Electrical safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodiedplugsandmatchingoutletswill
reduceriskofelectricshock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators.Thereisanincreasedriskofelec-
tricshockifyourbodyisearthedorgrounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet con-
ditions. Water entering a power tool will increase
theriskofelectricshock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords
increasetheriskofelectricshock.
5. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use.Useof
acordsuitableforoutdoorusereducestheriskof
electric shock.
6. If operating a power tool in a damp location
is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) protected supply.UseofanRCDreduces
theriskofelectricshock.
7. Power tools can produce electromagnetic

Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or
under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or med-

2. Use personal protective equipment. Always

3. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
switch is in the o-position before connecting
to power source and/or battery pack, picking
up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with
yourngerontheswitchorenergisingpowertools
that have the switch on invites accidents.
4. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on.Awrenchorakeyleft
attachedtoarotatingpartofthepowertoolmay
resultinpersonalinjury.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.Thisenablesbettercontrol
ofthepowertoolinunexpectedsituations.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away
from moving parts.Looseclothes,jewelleryor
longhaircanbecaughtinmovingparts.
7. If devices are provided for the connection of
dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used.Useof

8. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use
of tools allow you to become complacent and
ignore tool safety principles.Acarelessaction
cancausesevereinjurywithinafractionofa
second.
9. Always wear protective goggles to protect
your eyes from injury when using power tools.
The goggles must comply with ANSI Z87.1 in
the USA, EN 166 in Europe, or AS/NZS 1336
in Australia/New Zealand. In Australia/New
Zealand, it is legally required to wear a face
shield to protect your face, too.
It is an employer's responsibility to enforce
the use of appropriate safety protective equip-
ments by the tool operators and by other per-
sons in the immediate working area.
Power tool use and care
1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
power tool for your application.Thecorrect
powertoolwilldothejobbetterandsaferatthe
rateforwhichitwasdesigned.
2. Do not use the power tool if the switch does
not turn it on and o.Anypowertoolthatcannot
becontrolledwiththeswitchisdangerousand
mustberepaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power source
and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable,
from the power tool before making any adjust-
ments, changing accessories, or storing power
tools.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreduce
theriskofstartingthepowertoolaccidentally.
4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of chil-
dren and do not allow persons unfamiliar with
the power tool or these instructions to operate
the power tool.Powertoolsaredangerousinthe
handsofuntrainedusers.
5. Maintain power tools and accessories. Check
for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that
may aect the power tool’s operation. If dam-
aged, have the power tool repaired before use.

