Hi-fi Soft mute 85358MOH for Honda & Acura
3G Drive & Talk Hifi Soft mute enables the use of the car speak-
ers for phone conversation. The Hi-fi Soft mute box is designed to
handle the line signal running from the radio to the amplifier.
Speaker-function: This is achieved by using the mutebox-relays to
disconnect the rear line signals and connect the front line signals
to the carkit. This way the radio sound is muted and the sound
from the carkit is sent through the cars front speakers. You will
achieve a perfect hands-free sound without interference from the
car radio.
For a complete cable-set two item numbers are needed. The 1st
item number includes the mutebox and the car-specific cable-set.
The 2nd item number is a carkit-specific adaptor-cable for adapting
the car-specific cable to the carkit.
Power supply of the carkit: All car-specific cable-sets have an inte-
grated carkit power-supply. In the car-specific cable-sets the con-
stant 12v and the ground wire are connected to the 16 way con-
nector. This connector is to be fitted to the 16 way connector on
the carkit adaptor. This way power-supply, of the carkit, is
achieved without cutting the cars wiring loom.
Mute function: The mute-wire is connected from the carkit to the
mutebox through the carkit adaptor. The mute-wire is also con-
nected to the radios mute input. This enables the use of the radios
built in mute function. If the radios mute input pin is unknown the
mute wire can be found in a yellow fly-wire fitted with a bullet
connector. Please note that not all radios are equipped with a
mute function.

Installation description
Hi-fi Soft mute 85358MOH for Honda & Acura
Needed items:
A. Mutebox. P/N: MOH
B. Car-specific cable with Amp-On. P/N: 85358
C. Box adaptor. P/N: AA301
D. 3G Carkit adaptor. P/N: DAxxx
E. Carkit.
Note: The Mutebox A is always delivered with cables B & C.
Installation:
1st. Remove the radio unit from the centre consol.
2nd. Insert the Car-specific cable B between the connector on the radio and the con-
nector on the cars wiring loom.
3rd. Check ignition source in connector F . If the car model have an ignition source in
the connector on the car-specific cable B the blue ignition wire is connected to this posi-
tion. Otherwise an IGNIBOX item no. “I” can be inserted to create an artificial ignition
source or the blue ignition wire can be disconnected from the red constant 12v and
manually connected to an ignition source found elsewhere.
4th. Connect the carkit adaptor D to the Box adaptor C by connecting the 16 pin
connector on the 3G carkit adaptor D to the Box adaptor C . If the carkit adaptor D in-
cludes a 4 pin connector this can be directly connected to the 4 pin connector on a Kram
Aux cable for improved Music quality.
5th. Connect the carkit E to the carkit adaptor D .
6th. Connect the mute wire G . The yellow mute-wire is fitted with a bullet connector
and found close to the male connector. The mute-wire will have to be connected for the
cars listed below in order to achieve full mute of all speakers. For all other model it is
optional.
If there are no wire in the position the pin can be insert directly. If there is a wire in the position the Mute-wire has to be connected to this wire.
The Mute positions are:
• Acura RL connect mute-wire to pin 24 in 32 pin radio connector to mute center-speaker.
• Acura TL 2004 connect mute-wire to pin 16 in 26 pin radio connector to mute center-speaker and subwoofer.
• Acura TL 2005-2006 connect mute-wire to pin 16 in 26 pin radio connector to mute center-speaker and subwoofer.
• Acura TL 2007-2008 connect mute-wire to pin 14 in 40 pin radio connector to mute center-speaker and subwoofer.
• Honda Legend 2007- connect mute-wire to pin 24 in 32 pin radio connector to mute center-speaker.
7th. Test the carkit. When the carkit, adaptor cable and Car-specific cable is installed correctly it will redirect your call through the cars front speakers and mute remaining speakers. Note: This solution
is designed to automatically turn on the separate amplifier when the carkit activates the mute signal.

adjusted. Connect the phone to the carkit and adjust the carkit volume to its middle position. Make a call and adjust the volume to an appropriate
level by using the adjustment screw on the back of the mutebox.
