Soldering Iron
www.lasertools.co.uk
Instructions
Before use:
• Do not heat up the soldering iron
without ensuring the soldering tip
is in place
• Check the setscrew is secure
which holds the tip in place
and the tip is pushed fully into
position.
Warm up the Iron
Warm up the soldering iron
thoroughly. Make sure that it is fully
up to temperature.
Tinning the soldering tip
Before use, the soldering tip must
be tinned. “Tinning” is the process
of coating the soldering tip with a
thin coat of solder. This aids in heat
transfer between the tip and the
component you are soldering, and
also helps the solder to flow.
Thoroughly coat the tip in solder
Any part of the tip left uncovered
may tend to collect flux residue and
may not conduct heat properly.
Replacement tips available:
5639 - 0589 - Pack of 2
5640 - 0590 - Pack of 2
Technical Data
Measurement
• The soldering iron is only suitable for
230-240v /50Hz
• Always use on a heat proof base or
proprietary soldering iron support
(not included).
• Always hold the tool by the handle
(all metal components will get hot)
• Always protect the cable from
contact with the tip
• The cable cannot be replaced if
damaged
• When work is finished allow the tip
to cool down slowly
• Do not immerse in water
• Tips can be replaced – always
do this when the tool is cold and
unplugged from the mains power
supply
