General
Lincoln electronic lube meter is
designed specifically to dispense motor oils
(SAE 5-50), gear oils (SAE 80-240),
automatic transmission fluid, antifreeze
(Ethylene glycol), brake fluid, engine coolant,
and windshield wiper fluid solutions.
Modular design, low cost, lightweight and
rugged design make model 980 best choice
for overhead reel systems.
Electronic register module contains
microprocessor powered by lithium
battery. It can be programmed to dispense in
pints, quarts, liters, or gallons and will
totalize in liters or gallons. Meter
calibration factor is determined during
factory test. Meter can be recalibrated in field
for fluids of different viscosity. Six-digit
liquid crystal display, accurate to second
decimal place, shows exact amount of fluid
dispensed. Electronic-register, module
housing is made of shock-resistant nylon
that is protected by rubber boot to handle
harshest of environments.
Operation
As fluid passes through metering
chamber by entering inlet port, it forces
internal gears to rotate and exits through
outlet port. Each rotation of gear
displaces given volume of fluid.
Display shows amount of fluid
dispensed since last time reset
button was pushed. Pushing reset button will
reset display to zero for next dispense.
To change the unit of measure:
1 Press total button three times,
followed by reset button three times
within time frame of two seconds.
Active unit of measure symbol begins
flashing, indicating programming mode.
2 Press reset button repeatedly until
desired unit of measure appears flashing
in display.
3 Simultaneously press and hold reset
button and total button for about three
seconds to enter new unit of measure
and exit programming mode.
Meter is not for resale measurement of fluid.

note
Systems which will be dispensing fluids
under pressure may need to be
protected by using thermal relief kit that
will safely limit pressures caused by
thermal expansion.
Please contact local Lincoln
distributor and refer to
service page 430260 for more details.
Failure to include thermal relief
protection may cause damage not
covered under Lincoln’s warranty policy.
note
Ensure fluid is properly filtered before it
enters meter.
Foreign particles in meter could cause
inaccurate meter readings, and damage
meter.
note
Display remains on and does not affect
life of battery.
