Installing the battery
1. Press thelocking tab in the arrow direction.

3. Insert a3V lithium battery into the
tray with thepolarity ( + ) facing up

Connecting Earphones to the DVD Player
You can attach anearphone with a stereo mini-jack plugto the phone jack ( )for private listening. Its volume isadjustable
using the VOLUME control dial. You can also connecta second earphone to the AUDIO OUT jack, but its volume cannot be
adjusted.
Note: When theearphone is connected to the PhoneJack ( ),the speaker will be disconnected.
Notes on DSP
The DSP decodes the digital audio signal intostereo dts or Dolby digital audiosignal for speaker and earphone playbackafter
converting the signalto analog and amplifying it.
The 5.1 digitalsignal passes through without decoding andcan be accessed by the SPDIFjack on thePlayer.

If you wishto view video on your TV only, close thedisplay panel ofyour DVD player.
With the displaypanel shut, use the remote tocontrol DVD player.
1. Turnoff DVD player and TV.
2. Connect theaudio and video cables as illustrated below.
3. Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT.
4.Turn on DVD player andTV.
5. Select correspondingVideo input which is connectedto DVD player.
6. Press PLAY on DVD player.
You can enjoy DVD quality video on TV screen.

Using the AC Adaptor
Important !
Always turn off the DVD Player before connectingor disconnecting the AC cord.
. Using adifferent type of adaptor maycause malfunction or damage to theproduct.Only use theAC adaptor supplied with thisplayer
When theAC adaptor is used for prolongedperiod of time, the adaptor mayheat up,
This is normal and is not a causefor concern.
When not usingthe adaptor, unplug it fromthe outlet.

This portable DVDplayer can be powered byAC through the supplied switching powerAC adaptor. It canalso use the
supplied battery packto power.
When theAC adaptor is connected to theunit and powered, the unit willbe automatically and electrically disconnected fromthe

Using the Battery Pack
Installing the battery pack
Align and insertthe battery pack into the
corresponding slots onthe back of the unit. Slide the batterypack to the left until it clicksinto place.
Removing the battery pack
Slide down thelatch. Slide the batterypack to the right, and remove.
Charging the battery pack
1.Turn off the unit by sliding POWER ON/OFF to OFF.
Note: When the playeris turned on, the battery willnot be charged.
2.Attach thebattery pack to the unit.
3.Connect oneend of the AC cordto the jack on theAC adaptor.
4.Plug theother end of the ACcord into an AC outlet.
5.Connect theDC cord to the DC IN12V jack on the DVD player.
1.The LEDlights ( orange color ), andcharging begins.
2.When batteryis fully charged, the LED turnsto red.

Cautions in Using Battery Pack

Strictly follow thesesafety information when using the batterypack. Otherwise, ashort circuit, overheating, smoke, fire,
or damage tothe product may result.
Never disassemble ormodify the battery pack in anyway. Do not touchthe terminal ofthe battery packwith a metalobject.
Do not placethe battery pack in direct sunlight,dashboard of a vehicle, or hightemperature place. Itcan cause explosion or fire.
Do not exposethe battery pack to water,fire, or heat.
Always usethe included AC adaptor whencharging the battery pack.
This battery pack is designed exclusively for yourportable DVD player. Do notuse it with other devices.

2. Keep outof reach of children.
3. The battery pack may leak fluid thatis harmful to your eyes.
If this fluidgets in your eyes, wash eyesimmediately with large amounts of runningwater and getmedical attention immediately.

1. When notusing the battery pack, remove itand store in a cool place.
2. Do notuse the AC adaptor orbattery pack for a prolonged periodof time during recharging.

4. Using thebattery pack under 0 C (32 F) or over 30 C(86 F) can cause reducedbattery life.

Playing a Disc
Play
Press to startplay.
1.Make surethe unit has the power eitherfrom the battery pack or theAC adaptor.
2.Loading adisc, following these steps:
Open the topcover by pushing the latch tothe right and lift the topcover.
Press the OPEN button to openthe disc lid.
Place a discinto the tray with the labelside facing up.
Close the disccover.
3.Slide INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT (located on theside of the player).
4.Slide POWER to ON to turn onthe power.
Preparation for Playback
Stop
1.Press (onthe remote) or STOP (on the player)to temporarily stopthe playback, "PRESTOP" appears on the screen.
2.Press orSTOP again to stop the playback.
Pause
1.During playback,press (on theremote) or PAUSE (on the player) to pause.
2.Press toresume playback.
Resume
When you press or STOP, the playerremembers where you stopped, and whenyou press PLAY later, it will play fromwhere you
stopped it. However, during which,if the disc is removed, theSTOP ( ) buttonis pressed again or the playeris turned off, the
RESUME function will belost.