power tools.
6. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.Properly

Battery tool use and care
1. Recharge only with the charger specied by
the manufacturer.Achargerthatissuitablefor
onetypeofbatterypackmaycreateariskofre
whenusedwithanotherbatterypack.
2. Use power tools only with specically desig-
nated battery packs.Useofanyotherbattery
packsmaycreateariskofinjuryandre.
3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away
from other metal objects, like paper clips,
coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects, that can make a connection from one
terminal to another.Shortingthebatterytermi-
nalstogethermaycauseburnsorare.
4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If con-
tact accidentally occurs, ush with water. If
liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical
help.Liquidejectedfromthebatterymaycause
irritationorburns.
5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-
aged or modied.Damagedormodiedbatteries
mayexhibitunpredictablebehaviourresultingin
re,explosionorriskofinjury.
6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to re or
excessive temperature.Exposuretoreortem-
peratureabove130°Cmaycauseexplosion.
7. Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or tool outside the
temperature range specied in the instruc-
tions.Chargingimproperlyorattemperatures
outsidethespeciedrangemaydamagethe
batteryandincreasetheriskofre.
Service
1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualied
repair person using only identical replacement
parts.Thiswillensurethatthesafetyofthepower
tool is maintained.
2. Never service damaged battery packs.Service
ofbatterypacksshouldonlybeperformedbythe
manufacturerorauthorizedserviceproviders.
3. Follow instruction for lubricating and chang-
ing accessories.
Cordless Earth Auger safety
warnings
1. Hold the tool with both hands at the intended
handles.Lossofcontrolcancausepersonal
injury.
2. Brace the tool properly before use. Thistool
producesahighoutputtorqueandwithoutprop-
erlybracingthetoolduringoperation,lossof
controlmayoccurresultinginpersonalinjury.
3. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces, when performing an operation where
the digging accessory may contact hidden
wiring.Diggingaccessorycontactinga“live”
wiremaymakeexposedmetalpartsofthepower
tool“live”andcouldgivetheoperatoranelectric
shock.
4. Never operate at higher speed than the maxi-
mum speed rating of the earth augering bit.At
higherspeeds,thebitislikelytobendifallowed
torotatefreelywithoutcontactingtheworkpiece,
resultinginpersonalinjury.
5. Always start earth augering at low speed and
with the earth augering tip in contact with the
ground. Athigherspeeds,thebitislikelytobend
ifallowedtorotatefreelywithoutcontactingthe
ground,resultinginpersonalinjury.
6. Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit
and do not apply excessive pressure. Bits can
bendcausingbreakageorlossofcontrol,resulting
inpersonalinjury.
7. The outside diameter of the auger bit must be
within the drilling capacity specied in this
instruction manual.Incorrectlysizedaugerbit
cannotbeadequatelycontrolled.
8. Always be sure you have a rm footing. Be
sure no one is below when using the tool in
high locations.
9. Hold the tool rmly.
10. Keep hands away from rotating parts.
11. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the tool
only when hand-held.
12. Do not touch the auger bit immediately after
operation; it may be extremely hot and could
burn your skin.
13. Some material contains chemicals which may
be toxic. Take caution to prevent dust inhala-
tion and skin contact. Follow material supplier
safety data.
14. If the auger bit cannot be loosened even you
remove the auger pin, use pliers to pull it out.
Insuchacase,pullingouttheaugerbitbyhand
mayresultininjurybyitssharpedge.
15. If something wrong with the tool such as
abnormal sounds, stop operating immediately
and ask your local Makita Service Center for
repair.
16. Before operation, make sure that there is no
buried object such as electric pipe, water pipe
or gas pipe in the ground. Otherwise, the tool
maytouchthem,resultinganelectricshock,elec-
trical leakage or gas leak.

Important safety instructions for
battery cartridge
1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-
tions and cautionary markings on (1) battery
charger, (2) battery, and (3) product using
battery.
2. Do not disassemble or tamper the battery
cartridge.Itmayresultinare,excessiveheat,
orexplosion.
3. If operating time has become excessively
shorter, stop operating immediately. It may
result in a risk of overheating, possible burns
and even an explosion.
4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them
out with clear water and seek medical atten-
tion right away. It may result in loss of your
eyesight.
5. Do not short the battery cartridge:
(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-
ductive material.
(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-
tainer with other metal objects such as
nails, coins, etc.
(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to water
or rain.
A battery short can cause a large current
ow, overheating, possible burns and even a
breakdown.
6. Do not store and use the tool and battery car-
tridge in locations where the temperature may
reach or exceed 50 °C (122 °F).
7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if
it is severely damaged or is completely worn
out. The battery cartridge can explode in a re.
8. Do not nail, cut, crush, throw, drop the battery
cartridge, or hit against a hard object to the
battery cartridge.Suchconductmayresultina
re,excessiveheat,orexplosion.
9. Do not use a damaged battery.
10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject
to the Dangerous Goods Legislation require-
ments.
Forcommercialtransportse.g.bythirdparties,
forwardingagents,specialrequirementonpack-
agingandlabelingmustbeobserved.
Forpreparationoftheitembeingshipped,consult-
inganexpertforhazardousmaterialisrequired.
Pleasealsoobservepossiblymoredetailed
nationalregulations.
Tapeormaskoopencontactsandpackupthe
batteryinsuchamannerthatitcannotmove
aroundinthepackaging.
11. When disposing the battery cartridge, remove
it from the tool and dispose of it in a safe
place. Follow your local regulations relating to
disposal of battery.
12. Use the batteries only with the products
specied by Makita.Installingthebatteriesto
non-compliantproductsmayresultinare,exces-
siveheat,explosion,orleakofelectrolyte.
13. If the tool is not used for a long period of time,
the battery must be removed from the tool.
14. During and after use, the battery cartridge may
take on heat which can cause burns or low
temperature burns. Pay attention to the han-
dling of hot battery cartridges.
15. Do not touch the terminal of the tool imme-
diately after use as it may get hot enough to
cause burns.
16. Do not allow chips, dust, or soil stuck into the
terminals, holes, and grooves of the battery
cartridge.Itmayresultinpoorperformanceor
breakdownofthetoolorbatterycartridge.
17. Unless the tool supports the use near
high-voltage electrical power lines, do not use
the battery cartridge near high-voltage electri-
cal power lines.Itmayresultinamalfunctionor
breakdownofthetoolorbatterycartridge.
18. Keep the battery away from children.

