Connecting Earphones to the DVD Player
You can attach anearphone with astereo mini-jack plug to the phonejack ( )for private listening.Its volume is adjustable
using the VOLUME control dial. You can also connect a second earphoneto the AUDIO OUT jack, but its volume cannot be
adjusted.
Note: When theearphone is connectedto the Phone Jack ( ),the speaker willbe disconnected.
Notes on DSP
The DSP decodes the digital audio signal into stereo dts orDolby digital audio signal for speaker and earphone playbackafter
converting the signalto analog andamplifying it.
The 5.1 digitalsignal passes throughwithout decoding and can be accessedby the SPDIFjack on the Player.

TIPS
If you wishto view videoon your TV only, close the display panel of your Player.
With the displaypanel shut, usethe remote to control the Player.
You can enjoy DVD quality video on TV screen.

Connecting to a Stereo Component
1.Turn off both DVD player and your stereo system.
2.Connect theSPDIF to your stereo system as illustrated below.
3.Slide INPUT/OUTP to OUPUT.
4.Turn on power ofDVD player.
By connecting the digital output (SPDIF) on the DVD player through a coaxial cable (optional accessory)
to a Dolby Digital/DTS amplifier or processor, you can enjoy full 5.1 channel surround sound. Follow
these steps for making the connection.

Using the AC Adaptor
Important !
Always turnoff the DVD Player before connecting or disconnectingthe AC cord.
. Using adifferent type of adaptor may cause malfunction ordamage to the product.Only use theAC adaptorsupplied with this Player
When theAC adaptor isused for prolonged period of time,the adaptor mayheat up,
this is normaland is nota cause for concern.
When not usingthe adaptor,unplug it from the outlet.

Playing a Disc
Press on thePlayer or PLAY/ PAUSE ( ) on the remote controlto start play.
1.Make surethe unit hasthe power either from the batterypack or theAC adaptor.
2.Loading adisc, following thesesteps:
Open the topcover by pushingthe latch to the right andlift the topcover.
Press the OPEN button to open the disc compartment cover.
Place a discinto the traywith the label side facing up.
Close the disccover.
3.Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT (located on theside of theplayer).
4.Turn on the Power
Slide POWER to ON.
Press STANDBY on the remotecontrol to turnon the Player. You can alsopress PLAY ( ) onthe Player to turn on.

Playing a Disc
Skip
You can skip chapterson DVD-Video, tracks on CDs, and Video CDs.
1.To skip forward,press during play or while paused;it skips to the next chapteror track. Eachpress increases the numbers of skips.
2.To skip toprevious chapter or track, press twice. Pressing once willonly move to the beginning of the current chapteror track.
Fast Forward and Reverse
1.During playback,to fast forward, repeatedly press to increase the fast forward speed 2x,4x, 8x, 20x.
2.During playback,to fast rewind, repeatedly press to increase the fast reverse speed 2x,4x ,8x ,20x.
3.To resume normalplayback, press .
Slow Motion
1.During playback,repeatedly press SLOW to play at 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7speeds.
2.To resume normalplayback, press .
You can only performslow motion play in the forward direction.
1.During playback,press on thePlayer to pause.
2.Repeatedly press to play onefame at a time.
3.To resume normalplayback, press on the Player or on the remotecontrol.

This Player providesa unique resumefunction for making viewing movie moreconvenient. Follow thesesteps
1.When youwant to interruptthe playback and come back laterto play whereyou interrupted it, you can pressOPEN on the Playerto
open the disccompartment cover.
2.You can nowturn off the power, put it onstandby, or even remove the disc fromthe Player,and when you play the samedisc next
time, the discwill play fromwhere it was interrupted.

Mark (Bookmark)
The Mark function lets you select parts of a DVD so that you can quickly find the section at a later time.
Follow these steps to set up marker playback:
1.During playback, press MARK on the remote control.
2.Use to select the desired underscore.
3.When you reach the scene you want to mark, press ENTER to confirm; and the underscore changes to a number (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 ).
4.Repeat the above procedure for a new scene. You can have up to 5bookmarks.
You can perform marker playback at any time by pressing MARK, and using to select one of the marks, then pressing on
the Player to start playing the bookmarked scene. The playback continues until the end of the disc. Repeat the above to play the
other marked scenes.
GOTO
You can go directly to a desired chapter and play, or play at a desired point of time. Follow these steps:
(A)To play a specific chapter
1. Press GOTO, use to select title (TT) and chapter
(CH) and enter the desired number.
2. Press ENTER to confirm and start play.
Playing a Disc
(B)To play from a specific point of time.
1. Press GOTO, repeatedly press to move to the time display and
it changes 00:00:00.
2. Fill in the time (hour: minute: second).
3. Press ENTER to confirm and start play.
Repeat Playback

Press MENU/PBC to return to the disc's Start Menu if it has the Start menu, if not, appears. Use TITLE to
return to the beginning of the disc if there is no Start Menu.

To switch voice language, press LANGUAGE, the currently selected language is displayed on the screen. Repeatedly
press LANGUAGE to select other language if the disc has multiple languages.
You can also switch the voice language in disc menu screen by pressing MENU.
SUBTITLE
Repeatedly press SUBTITLE during playback to change the subtitle's language if thedisc has multiple language substitle. You can
turn off subtitle when OFF is selected.""
ANGLE
With DVDs featuring recordings of pictures shot from different angles, you can choose any desired viewing angle during playback.
Toswitch to different view angle, press ANGLE, the currently selected angle isdisplayed on the screen, repeatedly press ANGLE to
select your desiredangle.

Press TITLE, it takesyou to thevery beginning of the title andplay, or to theMENU if it has title menu.

Repeatedly press DISPLAY during playback to display various playback information such as current title, chapter, track
elapsed time, languages etc.

This function is mostly used for karaoke (sing along) discs, by repeatedly pressing L/R, you can select STEREO, MONO L,
MONO R.
This is used when you connect the Player to a TV and watch video on the TV. Repeatedly press P/N to select NTSC, PAL60, PAL and AUTO to match that of
your TV.
The LCD screen does not have NTSC or PAL, so if you watch video on the Player's screen, it is recommended to set to NTSC which will give a better video
quality. The player will play both PAL or NTSC DVD's tiltes even when the Player is set to NTSC.

Playing MP3 and Regular Audio CD
Valid MP3 CD and CD-R/RW
The MP3 files should be ISO9660 or Joliet format.
Use "mp3" as the file extension.
Play
In most cases, when a MP3 or CD is placed into the player, the first song file of the first folder palys.
In other cases, the file manger appears. Use direction keys ( and ) to select the song file and press Play on the Player or on the remote
control to play.