Skip
You can skip chapterson DVD-Video, tracks on CDs,and Video CDs.
1.To skip forward,press during playor while paused; it skips tothe next chapter or track. Eachpress increases the numbers of skips.
2.To skip toprevious chapter ortrack, press twice. Pressing once will only move tothe beginning of the current chapter or track.
Fast Forward and Reverse
1.During playback,to fast forward, repeatedly press toincrease the fast forward speed 2x,4x, 8x, 16x, 32x.
2.During playback,to fast rewind, repeatedly press toincrease the fast reverse speed 2x,4x ,8x ,16x, 32x.
3.To resume normalplayback, press .
Slow Motion
1.During playback,repeatedly press SLOW to play at 1/2, 1/4, 1/8,1/16, 1/32 speeds.
2.To resume normalplayback, press .
You can only performslow motion play in the forwarddirection.
Frame-by-Frame Playback
1.During playback,press or PAUSE to pause.
2.Repeatedly press or PAUSE to play onefame at a time.
3.To resume normalplayback, press .
You can only performstep play in the forward direction.
Repeat Playback
You can play achapter, a track, a title,a file or the entire discrepeatedly.
1.During playback,repeatedly press REPEAT to choose a Repeat option. Dependingon the type of disc,the Repeatoptions may
be different.
2.To cancel repeatplayback, repeatedly pressREPEAT until OFF appears on the screen.
Playing a Disc

Mark (Bookmark)
You can playback froma certain point using the MARK function.
1.During playback,press MARK to mark thepoint at which you want tostart the playback.
2.At anytime, when MARK is pressed again, it starts toplayback from themarked point.

GOTO
GOTO lets you choosea specific elapsed playing time ora desired Chapter/Title/Track to begin playback.
1.Press GOTO, title, chapter ortrack information appears depending on thedisc format.
2.Use keyto change Chapter/Title/Track number, and tomove between Chapter/Title/Track.
3.Press GOTO again, to enterthe elapsed time.
4.Press PLAY to start playback.
5.If youwant to play from a specificChapter, Title or Track, you can skip Step3.
GOTO function is notvalid for MP3/JPEG file in CD-ROMformat and Picture CD.
Some DVDs donot allow this function during specificTitle/Chapter isplaying.
Zoom
ZOOM lets you enlargethe video image during playback and pan through theenlarged image.
1.Press ZOOM repeatedly during videoplayback to enlarge the image to x 2 orx 4 times of the normalsize.
2.Press ZOOM repeatedly while displayingJPEG file and Picture CD disc to zoom inthe picture at 150% or 200%
and zoom outthe picture at 25% or 50%.
Use direction keys( and )to move around(pan and scan) the enlarged video or picture.
Playing a Disc

Mute
Press MUTE to silence theaudio, press MUTE again to restore it.
Language
Repeatedly press LANGUAGE during DVD playbackto change thelanguage of the voice if thedisc has multiple languages.
This function isonly valid for DVDs.
Subtitle
Repeatedly press SUBTITLE during DVD playbackto change thesubtitle's language If the disc hasmultiple subtitle's languages.
This function isonly valid for DVDs.
Angle
Repeatedly press ANGLE during DVD playbackto change thecamera angle if the disc hasdifferent camera angles.
This function isonly valid for DVDs.

Menu/PBC
During DVD playback,press MENU/PBC to return tothe disc's Start Menu. If thedisc does not have the Start Menu,
or discs thatrefuse MENU function, appears.
For VCD playback,press MENU/PBC to turn on/off PBC (PlaybackControl). If PBCis enabled, menu of scene's thumbnailsappears,
you can makeselection for playback.
Playing a Disc

Display
Press DISPLAYduring DVD playback to display playbackinformation such as current title, chapter, track, elapsedtime etc.
Press DISPLAY again to showadditional information such as audio channels,TV system, language etc.
Press DISPLAY again to removeinformation.
Audio Channel
When playing CDor VCD, repeatedly press L/R to change the sound output toStereo, left/left, right/right.
Turn Off The Player
1.Press STOP twice to stopthe playback, if the unit isplaying.
2.Slide POWER ON/OFF to OFF to turn off the power.

Playing Picture CD
Valid Picture CD
The player canplay both Kodak Picture CD thatyou order from photo processing store,and home-made CDby burning JPEG files
onto a CD-Ror CD-RW disc.
Transition Effect
There are 12transition effects to move fromone slide to another. Tochange transition effect, repeatedly press ANGLE.
In most cases, after the disc is placed into the player, the player will start to slide show automatically.
In other cases, the file manager appears. Use direction keys ( and ) to select the picture and press PLAY to play.
1.During playback,press (on the remote) or PAUSE (on the player)to pause.
2.Press toresume playback.
The picture canbe rotated and flipped.
1.During playback,press or Pause to temporarily stopthe playback.
2.Use directionkeys ( and ) to rotateright 90 degrees, left 90 degrees,flip vertically and flip horizontally respectively.
Next/Previous
You can manually skipto the next picture by pressing , and toskip to the previous picture bypressing .
Slide Show Speed
During slide show, the displayingtime of eachpicture can be changed by repeatedly pressing .
Available intervals are 2 sec, 4 sec, 8sec and 10 .