Useofnon-genuineMakitabatteries,orbatteriesthat
havebeenaltered,mayresultinthebatterybursting

charger.
Tips for maintaining maximum
battery life
1. Charge the battery cartridge before completely
discharged. Always stop tool operation and
charge the battery cartridge when you notice
less tool power.
2. Never recharge a fully charged battery car-
tridge. Overcharging shortens the battery
service life.
3. Charge the battery cartridge with room tem-
perature at 10 °C - 40 °C (50 °F - 104 °F). Let
a hot battery cartridge cool down before
charging it.
4. When not using the battery cartridge, remove
it from the tool or the charger.
5. Charge the battery cartridge if you do not use
it for a long period (more than six months).

Setting up the tool
CAUTION: Always be sure that the side
handle and the reaction receiver are installed
securely before operation.
NOTICE: Do not over tighten the bolts. It may
damage the tool.
Installing the side handle
Removetheboltsshowninthegurefromthetool.
Theremovedboltisnotneededforthistoolifyouwant
tousethistoolasacordlessearthauger.
Keeptheboltssothattheyarenotlost.

Installing the reaction receiver
Placethereactionreceiversothatthebarofthereac-
tionreceivercomestotheleftsideoftheoperator.
Adjustthepositionofthereactionreceiversothatthe
axisofthedrillchuckisinthecenteroftheoperator's
body.

Tool / battery protection system
Thetoolisequippedwithatool/batteryprotectionsys-
tem.Thissystemautomaticallycutsopowertothe
motortoextendtoolandbatterylife.Thetoolwillauto-
maticallystopduringoperationifthetoolorbatteryis
placedunderoneofthefollowingconditions:
Overload protection
Whenthetool/batteryisoperatedinamannerthat
causesittodrawanabnormallyhighcurrent,thetool
stopsautomatically.Inthissituation,turnthetoolo
andstoptheapplicationthatcausedthetooltobecome
overloaded.Thenturnthetoolontorestart.

Overheat protection
Whenthetool/batteryisoverheated,thetoolstops
automatically.Inthissituation,letthetool/batterycool
beforeturningthetoolonagain.
Overdischarge protection
Whenthebatterycapacityisnotenough,thetoolstops
automatically.Inthiscase,removethebatteryfromthe
toolandchargethebattery.
Main power switch
WARNING: Always turn o the main power
switch when not in use.
Tostandbythetool,pressthemainpowerbuttonuntil
themainpowerlamplightsup.Toturno,pressthe
mainpowerbuttonagain.

NOTE:Thistoolemploystheautopower-ofunction.
Toavoidunintentionalstartup,themainpowerswitch
willautomaticallyshutdownwhentheswitchtrigger
isnotpulledforacertainperiodafterthemainpower
switchisturnedon.
Switch action
CAUTION: Before installing the battery car-
tridge into the tool, always check to see that the
switch trigger actuates properly and returns to
the “OFF” position when released.

Tostartthetool,pulltheswitchtriggerwiththemain
powerswitchon.Toolspeedisincreasedbyincreas-
ingpressureontheswitchtrigger.Releasetheswitch
trigger to stop.
NOTE:Thetoolautomaticallystopsifyoukeeppull-
ingtheswitchtriggerforabout6minutes.
Lighting up the front lamp
CAUTION: Do not look in the light or see the
source of light directly.

