Never activate any switches with
wet hands as it may cause an

•If the air conditioner is to be used
in conjunction with other heating
appliances, the air in the room
should be refreshed periodically,
•Always switch the unit off at the
Mains switch if the unit is not
going to be used for any lengthy
period of time.
•Always switch off the air
conditioner during an electrical
storm otherwise, electrical parts
may get damaged.
•Check that the condensate
drainage line is correctly
connected. If not, water will
escape onto furnishings in the
room
•For electrical safety purposes it is
recommended that unit is
installed with an earth leakage
circuit-breaker.

NOTE:
1. Optimum performance will be achieved within these operating temperatures however capacities
reduce as Outdoor ambient approaches the limits. If air conditioner is used outside of the above
conditions, certain safety protection features might come into operation and cause the unit to
function abnormally.
2. If the air conditioner runs for a long time in cooling mode and the humidity is high (over 80%),
condensed water may drip from the unit. In this instance please set the vertical air flow louver to its
maximum angle (vertically to the floor) and set HIGH fan mode.

Manual Operation
Units are equipped with a switch to run an emergency
operation mode. It can be accessed by opening the
ront panel. This switch is used or manual operation in
case the remote controller ails to work or maintenance
is necessary.
NOTE:
The unit must be turned o be ore operating the
manual control button. I the unit is operational,
continue pressing the manual control button until the
unit is o .
Manual Operation (Continued)
1) Open and li t the ront panel up to an angle
until it remains ixed with a clicking sound.
2) One press o the manual control switch will
lead to the orced AUTO operation. I pressed
twice within ive seconds, the unit will operate
under orced COOL operation.
3) Close the panel irmly to its original position.
C UTION:
This switch is normally used or testing purposes only.
Please do not use it unless necessary. To restore the
remote controller operation, use the remote controller
directly.
• Adjust the air low direction properly, otherwise
it might cause discom ort or cause uneven
room temperatures.
• Adjust the horizontal louver using the remote
controller.
djusting vertical air flow (Up--Down)
Per orm this unction while the unit is in
operation. Use the remote controller to adjust
the vertical air low direction by pressing the
Swing button The horizontal louver will
start non-stop up/down swing. The indoor unit
displays “on” or a second then reverts back to
the Temperature display. I you press the
button again, horizontal louver stops at the
angle it as o that moment and unit displays
“o ” or a second.
djusting horizontal air flow (left - right)
Again, press this button or 2 seconds
to start/stop vertical louver movement (Le t to
right). Pressing again or 2 seconds will stop
le t to right movement at angle when button
was pressed.
IMPORT NT: Do not put your ingers into the air vents
as the high-speed an inside may cause injury.
Do not operate the air conditioner or long periods with
the air low direction set downward in cooling or
dehumidi ying mode otherwise condensation may
orm on the sur ace o the horizontal louver causing
moisture to drop on to the loor or on urnishings.
A ter a quick restart, the horizontal louver may remain
static or approximately 10 seconds. Open angle o the
horizontal louver should not be set too small, as
COOLING or HEATING per ormance may be reduced
due to too restricted air low area. Do not move the
horizontal louver manually, otherwise the horizontal
louver will be out o sync. I this happens, please
cease operating, disconnect power or a ew seconds
and then restart the air conditioner.

How the ir Conditioner Works.
Basic operation modes:
UTO/COOL/DRY/HE T
When you set the air conditioner in AUTO mode, it will
automatically select cooling, heating or an only
operation depending on your required SET
temperature and the current room temperature.
The air conditioner will control room temperature
automatically to the temperature point you set.
I you eel uncom ortable in the AUTO mode, you can
set your desired temperature.
SLEEP OPER TION
When selected, the set temperature will increase
(cooling) or decrease (heating) by 1
O
C per hour or the
irst 2 hours. Therea ter it keeps this new temperature
or 5 hours be ore switching o .
This operation saves energy and improves night time
com ort by synchronising with the body’s metabolism.
DRYING OPER TION
The temperature is regulated while dehumidi ying by
The unit repeating turning on and o the cooling
operation or an only. The an speed is set to LOW.
HE TING OPER TION
This air conditioner operates on the heat-pump
principle, absorbing heat rom air outdoors and
trans erring that heat to the indoor unit. As a result, the
operating per ormance is reduced as outdoor air
temperature drops.

