OPERATING MANUAL
Preface This operating manual shall make it easier to become acquainted with the machine and to make full
use of it as intended.
The operating manual contains important information on how to operate the machine safely, properly
and economically. Following it will help to prevent danger, avoid repair costs and downtimes, and
increase the reliability and service life of the machine.
The operating manual should be supplemented by instructions based on existing national provisions for
accident prevention and environmental protection.
The operating manual must be constantly available at the place of use of the machine.
The operating manual must be read and applied by every person who is commissioned with work on
the machine e.g.:
Operation, including preparation, fault repair during work, removal of production waste, care,
disposal of operating and auxiliary materials
Maintenance (servicing, inspection, repair) and/or
Transportation.
In addition to the operating manual and the binding accident prevention regulations applicable in the
country and location of use, the recognized professional regulations for safe and correct working
practice must also be observed.
Required tool In order to operate the wall saw, a tool is required in the form of a saw blade. These tools can be
purchased from the manufacturer.
Changes and reservations We strive to keep this operating manual correct and up to date. In order to maintain our technological
advance, it can be necessary to make changes to the product and its operation without advance notice.

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
2.1. Intended use policy
The manufacturer and supplier assume no liability for inappropriate use or usage other than the
intended use. No alterations may be made to the machine unless carried out by the manufacturer.
Extensions and modifications to the wall saw may only be carried out with written permission from
the manufacturer.
The machine is constructed according to the state of the art and the recognized safety rules.
Nevertheless, there may be dangers to life and limb for the user or third parties, damages to the
machine or other property items.
The machine may only be used when it is error-free, in the intended manner, in a safety-conscious and
risk-aware manner and in accordance with the operating manual. In particular, faults which can affect
safety must be corrected immediately.
Intended use The LISSMAC wall saw is exclusively intended for cutting joints or grooves in (reinforced) concrete
and masonry. The saw may only be operated in conjunction with the saw guide rail. The saw may only
be operated by a single person. Overhead cutting is not permitted. Any use other than this will be
deemed unintended. Dry cuts and wall-flush cuts require special accessories to be fitted.
Intended use includes following the operating manual and complying with the inspection and
maintenance manual.
Non-intended use Foreseeable misuse / non-intended use:
Cutting without the saw blade guard
Cutting wood, plastic or metal
(other than reinforcement or armoring in concrete)
Structural modifications which alter the wall saw's safety or design type.

2.2. Organizational measures
The operating manual must be kept within reach of every person at the place where the machine is
used.
Generally valid legal or other obligatory regulations for accident prevention and environmental
protection constitute supplements to the operating manual; users must be informed of these and they
must be observed.
Similar obligations may also arise in relation to e.g. handling hazardous substances, wearing personal
protective equipment, road traffic regulations.
The personnel contracted to carry out tasks involving the machine must have read and understood the
operating manual before starting work, in particular the section Safety Notices. This particularly
applies to personnel who only work on the machine occasionally, for example commissioning and
maintenance personnel.
Regularly check that personnel are working in a safety-conscious/risk-aware manner and complying
with the operating manual.
Always use the necessary prescribed personal protection equipment.
Follow all safety and danger notices on the wall saw and keep them in a legible state!
Replace safety and danger notices that are damaged or can no longer be read.
If any safety-relevant alterations occur to the machine or its operating behavior, immediately bring it
to a halt and label it accordingly. Report the fault to the responsible place/individual.
Do not carry out any extensions or modifications to the saw without the written permission of the
manufacturer. The tool manufacturer’s instructions must be observed.
Only use tested original spare parts from the manufacturer.
Adhere to inspection periods as prescribed or indicated in the manual.
To carry out maintenance activities, it is essential to have an appropriately equipped workshop.
Before cutting, always obtain detailed information regarding hidden cabling in the cutting area, and
take the appropriate cautionary measures.

2.3. Choice of personnel, qualifications; fundamental obligations
Operators must be aged at least 18 and be mentally and physically capable of operating the
machinery. All persons must be instructed in operation of the machinery and have been expressly
tasked with operating the machine, in writing.
Establish personnel responsibilities for operating, outfitting, maintenance and servicing.
Ensure that only the expressly assigned personnel work on the machine.
The operator must wear personal protective equipment corresponding to the safety regulations, such
as safety shoes, safety gloves, a dust shield mask and goggles.
It is forbidden to remain in the working area longer than necessary. Ensure that individuals who are
not working with the machine have left the working area. If necessary, close off the working area.
The operator must ensure at all times that they are not endangering themselves or other people. All
obstacles that obstruct the work process or machine repositioning must be removed from the place of
use.
Work on the machine’s electrical equipment may only be carried out by a qualified electrician or by
trained personnel under the guidance and supervision of a qualified electrician and in compliance with
the electronic regulations.
Personnel who are in training or under instruction, including as part of general training, may only work
on the machine under the continuous supervision of an experienced person.
2.4. Safety notices regarding the operating phases
2.4.1. Transport, assembly and installation
Transport, assembly and installation may only take place when disconnected.
We recommend that transport takes place in the original transport container in order to avoid
damages.
Never carry the machine by the cable.