Pulltheswitchtriggertolightupthelamp.Thelamp
keepsonlightingwhiletheswitchtriggerisbeingpulled.
Thelampgoesoutapproximately10secondsafter
releasing the switch trigger.
NOTE: When the tool is overheated, the tool stops
automaticallyandthelampstartsashing.Inthis
case,releasetheswitchtrigger.Thelampturnsoin
5minute.
NOTE:Useadryclothtowipethedirtothelensof
thelamp.Becarefulnottoscratchthelensoflamp,or
itmaylowertheillumination.
Reversing switch action

CAUTION: Always check the direction of
rotation before operation.
CAUTION: Use the reversing switch only after
the tool comes to a complete stop. Changing the
directionofrotationbeforethetoolstopsmaydam-
age the tool.
CAUTION: When not operating the tool,
always set the reversing switch lever to the neu-
tral position.
Thistoolhasareversingswitchtochangethedirection
ofrotation.Depressthereversingswitchleverfromthe
AsideforclockwiserotationorfromtheBsideforcoun-
terclockwise rotation.
Whenthereversingswitchleverisintheneutralposi-
tion,theswitchlevercannotbepulled.
Automatic speed change function
Thistoolhas“highspeedmode”and“hightorque
mode”.
Thetoolautomaticallychangestheoperationmode
depending on the work load. When the work load is low,
thetoolwillruninthe“highspeedmode”forquicker
operation.Whentheworkloadishigh,thetoolwillrun
inthe“hightorquemode”forpowerfuloperation.

Themodeindicatorlightsupingreenwhenthetoolis
runningin“hightorquemode”.
Ifthetoolisoperatedwithexcessiveload,themode
indicatorwillblinkingreen.Themodeindicatorstops
blinkingandthenlightsuporturnsoifyoureducethe
load on the tool.

Speed change
NOTICE: Use the tool at low speed (position 1).
Otherwisethediggingoperationmaynotbeableto
completeduetoinsucienttorque.
NOTICE: Use the speed change knob only after
the tool comes to a complete stop. Changing the
toolspeedbeforethetoolstopsmaydamagethetool.
NOTICE: Always set the speed change knob
carefully into the correct position.Ifyouoperate
thetoolwiththespeedchangeknobpositionedhalf-
waybetweentheposition1andtheposition2,the
toolmaybedamaged.
Twospeedrangescanbepreselectedwiththespeed
changeknob.
Tochangethespeed,depressthelockbuttonandturn
thespeedchangeknobsothatthepointerpointstothe
position1forlowspeedortheposition2forhighspeed.

Torque limiter
Thetorquelimiterwillactuatewhenacertaintorque
levelisreachedatthelowspeedsetting(position1).
Themotorwilldisengagefromtheoutputshaft.When
thishappens,thedrillbitwillstopturning.
Strap hole
WARNING: Do not use the strap hole for
any other purpose than hanging the tool or than
anti-theft of the tool. Otherwisepersonalinjurymay
occur.

ASSEMBLY
Installing or removing battery
cartridge
CAUTION: Always switch o the tool before
installing or removing of the battery cartridge.
CAUTION: Hold the tool and the battery car-
tridge rmly when installing or removing battery

Mounting the auger bit

OPERATION
CAUTION: This is a powerful tool whitch
generates high torque. It is important that the tool
is securely held and properly braced.
CAUTION: Before operating, check that there
is no foreign matter (sand, dirt, etc.) stuck in the
openings or moving parts.
Work posture

Digging operation
CAUTION: Hold the tool rmly when operat-

保持电池最大使用寿命的提示

自动变速功能
本工具设有“高速模式”和“高转矩模式”。
本工具可根据工作负荷自动改变操作模式。
工作负荷较低时,本工具以“高速模式”
运转,进行快速操作。工作负荷较高时,
本工具则以“高转矩模式”运转,进行强力
操作。

