TIPS ONBATTERYUSE
Reversing polaritieswill damage the batteriesand possiblyyourset. Besureto
followpolarity(+and -)asindicated.

WHEN SHOWSINTHEDISPLAYY
If the alkaline batteriesareweakand discharged,thissymbol “ ” showsor
flashesin the display,then the powerautomaticallyturnsoff. If thisoccurs,replace
the alkaline batteries(alsoifthe displaydoesnotshowanything,the batteriesare
dead).

allowsvirtuallyunlimitedgentle skipprotection abovethenormalshock protection.
The 60 second ElectronicSkip Protection function preventsthe sound from skipping

memorybuffer(basket)isfull.
If the setissubjecttoashock orabump during play,the
datastored inmemorycontinuestobedecoded and
played.Thisgivesthe pickup time tostabilizeand continue
reading newmusic.Asthe dataisused from memory,the
indicatorchangesfrom “”to “”.Oncethe pickup
returnstoitsoriginal position,newdataisstored in memory
and the displaychangesback tothe “”mark.
NOTE:
-Themusicmaystop ifthe playerreceivescontinuous
shocking orshaking.
-Youmay hearnoiseorskipping iftheDISCisdirtyor
scratched.
-If you press SKIP/SEARCH buttons,the memorybasket

Cleaning thecabinet
Wipewithasoftcloth.Ifthecabinetis
verydirty,dampen (notdripping wet)the
clothwithaweaksolution ofsoapywater,
and then wipe clean.
Cleaning thelens
Adirtylenswill causesound skipping.If
the lensisverydirty,the playermaynot
work.Wesuggestusingaspecial
cleaningdisk(notincluded)availablein
mostmusicand Hi-Fistores.However,if
youdonothaveone,you mayusea
cotton swab veryslightlydampened with
alcohol toclean the lens.
MAINTENANCE
Toremove theDisc
OpentheCDDOORbyslidingthe CD
DOOROPEN button,hold the disc by
theedgewhileslightlypressingonthe
centerspindleasillustrated,thenlift it
from the edge toreleaseandremove.
Cleaning theDiscs
Fingerprintsshould be carefullywiped
fromthesurfaceofdisc withasoft
cloth.Unlikeconventional records,
compactdiscshaveno groovesto
collectdustandmicroscopicdirt,so
gentlywiping them withasoft cloth
should removemostparticles.Wipe
in astraightmotion from the centerto
theedge.
Neverusethinner,benzine,record
cleanerorantistaticsprayonacompact
disc.Suchchemicalscan damage its
plasticsurface.
Handling CompactDiscs
Dirty,scratchedorwarped discsmay
causeskippingornoise.
Handlethe disconlybythe edges.To
keep clean,donottouchitssurface.
Discs shouldbestored in theircases
afterusetoavoid scratches.
Donotexposediscs todirectsunlight,
high humidity,high temperatures,or
dust, etc.Prolonged exposureto
extremetemperaturescanwarpthe
disc (suchasleaving the discs in your
carduringsummertime).
Donotstickorwriteanythingoneither
sideofdisc.Sharpwriting instruments,
ortheinks usedin somefelt-tip pens,
maydamageitssurface.

CONDENSATION
If cold waterispouredintoaglass,waterdropletsformonthe outsideofthe glass. This
iscalled condensation.Condensation mayoccuron internal operating partsofthe lens.
Condensation occurs:
When the setisbroughtfrom the cold outdoorsintoawarmroom,orifitisin acold
room toaroom whichisheated,orin thesummer,ifthe setismoved from an air-
conditioned room orcartoahotorhumid location.
Should condensation occur,the setmay notoperateproperly.Open the CD DOOR
and waitforabout20 minutes(toallowtheinternal partstoadjusttothe surrounding
temperature)beforeusingtheset.
