• If none of the later steps instruct you to use the
parts including screw and cover that you
removed following the instructions described in
this manual, discard them.
• This manual provides the illustrations of the
accessory parts and machine that may be
slightly different in shape from yours. In that
case, instead of the illustrations, use the
appearance of your machine to follow the
installation procedure. This does not cause any
significant change or problem with the proce-
dure.

2. Installation procedures

(1) Turn OFF the power switch and unplug the
power cord from the power outlet.
(2) Remove the cover shown in the illustration.

Note:
• When the machine has the Dual Scan Docu-
ment Feeder or the Upgrade Kit UK-209, go to
<When the machine has the dual scan board>
on page E-3.
• When the machine does not have the Dual
Scan Document Feeder or the Upgrade Kit UK-
209, perform the following steps.
(3) Insert the supplied DSC board to the indicated
connector of the machine horizontally until it hits
against the end.
Note:
Perform it with certainty because contact failure
leads to the breakage of the board.
(4) Remove the one screw shown in the illustration
from the machine.

(5) Insert the supplied board holder to the DSC
board at the position shown in the illustration.
(6) Using the supplied shoulder screw (large), fasten
the board holder to the machine.
Note:
• Make sure that the DSC board does not slant.
• If it slants, push it horizontally until it hits
against the end.
(7) Attach the cover removed in step (2).

(8) Go to “3. Configuration procedures” on page E-8.
<When the machine has the dual scan board>
(3) Remove the indicated connector from the dual
scan board.
Note:
Perform this step only when the dual scan docu-
ment feeder is installed.
(4) Remove the dual scan board. (Three screws)
(5) Open the indicated connector of the dual scan
board and remove the cable.

(6) Insert the supplied DSC board to the indicated
connector of the machine horizontally until it hits
against the end.
Note:
Perform it with certainty because contact failure
leads to the breakage of the board.
(7) Remove the one screw shown in the illustration
from the machine.
(8) Insert the supplied board holder to the DSC
board at the position shown in the illustration.
(9) Using the supplied shoulder screw (large), fasten
the board holder to the machine.
Note:
• Make sure that the DSC board does not slant.
• If it slants, push it horizontally until it hits
against the end.
(10) Reinstall the dual scan board removed in steps
(4) to (5) by reversing the removal procedure.
Note:
Perform the following steps (11) to (14) only when
the dual scan document feeder is installed.
(11) Connect the connector which was removed in
step (3) again.
(12) Insert the supplied DSC board to the indicated
connector of the dual scan board horizontally
until it hits against the end.
Note:
Perform it with certainty because contact failure
leads to the breakage of the board.

(13) Insert the supplied board holder to the DSC
board at the position shown in the illustration.
(14) Set the board holder over the one mounted in
step (9), and screw it.

Note:

(15) Attach the cover removed in step (2) on E-2.

(16) Go to “3. Configuration procedures” on page E-
8.
<Installations to models C368/C308>
(1) Turn OFF the power switch and unplug the
power cord from the power outlet.
(2) Remove the cord clamp if used to secure the
power cord of the main body. (One screw)
(3) Remove the cap.
(4) Remove the lower rear cover. (12 screws)

Note:
• When the machine has the Dual Scan Docu-
ment Feeder DF-704, go to <When the
machine has the Dual Scan Document Feeder>
on page E-7.
• When the machine does not have the Dual
Scan Document Feeder, perform the following
steps.
(5) Remove the two screws shown in the illustration
from the machine.
(6) Install two supplied shoulder screws (small).
(7) Insert the supplied DSC board into the connector
shown of the machine straight all the way until it
is stopped.
Note:
Perform it with certainty because contact failure
leads to the breakage of the board.
(8) Install two supplied shoulder screws (large).
(9) Tighten the supplied screw at the position shown
in the illustration.
(10) Affix the supplied gasket on the back of the
lower rear cover while aligning with the mark-
ing.
(11) To install the covers and other parts removed in
steps (2) to (4), reverse the removal procedure.
(12) Go to “3. Configuration procedures” on page E-
8.

<When the machine has the Dual Scan Document
Feeder>
(5) Affix the supplied gasket on the back of the lower
rear cover while aligning with the marking.
(6) Remove the indicated connector from the dual
scan board.
(7) Remove the dual scan board. (Two screws)
(8) Remove the two screws shown in the illustration
from the machine.
(9) Install two supplied shoulder screws (small).
(10) Insert the supplied DSC board into the connec-
tor shown of the machine straight all the way
until it is stopped.
Note:
Perform it with certainty because contact failure
leads to the breakage of the board.

(11) Reinstall the dual scan board removed in step
(7). (Two screws)
(12) Install two supplied shoulder screws (large).
(13) Connect the connector which was removed in
step (6) again.
(14) Insert the supplied DSC board to the indicated
connector of the dual scan board horizontally
until it hits against the end.
Note:
Perform it with certainty because contact failure
leads to the breakage of the board.
(15) Tighten the supplied screw and the screw
removed in step (7).
(16) To install the covers and other parts removed in
steps (2) to (4), reverse the removal procedure.
3. Configuration procedures
<Setting the security kit>
(1) Plug the power cord into the power outlet and
turn ON the power switch.
(2) Display the Service Mode screen.
(For details of how to display the Service Mode
screen, see the service manual.)
(3) Touch “System 2.”
(4) Touch “Option Board Status.”
(5)
<When attaching one DSC board>
Touch “Set” of DSC1.
<When attaching two DSC boards>
Touch “Set” of DSC1 and DSC2.
(6) Touch “END.”
<Security setting>
Note:
The following setting should be performed by the
Administrator.
(1) Touch the [Menu] key.
(2) Select the function to be used as follows:
Utility→Administrator Settings →Enter the
Administrator Password →Forward →Security
Settings →Security Details
(3) Touch “↓” two times.
(4) Touch “Copy Guard.”
(5) Touch “Yes.”
(6) Touch “Password Copy.”
(7) Touch “Yes.”
(8) Touch “OK.”
(9) Turn OFF and ON the power switch.
