling. A. Immediately perform the troubleshooting steps or turn the
water off. Turn the water back on
when troubleshooting.
To troubleshoot this toilet you must first:
NOTE: If the toilet supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Unplug the toilet or turn off the power.
If needed, turn on the water supply.
Plug the toilet back in or turn the power back on.
IMPORTANT! When the power is turned on, the toilet may flush three times and then function correctly.
No action is needed if this happens.
Note the results (how many times the toilet flushes, whether it operates normally).

3. The toilet fails to operate. A. There is a problem with the
wiring. A. Check the wiring and connect the power.
B. The GFCI or RCD tripped. B. Reset the GFCI or RCD (if
applicable).
C. There is a problem with the
pump connection. C. Check the pump connection.
D. The actuation switch is not
properly connected. D. Check the actuation switch connection.
E. The level switch is not properly
connected. E. Check the level switch connection.
F. The pump assembly does not
work. F. Replace the pump assembly.
G. The actuation assembly does not

One-Year Limited Warranty
KOHLER plumbing products are warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year
from date of installation.
Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, replace or make appropriate adjustment where Kohler Co. inspection

discloses any such defects occurring in normal usage within one (1) year after installation. Kohler Co. is not
responsible for removal or installation costs. Use of in-tank toilet cleaners will void the warranty.

Implied warranties including that of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are expressly
limited in duration to the duration of this warranty. Kohler Co. and/or seller disclaims any liability for
special, incidental or consequential damages.
Some states/provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or
limitation of special, incidental or consequential damages so these limitations and exclusions may not apply
to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from
state/province to state/province.
This is Kohler Co.’s exclusive written warranty.