OPTIM L OPER TION
To achieve optimal per ormance, please note the
ollowing:
Adjust the air low direction correctly so that it is not
torwards people.
Adjust the temperature to achieve moderate com ort
levels. Excessively low or high temperature waste
energy.
Improve per ormance by keeping windows and doors
closed.
Limit energy usage (run time) by using the TIMER
unction.
Do not put any object near air inlet or air outlet, as the
e iciency o the air conditioner may be reduced and
may cause the air conditioner to stop running.
Inspect the air ilters periodically, and clean them when
needed.

Special functions
Louver ngle Memory Function:
Within the scope o louver angle sa ety, the
horizontal louver angle is memorised and will return to
the position last selected by the user.
I last angle exceeds the believed sa e angle, it will
memorise as close as possible to last position
selected. This will not happen when Turbo or manual
control buttons are pressed or a ter a power
interruption.
We strongly suggest that the open angle o the
horizontal louver should not be set too small, in case
condensed water orms and drips rom the horizontal
louver.
SELF CLE N function
Airborne bacteria use the moisture on the indoor heat
exchanger (Evaporator) to grow. Regular drying o the
exchanger (Evaporator) prevents this growth.
By simply choosing the SELF CLEAN function, the
system will automatically manage the process. This
cleaning action may be done as requently as desired.
The unit will operate in the ollowing sequence:
FAN mode at Low an speed—Heating operation with
LOW an speed ---FAN operation--Stop Operation---
Turn o .
Note:
• This unction is only activated in COOLING
or DRY mode.
• Be ore activation it is recommended the air
conditioner has been running or 30 minutes
under cooling operation.
• Pressing the SELF CLEAN or ON/OFF
button again during the cleaning cycle will
cancel the operation and turn the unit o .
nti-mildew function
When unit is turned o in COOL, DRY,AUTO (Cool)
mode, the air conditionerwill continue operating or
about 10 minutes with very low air low. This will help to
dry up the condensed water inside the evaporator,
and help prevent mildew growth. Under Anti-mildew
operation, do not restart the air conditioner until the
unit is completely o .
nto-restart function
A ter a power interruption such as a
blackout, the air conditioner stops but it restarts
automatically and per orms previous operation when
the power supply returns.
WIFI Control Function (optional)
I optional WIFI Kit has been installed, the unit can be
controlled either by the supplied remote controller or
by Smart phone.
(Instructions are supplied with optional WIFI kit)
ir Filter Reminding Function
Cleaning filter reminding function:
A ter 240 hours o operation, the indoor
unit display window will display and lash
CL .
This is a reminder to clean the Air Filters or more
e icient operation. A ter 15 seconds, the system will
revert back to the previous display again. When the
CL indicator appears and lashes, please press
button on remote controller or 4 times or press
the Manual control button or 3 or more times to clear
the registered hours, otherwise the
CL indicator will
display and lash again or another 15 seconds the
next time the unit is started
Replacing filter reminding function:
A ter 2880 hours o operation, the indoor
display window will display and lash
nF.
This eature is a reminder to replace the Air
Filter or more e icient operation. A ter 15 seconds,
the system will revert back to the previous display
again. When the
nF indicator appears and lashes,
please press the button on remote controller or 4

times or press the Manual control button or 3 or more
times to clear the registered hours, otherwise the
nF
indicator will display and lash again or another 15
seconds the next time the unit is started
Mute operation
DO NOT DISTURB BUTTON
Press this button on the remote to turn o the indoor
screen display and also to turn o the Air conditioner
Buzzer. The an speed shi ts to low which creates a
com ortable and quiet environment.
Pressing the button again cancels this unction.

Care & Maintainence.
Before any maintainence, please ensure unit is
switched off:
W RNING:
Servicing shall only be per ormed as recommended by
the equipment manu acturer.
Basic maintenance can be done by the consumer
however any Repairs to this equipment requires skilled
personnel competent in the use o lammable
re rigerants.
Please Contact MIDE CUSTOMER & TECH
SUPPORT on 1300 726 002 for further advice.
Do not use any chemically treated cloth or duster to
clean the unit.
Do not use benzine, thinners, polishing powder or
similar solvents or cleaning. These may cause
the plastic sur ace to crack or de orm.
Never use water hotter than 40
O
C to clean
the ront panel (or air ilters) as it could cause
de ormation or discoloration.
Cleaning the air filter and air freshening filter
A clogged air ilter reduces the cooling e iciency o
this unit. It is reccomended to clean the ilter once
every 2 weeks.
1. Open the ront panel by care ully li ting both
ends at the same time. At a certain angle, a
clicking sound is heard and it becomes sel -
supporting. For some models please use the
suspension bars to prop up the panel.
2. Use the tab provided to move the ilter irst up
a little, then slightly towards you. Now extract
the ilter by gently drawing downwards.
3. Unclip the small air reshening ilter rom the
large air ilter. Clean it with vacuum, and
replace it occasionally.
4. Clean the large air ilter with soapy water.
Rinse with resh water. Shake o excess water
and dry it in a cool place. (May shrink i put
into sunny position)
Preparation for extended non-operation





Pre-season inspection
I the unit has been idle or a long time, please check
andcleanthe indoorunitanditsfilters.
The outdoor unit requires periodic maintenance
and cleaning. It is suggested you contact your dealer
or service provider who will inspect or damaged or
disconnected wires, check or water or oil leaks and
check i the air outlets or inlets have been blocked
while unit has been idle.