2.4.2. Commissioning
Only use original accessories and the tool approved by the manufacturer.
Check the direction of operation when fitting the saw blade.
Protect hands from sharp edges when fitting the saw blade.
Blade may be hot after cutting. Wear gloves to change it.
Ensure that the ground/floor has adequate load-bearing capacity. All obstacles must be removed from
the cutting area and good lighting must be provided.
Visually check the machine for damages and defects. Check the safety set-up in particular. Report any
changes (including to the operational behavior) immediately to the responsible place/person! Switch
off the machine immediately if necessary and secure it against restarting.
The power supply must have the voltage specified on its type plate, and be earthed. The machine must
be protected via a portable residual current device (PRCD).
Rotary tools with a maximum speed less than the nominal speed of the machine may not be used.
Do NOT use defective or cracked tools.
Only mount diamond tools that have the correct dimensions and strength! Even if it is possible to
mount other saw blades, they may not be used.
Only use undamaged original clamping flanges with the correct dimensions.
2.4.3. Operation
Refrain from any unsafe working procedures.
If the machine malfunctions, halt it immediately and secure it. Have faults repaired immediately.
Electrical work may only be carried out by trained electrical personnel.
Only use appropriate, tested tools.
Drive the saw blade slowly, step-wise to the specified depth in the ground. Avoid all contact with the
rotary tool.
Do not cut without a saw blade guard or drive belt cover.
The operator must be protected from rotating parts and flying debris.
Always ensure a secure stance and favorable position; operate the machine with a steady head.
No long hair, jewelry or other clothing that could get caught up or drawn in.
Cables and tubing should lead away from the machine in an orderly fashion, in order to avoid trips and
incisions.
Before cutting, confirm with the site manager that there are no active gas or water pipes or electric
cables in the cutting area.
Do not work from a ladder.
Establish a safety zone of 1.5 m around the saw.

Every person who enters the working area must be wearing personal protective equipment.
The machine may not be operated in areas where there are explosive risks.
Avoid bodily contact with earthed surfaces such as heating pipes, in order to minimize the risk of
electrocution.
Do not use the device if it cannot be switched on and off from the switch.
Do not lock the on-off switch in the ON position.
2.4.4. Repositioning the saw
The saw may only be transported or repositioned when the saw blade is not moving.
Unplug the machine beforehand.
2.4.5. Exceptional tasks during use of the machine
Comply with the dates and activities for configuration, maintenance and inspection as prescribed in
this operating manual, including the details regarding replacement of parts/partial equipment. These
activities may be only be carried out by authorized expert personnel.
Inform the operating personnel before starting to carry out exceptional tasks and maintenance
activities! Specify named supervisors.
The machine must be secured against unintended restarts before the operator departs.
Before cleaning, all openings into which cleaning products must not penetrate for safety and/or
functional reasons must be covered and sealed. Electric motors, switches and plug cords are
particularly at risk. Remove covers/tape completely after finishing the cleaning work.
Always tighten loosened screw connections during maintenance and repair work.
If it is necessary to disassemble safety features for start-up, maintenance or repair, these devices
must be reassembled and checked immediately after the conclusion of maintenance and repair work!
Uncontrolled cooling waste water can lead immediately or later on to damage or accidents.

2.5. Notice on specific hazard categories
2.5.1. Electrical energy
Only use original fuses with the specified amperage. If a fault occurs, the machine must be switched
off immediately! Electrical work may only be carried out by certified qualified experts.
The machine’s electrical equipment must be inspected and tested at regular intervals. Defects, such
as loose connections or damaged cables, must be corrected immediately. The machine must be
labelled to ensure that nobody will start it up.
The machine must be protected from water ingress.
Never carry the device by the connection cord or pull the plug out of the socket.
Never operate the device without grounding and (P)RCD.
2.5.2. Dust
When working in narrow spaces observe any existing national regulations.
In order to minimize dust generation while cutting, a wet cut is preferable.
Use of a slurry extraction system is recommended.
When dry cutting, use an effective dust extraction system.
Do not cut any material that releases substances which are hazardous to health (asbestos) or which
could facilitate production of explosive dust or steam.
Take care cutting stone containing quartz, concrete, and paint containing lead or chrome, wood
preservers, dust from oak or box.
2.5.3. Noise
See Section 3.3
The sound pressure level can be reduced by c. 10 dB(A) by using silenced saw blades (“silent” blades).

2.6. Packaging and storage
In order to ensure sufficient protection during dispatch and transport, the machine and its components
have been carefully packed. On receipt of the machine, it should be checked for damage. The device
packaging consists of recyclable materials. Please place these into the appropriate collection
containers, so that they can go for recycling.
If there is any damage, the machine must not be operated. Damaged cables and plug connections also
present a danger and may not be used. Inform the manufacturer in this case.
If the machine is not operated immediately after unpacking, it must be protected from humidity and
dirt.
2.7. Environmental protection
Packing material, cleaning agents, used or residual operating materials, and unpacked wear parts
such as drive belts or motor oils must be sent for recycling in line with the applicable environmental
protection provisions for the place of use.
2.8. Disposal
When the device reaches the end of its service life, in particular if malfunctions occur, ensure the
worn-out device has been disabled.
Dispose of the device according to the environmental provisions valid in your country. Electrical waste
may not be disposed of with household waste. Take the expired device to a central collection point.
