1. Introduction
MPM/MDM series transmitting controllers are multi-functional
instruments for pressure, differential pressure and level measurement
and control which consists of MPM/MDM484C, MPM/MDM460,
MPM460W, MPM/MDM484ZL. This series of products are all-electronic
structure, which can measure, display and control on-site pressure,
differential pressure and level. It could output standard signals, and
realize network transmission and remote setting and calibration for
transmitting controllers’ parameters based on RS485 (Modbus RTU
protocol) bus. With easy operation and calibration, it is widely used in
various industries like hydro-power, tap water, water treatment,
petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, etc. It can realize the
measurement, display and control of pressure, differential pressure and
liquid level of fluid medium.

2. Safety alarm
Please read this manual carefully before operation and make
the connection according to the electrical definition of each
product.
Do not calibrate the transmitter when there is no standard
pressure source. If you need to adjust it, please operate it by
professional persons
Please do not touch the corrugated diaphragm with your
hands or sharp objects to avoid damaging the sensor.
In case of strong interference, the housing should be well
grounded.

5.2 MPM460, MPM460W, MDM460 inner electric connection
Note: 1. After the wiring is completed, lock the cable and restore the front panel as it
is to maintain the original protection level of the product.
2.Wire diameter of connection terminal is 0.2 mm2~1.5mm2.

Note:
1. please do not use AC 220V and DC 24V at the same time;
2. if there is no need for terminal’s function in purchase order, the
terminal will not connect with any circuit. It’s null;
3. Terminal 19# is for grounding, if necessary, please connect
grounding wire reliably;
4. please power on after checking system and circuit.
6. Key Calibration
6.1. Indicator and key introduction
Indicator includes main indicator and deputy indicator (not including
484C series). Main indicator displays current measuring pressure value

at measurement status; displays current parameter virtual value at setup
status. In all states, the secondary display shows the current system
status or limit value and cannot be changed individually. There are three
keys on frond board, ▲, SET, and ▼ keys.

Note:
1.MPM484ZL has no“AL-6” to“AL-8F”; MPM484C has no“AL-6”to“AL-8F”,“F--L” and
deputy display. All the information will be shown on main display if it has no deputy
display;
2.Baud rate: 0/1200,1/2400,2/4800,3/9600,4/19200,5/38400,6/57600,7/115200;
3.Relay property: “0” indicates the lower limit alarm, “1” indicates upper limit alarm;
4. “Zero output display” and “span output display” Used to adjust the output analog
quantity, The default is consistent with "zero display" and "full display";
5. "Common hysterisis" : it is used to eliminate the jitter of pressure at the critical
point of limit value, and the default value is 0;
6. "Second screen display": 0(default) Display "U--U"; 1~5(484ZL)/1~8(460) display
the corresponding limit value, 6 and 7(484ZL)/ 9 and 10 (460) display the zero
display and full span value;
7."Return factory" : set "1" and press the "confirm" button, the meter will immediately
restore the factory Settings, the default is "0" FAct indicates menu entering, “1”
means “restore to factory”. Default is “0”.
7. Installation
7.1 MPM484C, MPM460, MPM484ZL
The pressure port for MPM484C, MPM460, MPM484ZL controllers is
M20x1.5 male waterline seal. For flush diaphragm transmitting controller,
pressure port is G1/2 male with seal cushion. The controller could be
installed to flange connector on measuring tube directly. Please add

cut-off valve between flange connector and tube for easy installation and
repair.
There is one nylon protection cap on the pressure port of flush
diaphragm type controllers. Please do not take off the cap to protect
diaphragm if the user does not install.
Please mount controller to pressure port M20X1.5 female, the screw
depth should be less than 20mm (there should be a seal-ring on the type
face). Pressure port G1/2 female’s depth should be no less than 15mm.
Please do not wrap tape on pressure port G1/2 male to seal. This would
affect product stability or damage product.
7.2 MDM484C, MDM484ZL, MDM460
The pressure ports for standard MDM484A, MDM484ZL differential
pressure controller are two G1/4 female. Marked with “+“ is high (positive)
pressure side; marked with “-“ is low (negative) pressure side. The
transmitter should be connected to process tube together with 3 valve
manifolds by pressure leading tube. Pressure leading tube’s high
(positive) pressure side connects to pressure port marked “+”; pressure
leading tube’s low (negative) pressure side connects to pressure port
marked “-”. Please make two pressure port horizontal for right installation
position, and make indicator facts to worker directly.
For normal operation and easy installation, please install 3 valve

manifolds between controller and measuring point; pressure port G1/4
male’s length should be no more than 12mm, and sealed by seal
cushion.
Note:
(1) process operation pressure should be no more than 20MPa.
(2) the measured media differential pressure should not exceed upper limit
pressure.
(3) Open 3 valve manifold to prevent that one single pressure acts on transmitting
controller to protect product.
(4) Media should be compatible with construction material.
(5) Pressure port marked with “+” and ”-”. This will keep correct connection.
7.3 MPM460W
Standard MPM460W level transmitting controller is submersible type and
the installation direction is vertical down.
8. Communication protocol
The products uses standard Modbus RTU protocol (03: read register,
06: set single register).

Pressure value =1001*0.01=10.01
Note: The pressure value read is hexadecimal number, convert it to decimal number,
divided by the decimal point value (0: divided by 1; 1: divided by 10; 2: divided by
100; 3: divided by 1000) and then get real-time pressure values.
9. Responsibility
Within one year from the delivery date, we shall repair or replace the
instrument with any quality fault caused by material parts or our
manufacturing technique free of charge. For non-quality malfunction
during user’s operation, we are in charge of repair. But the material cost
and the shuttle transportation fees should be borne by users.
