STORE IDLE TOOLS. When not
in use, tools should be stored in dry, and
high or locked-up place - out of reach of children.
DON'T FORCE TOOL.

it was intended.
USE RIGHT TOOL. Don't force small tool or attachment to do the job of
a heavy-duty tool. Don't use tool for purpose not intended.
DRESS PROPERLY. Don't wear looseclothingorjewelry. They can becaught
in moving parts. Rubber gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended
when working outdoors.Wear protective haircoveringtocontain longhair.
USE SAFETY GLASSES. Also use face or dust mask if cutting operation
is dusty.
DON'T ABUSE CORD. Nevercarrytool by cordor yank
it todisconnectfrom
receptacle. Keep cord from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
SECURE WORK. Use clamps or a vise to hold work. It's safer than using
your hand and
it frees both hands to operate tool.
DON'T OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
MAINTAIN
TOOLS WITH CARE. Keep tools sharp and clean for better and
safer performance. Followinstructions for lubricating and changingacces-
sories. Inspect tool cords periodically and
if damaged, have repaired by
authorized service facility. Inspectextension cords periodicallyand replace
if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
DISCONNECTTOOLS. When not
in use, beforeservicing, and when chang-
ing accessories, such as blades, bits, cutters.

14. REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES. Form habit of checking to
see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removedfrom tool before turn-
ing
it on.
15. AVOID UNINTENTIONALSTARTING. Don't carry plugged-intool withfinger
on switch. Be sure switch is OFF when plugging
in.
16. OUTDOOR USEEXTENSIONCORDS. Whentoolisusedoutdoors, useonly
extension cords intended for use outdoors and
so marked.
17. STAY ALERT. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Don't oper-
ate tool when you are tired.
18. CHECK DAMAGEDPARTS. Beforefurther useof the tool, a guard or other
part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that
it will
operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment
of movingparts, bindingof movingparts, breakageof parts, mounting, and
any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part
that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced
by an authorized
service centerunlessotherwise indicatedelsewhere
in thisinstructionmanu-
al. Have defective switches replaced
by authorized service center. Don't
use tool if switch does not turn
it on and off.
19. GUARDAGAINST ELECTRICSHOCK. Prevent bodycontact withgrounded
surfaces. For example; pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures.
20. REPLACEMENT PARTS. When servicing, use only identical replacement
parts.
VOLTAGE WARNING: Beforeconnecting the tool toa power source (receptacle,
outlet, etc.) be sure the voltage supplied is the same as that specified on the
nameplate
of the tool. A power source with voltage greater than that specified
for the tool can result
in SERIOUS INJURY tothe user - as well as damageto
the tool. If
in doubt, DO NOT PLUG IN THE TOOL. Using a power source with
voltage less than the nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES
1. Always use protective goggles, a cap and mask when using the blower.
2. Never point the nozzle at anyone in the vicinity when using the blower.
3. Always use the dust bag when collecting dust, chips and the like.
4. Do not collect still smoldering cigarette ashes or freshly cut metal shavings.

HOW TO USE
Blowing
For dust blowing, attach nozzle to blower
outlet, turning clockwise to lock
it in
place.
Dustsuction
For dust suction, fit nozzle onto suction
inlet and dust bag onto blower outlet.
After the bag fills with dust, empty the
contents of the dust bag into
a dust binby
releasing the fastener.

Switch action
Tool speed is increased by increasing pres-
sure on the trigger.To startthetool, simply
pull the trigger.
Release the trigger to
stop. For continuous operation, pull the
trigger and then push in the lock button.
To stop the tool from the locked position,
pull the trigger fully, then release it.
A
speed controlscrew is provided so that tool
speed can be changed
at the fully-pulled
trigger position.
Turn the speed control screw clockwise
(+)
for higher speed, and counterclockwise (-1
for lower speed.
CAUTION :

Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the trigger switch actuatesproperly
and returnsto the “OFF” position when released.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION :
Always be sure that the tool is switchedoff and unpluggedbeforeattemptingto perform
inspectionand maintenance.
Replacingcarbon brushes
Remove and check the carbon brushes
regularly, Replace when they wear down
to about
6 mm (1/4") or less. Keep the
brushesclean and freetoslipinthe holders.
Both brushes should be changed
at the
same time. Use only Makitacarbonbrushes.
Loosen the screw and slide the cover plate
aside.

Take out the worn brush, insert the new I
one and secure the brush holder cap.
