yDo not touch the power plug with wet hands. Additionally, if the cord pin is
wet or covered with dust, dry the power plug completely or wipe dust off.

yIf you don’t intend to use the product for a long time, unplug the power
cable from the product.

- Mains plug is the disconnecting device. The plug must remain readily operable.
yMake sure to turn off the product. Make sure to remove all cables before
moving the product.

yMake sure the product ventilation hole is not blocked. Install the product in
a suitably wide place (more than 10cm from the wall)

- If you install the product too close to the wall, it may be deformed or fire
can break out due to internal heat.

manufacturer’s instructions.

- The product can be deformed or fire can break out due to overheating
inside the product.
yInstall the product on a flat and stable place that has no risk of dropping
the product.

yWhen installing the product on a table, be careful not to place it near the

adult and serious damage to the product. Only use a suitable stand.

yAs long as this unit is connected to the AC wall outlet, it is not disconnected from the AC power
source even if you turn off this unit by SWITCH.
yDo not turn the product On/Off by plugging-in or unplugging the power plug

This could cause damage to the remote control.

Electronics. Otherwise, this may result in fire, electric shock, malfunction or
product deformation.

Unpacking
Check your product box for the following items. If there are any missing accessories, contact the local
dealer where you purchased your product. The illustrations in this manual may differ from the actual
product and item.

yAny damage or injuries caused by using unapproved items are not covered by the warranty.

yThe items supplied with your product may vary depending on the model.
yProduct specifications or contents of this manual may be changed without prior notice due to
upgrade of product functions.
yFor an optimal connection, HDMI cables and USB devices should have bezels less than 10 mm
thick and 18 mm width. Use an extension cable that supports USB 2.0 if the USB cable or USB
memory stick does not fit into your Set-Top Box’s USB port.
yWhen connecting two USB devices at the same time, each one should have bezels less than 8.5
mm thick.

How to Use Dual Lock™ (optional)
(Image shown may differ from your product.)
Fix the Set-Top Box to the TV and use it when you want to.
1 After removing the protection paper from the Dual Lock™, stick it to the TV and the Set-Top Box as
shown.
Dual Lock™
2 Attach the Set-Top Box to the TV by pressing the Velcro strips together.
NOTE
yPlease make sure no foreign substances exist on the surface of the product, and then firmly attach
the Dual Lock™.
yBefore attaching the Set-Top Box to the TV set, let the attached Dual Lock™ dry for at least three
days.

MAKING CONNECTIONS
You can connect various external devices to
the product. For more information on external
device’s connection, refer to the manual provided
with each device.
Available external devices are: HD receivers,
DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage
devices, PC, gaming devices, and other external
devices.
NOTE
yThe external device connections shown
may differ slightly from illustrations in this
manual.
yConnect external devices to the Set-Top
Box regardless about the order of the
Set-Top Box port.
yIf you record a TV program on a DVD
recorder or VCR, make sure to connect
the TV signal input cable to the Set-Top
Box through a DVD recorder or VCR. For
more information about recording, refer to
the manual provided with the connected
device.
yRefer to the external equipment’s manual
for operating instructions.
yIf you connect a gaming device to the
Set-Top Box, use the cable supplied with
the gaming device.
yUsing a DVI to HDMI cable may cause
compatibility issues.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning your Set-Top Box
Clean your Set-Top Box regularly to keep the best performance and to extend the product lifespan.
To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.
To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild
detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.
Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the AC-DC adapter regularly.
CAUTION
yMake sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.
yWhen the Set-Top Box is left unattended and unused for a long time, disconnect the power cord
from the wall outlet to prevent possible damage from lightning or power surges.
yDo not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result
in scratches and image distortions.
yDo not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.
yDo not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the Set-Top Box, it may result in fire, electric
shock, or malfunction.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The software version can be updated for improvement in performance. Customer needs to ensure the
compatibility of customer’s equipment with LGE software. If needed, please consult with LGE and upload
revised software version according to the guidance provided by LGE.

Cannot control the

the remote control.
yCheck the remote control sensor on the product and try again.
yCheck if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.
yCheck if the batteries are still working and properly installed ( to , to ).

yCheck if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.
yCheck if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products.
The Set-Top Box

‘Invalid Format’ is
displayed.
yTurn the Set-Top Box off/on using the remote control.
