Please read this user manual carefully before starting to use the accessories. The user manual includes important safety
information. Make sure that you always have access to digital or printed version of the user manual.

Comply with the safety instructions contained in the Careclave user manual for the installation, operation
and maintenance of the Careclave accessories. Use the accessories only for the Careclave. Failure to
comply with the safety instructions can result in injury or damage to the device.

The Carebox Blue/Green is used for reprocessing instruments and hollow bodies in the Careclave 618. The instruments
must be fixed on the adapters provided for this purpose. Reprocessing of instruments that are not attached to adapters is
not possible.
The Carebox Blue is used for the reprocessing of instruments that must be maintained with maintenance oil.
The Carebox Green is used for the reprocessing of instruments and hollow bodies that must not be maintained with
maintenance oil.

Adapter for ultrasound and air scaler tips
Intended use
The adapters serve to clean the interiors of ultrasonic and scaler tips (e.g. ZEG tips).
A constantly updated overview of the compatibility of adapters for tips can be found on the MELAG website. Only the in-
struments listed on the website and those listed below are compatible.

Adapter installation
Comply with the following for safe handling:
nThe Carebox Blue is used for the reprocessing of instruments that must be maintained with maintenance oil.
nThe Carebox Green is used for the reprocessing of instruments that must not be maintained with maintenance oil.
nUse only original accessories.
The following must be fulfilled or present:
üThe adapters for transmission instruments, hollow-body instruments or unused connections.
üA new sealing washer, a new O-ring and screws for each adapter.
üA TX6 screwdriver.
1. Loosen and remove the screws of the existing adapter.
2. Remove the adapter.
3. Remove the sealing washer and any residue from the seal.
Be careful not to scratch the seal face of the Carebox.
4. Insert the new sealing washer by aligning it with the recess and hole
pattern.
5. Insert the new O-ring into the adapter.
6. Insert the new adapter by aligning it with the recess.

7. Screw the adapter tight.
8. Perform theCarebox test.
Instructions for installing and using the adapter for external spray
channels
Use the adapter to flush external spray channels of transmission instruments.
1. It is recommended to install the external spray channel adapter in
position 3 or 6 so that the external spray channels can be well
connected to the hoses.
2. Cut the silicone hose included in the delivery to the required
length so that the silicone hose neither sags and forms loops nor
is too tight.
3. Plug the hose onto the adapter for external spray channels.
4. Plug the instrument onto the matching adapter.
5. Connect the hose to the external spray channel.

Instructions on installing the M8 x 1 adapter, eccentric
1. Screw the lower section of the adapter tightly.
2. Check whether the O-ring is present in the upper section of the
adapter and insert the same, if necessary.
3. Screw the upper section onto the lower section.
4. Screw in the adapter for the instrument.

Instructions for installing the adapter for KaVo / BienAir elbow heads
1. Plug the adapter for KaVo/BienAir elbow heads onto an ISO
adapter.
2. Check that the adapter is firmly seated.
Instructions for installing the adapter for Midwest connection (4/5 hole)
1. Turn the union nut and the snap ring of the adapter with the release
into the position of the screw connection.
2. Screw the adapter tight.

Intended use
The mounts serve the acceptance of trays, MELAstore Boxes or sterilization containers.
Safety
Please adhere to the safety instructions listed below when using the accessories. Use the accessories only
for the purpose stated in this user manual.
nHold the mount level when removing it from the steam sterilizer. Otherwise, the load could slide off.
nMake sure that the mount does not slip out unintentionally when the mount is loaded directly in the steam sterilizer or
when the load is removed separately from the steam sterilizer.
nNever touch the sterilised items, the sterilisation chamber, other parts in the sterilisation chamber or the inside of the
door with unprotected hands. The parts may be hot.
nUse suitable aids such as a tray lifter or protective gloves to remove the sterilised items in order to avoid burns.
Application
Comply with the information in the user manual of your steam sterilizer relating to use of the mounts.
Mounts
The “Plus” mounts are fitted with slide clips on their edges. These protect the chamber against scratches and simplify the
sliding in and out of the mount during loading and unloading. The scope of delivery of the mounts includes further re-
placement slide clips. Remove the bag with the slide clips before first use. Replace any slide clips exhibiting visible wear
immediately, see section Replacing the slide clips [}page18].

Cleaning and maintenance
Inspect the mount on a weekly basis for soiling, deposits or damage.
If you find any impurities, remove the trays or cassettes from the chamber from the front. Clean the soiled components.
When cleaning the mount for loading, trays etc. comply with the following:
nEnsure that the sterilization chamber is not hot.
nUse a soft, non-fuzzing cloth.
nFirst soak the cloth with the cleaning alcohol or spirit and attempt to wipe away impurities.
nUse a chlorine- and vinegar-free cleaning fluid.
nA mild, non-scouring, stainless steel cleaning agent, with a pH value between 5 and 8 should only be used for
persistent soiling.
nRemove all cleaning fluid residue after cleaning the mount.
nDo not use any hard objects such as a metal saucepan cleaner or a steel brush.
Replacing the slide clips
Proceed as follows to replace any slide clips which show signs of wear:
1. Remove the damaged slide clip by levering it upwards carefully
using a small slotted screwdriver. Ensure that the wires do not suffer
kinking or crushing.
2. Press the new slide clip into the same position on the wire cross on
the metal bar until it snaps into position.
