WhenanewsoftwareversionisreleasedfortheFM90i,itmustbeinstalledonyour
computer.

1LaunchtheinstallerFM90i_V0100Setup.exe.
2Followtheinstallationwizard’sinstructions.

5Followtheinstructionstonishtheinstallationprocess.
6PintheFM90isoftwareicontotheWindowsTaskbar.

ThecommunicationbetweentheProcessorUnitandtheSonarHeadismadeusinga
high-speedEthernetcable.IfaProcessorUnitisnotconguredtoconnecttothesonar,you
mustdenewhichIPAddressandSubnetmasktheEthernetadapterintheProcessorUnit
shalluseforthiscommunication.
Prerequisites
ThisprocedureismadefortheMicrosoft®64-bitWindows10operatingsystem.Itis
assumedthatyouarefamiliarwiththeWindows®operatingsystems,computertechnology,
andinterfaceprinciples.
Context
AslongasyoudonotchangetheProcessorUnittoanothercomputer,orreplacethenetwork
adapterinyourProcessorUnit,youwillonlyneedtodothisonce.
Procedure
1Onthecomputer,closetheFM90isoftware.
2OpentheNetworkConnectionsdialogbox.
aInthebottom-leftcornerofyourdesktop,selecttheWindows®searchfunction.
bInthesearchbox,type"NetworkConnections",andopentheNetworkConnections
dialogbox.
cRight-clickthenetworkadapteryouaregoingtouseandselectPropertieson
theshortcutmenu.
dOnthelistofconnections,selectInternetProtocol4(TCP/IPv4),andthen
Properties.
3SelectUsethefollowingIPaddress,andtypetheIPaddressandnetworkmask.

ThereisapowerswitchonthebackoftheSurfaceTelemetryUnit,andapowerbuttonon
thefront.Bothmustbeturnedon.
However,duringnormaloperation,youonlyneedtousethebuttononthefronttoturn
theunitonandoff.
Note
AfterpoweringuptheFM90i,therewillbeabriefdelaybeforetheProcessorUnitdiscovers
theSonarHead.Thelengthofthisdelaydependsonexternalfactors,suchasthelengthof
yournetsounder(third-wire)cable.WaitfortheLINKLED(H)ontheSurfaceTelemetry
UnittoturnsolidbeforeattemptingtoconnecttotheSonarHead.
Procedure
1OnthebackoftheSurfaceTelemetryUnit,turnthepowerswitchon.
2OnthefrontoftheSurfaceTelemetryUnit,pressthePWRbutton(A).
ObservethattheblueLEDringonthePWRbuttonashes.
3Turnonthedisplay.
Ifrequired,refertotheinstructionsprovidedbythedisplaymanufacturer.
4Turnonthecomputer.
Waitwhiletheoperatingsystemloads.
5Onthecomputerdesktop,double-clicktheFXicontostarttheprogram.
Note
Theprogramisnotautomaticallystartedwhenthecomputeristurnedon.
6Oncetheprogramhasstarted,observethatthedisplaypresentationllstheentire
screen.
Theprogramstartsupusingthesamesettingsasthelasttimeyouusedit.Ifthese
settingsareacceptable,continueoperation.Ifyouwishtoalteranyofthesettings,see
therelevantprocedures.