当本工具以“高转矩模式”运转时,模式指
示灯呈绿色亮起。
工具过载操作时,模式指示灯呈绿色闪烁。
降低工具上的负载后,模式指示灯停止闪
烁,然后亮起或熄灭。

注意: 请务必在低速下(位置1)使用
工具。否则将由于扭矩不足无法完成挖掘
操作。
注意: 请在工具完全停止后使用变速
钮。在工具停止前改变工具速度可能会损
坏工具。
注意: 请务必小心将变速钮置于正确位
置。在变速钮处于位置1与位置2之间的半
位时操作工具,会使工具受损。
使用变速钮可以预选两种速度范围。
要改变速度时,请按锁定按钮并转动变速
钮,使指针指向位置1进行低速操作,或指
向位置2进行高速操作。

扭矩限制器
当扭矩在低速设定(位置1)下达到一定的
水平时,扭矩限制器将会启动。电机会从输
出轴脱离。这时钻头将会停止旋转。
挂绳孔
警告: 此挂绳孔仅用于悬挂工具或防
盗之用,不得用作其他用途。否则,可能
会导致人身伤害。

装配
安装或拆卸电池组
小心: 安装或拆卸电池组之前,请务
必关闭工具电源。
小心: 安装或拆卸电池组时请握紧工
具和电池组。否则它们可能从您的手中滑
落,导致工具和电池组受损,甚至造成人
身伤害。

拆卸电池组时,按下电池组前侧的按钮,同
时将电池组从工具中抽出。
安装电池组时,要将电池组上的舌簧与外罩
上的凹槽对齐,然后推滑到位。将其完全插
入到位,直到电池组被锁定并发出卡嗒声为
止。如果插入后仍能看到按钮上侧的红色指
示器,则说明电池组未完全锁紧。

小心: 务必完全装入电池组,直至看
不见红色指示器为止。否则,它可能会
从工具中意外脱落,从而造成自身或他人
受伤。
小心: 请勿强行安装电池组。如果电
池组难以插入,可能是插入方法不当。
安装螺旋钻头
小心: 对工具进行任何装配操作前,
请务必关闭工具电源,并取出电池组。
小心: 将钻头转接头安装在卡盘上
时,确保钻头转接头完全嵌入对应位置。
小心: 将螺旋钻头安装在钻头转接头
上时,确保螺旋钻头销钉已锁定,并检查
螺旋钻头销钉有无损坏。
小心: 搬运工具时,请拆下工具上的
螺旋钻头。
安装或拆下钻头转接头
若要安装螺旋钻头,请提前安装钻头转接头。
若要安装钻头转接头,应将钻头转接头装入
卡盘并尽可能将其推至底部。用手转动套筒
将卡盘拧紧。
将卡盘键放入卡盘孔中并顺时针拧紧。请务
必均匀旋紧三个卡盘孔。
拆下钻头转接头时,将卡盘键插入一个孔中
并逆时针旋转,然后用手拧松卡盘。

使用后,请将卡盘键放回至如图所示的工具
存储凹槽内。

将螺旋钻头安装在钻头转接头上
注: 螺旋钻头和销钉的形状和工作机制可
能因螺旋钻头不同而异。
将钻头转接头上的孔与螺旋钻头上的孔对齐。
将螺旋钻头置于钻头转接头上。

利用螺旋钻头销钉和安全锁将螺旋钻头固定。

操作
小心: 本工具是一种可产生大扭矩的
强力工具。操作过程中牢固抓持并妥善支
撑工具非常重要。
小心: 操作前,请检查孔口处或移动部
件内部有无异物(沙子、污垢等)卡住。
工作姿势
保持正确的操作位置是有效控制工具反弹的
最重要方式之一。
请遵照以下要点练习,保持适当位置。
•摆放工具时确保反作用力接收器杆始终
与操作员腰部左侧接触。
•双手抓握把手和侧手柄。手指包住握持区
域,同时用拇指和食指握紧握持区域。
•在挖掘过程中根据需要弯曲双腿,同时
尽可能保持背部挺直。
•时刻注意工具扭矩的反作用力。同时确
保工作位置能够承受扭矩的反作用力。

接收器杆
警告: 注意避免工作位置不当。站立
位置不得距离工具过远。否则工具反弹时
无法采取正确的措施并控制反作用力。