Troubleshooting Tips
The ollowing events may occur during normal operation, and may not indicate mal unction.
SYMPTOM
Possible Cause
Operation is delayed
after restart
To prevent uses blowing, the compressor will not operate
while the protection circuit is working or about 3 minutes
a ter sudden OFF—ON operation o the power supply
Fan speed changes to off, very slow and then normal
This automatically happens in heating mode :
-- prevents cold air blowing onto occupants when the
heating operation is irst started.
-- during automatic de rosting operation,
-- during low temperature heating operation
Heating operation stops suddenly and defrost-light
blinks on indoor unit
In HEAT mode, the indoor unit may temporarily stop or
maximum o 10 minutes to per orm the automatic
de rosting operation
Mist coming out of the indoor unit
In COOL mode, a mist generated by condensation
ormed by sudden cooling process may be emitted.
Mist may also be seen due to moisture generated rom
de rosting process when the air conditioner restarts in
HEAT mode operation a ter de rosting.
Low volume sounds are emitted by the air
conditioner
Hissing sound-- during operation or immediately a ter
stopping the air conditioner a re rigerant lowing sound
may be heard
Squeaking sound-- normal expansion and contraction o
plastic and metal parts caused by temperature change
during operation.
Rushing air-- when louver resets its position.
Dust discharges from indoor unit May occur when air conditioner is used or the irst time or
has not been used or a long time.
Emits a peculiar odour
Various smells generated rom interior textiles, urniture,
or cigarette smoke absorbed into the air conditioner may
be emitted. ny burning smell must be reported
immediately.
Changes to fan speed only while cooling or heating
mode
Room temperature has reached the temperature setting
o the remote control.

Operation is erratic, unpredictable or unresponsive
Inter erence rom cell phone towers and remote boosters
may cause the unit to mal unction. Flourescent lighting
can also inter ere with signal transmission rom Remote.
Disconnect the power and then re-connect.
Press the ON/OFF button on the remote controller to
restart operation.

Troubleshooting Guide
Be ore you call or or request servicing, troubleshoot a problem by per orming ollowing checks:

-- Are the batteries used in the remote controller
exhausted?

Poor cooling or heating performance
-- Are the air ilters dirty?
-- Is air low unrestricted in & out o indoor & outdoor
units?
-- Are the temperature and mode settings correct?
-- Have the windows or doors been le t opened?
-- Is an speed on high and louvers allowing maximum
low?
-- Is direct or strong sunlight shining into the room in
cooling operation?
-- Are there other heating devices or computers
operating, or too many people in the room in cooling
operation?
-- Is the SILENCE unction is activated? Under SILENCE
operation, noise reduction is prioritized and the air -
conditioning per ormance may become lower.
Indicator lamps continue flashing
-- The unit may stop operation or continue to run in a
sa ety condition (depending on models). Waiting or about
10 minutes, the ault may be recovered automatically. i
not, disconnect the power and then connect it again. I
the problem still exists, disconnect the power and contact
the customer service center.
Error code appears on the indoor unit such as:
E0,E1,E2.... P1,P2,P3.....or F1, F2,F3
I the problem persists a ter you have per ormed these checks or diagnostics, immediately stop operation
and contact the authorized service center. Be sure to in orm them details mal unctions and unit model number.
In the case of NY of the following, turn off the unit immediately!
-- Power cord is damaged or abnormally warm.
-- Burning odous are smelled.
-- Loud or abnormal sounds are heard.
-- Power fuse keeps blowing or a circuit breaker trips frequently.
-- Water or other objects fall into or out of the unit.

Operation of Remote Control
Buttons.
1. ON/OFF BUTTON.
This button turns the Air Conditioner ON or
OFF
2. UP BUTTON
Press this button to increase the desired SET
temperature o the Air Conditioner or to
increase the Timer setting hours.
DOWN BUTTON
Press this button to decrease the desired SET
temperature o the Air Conditioner or to
decrease the Timer setting hours.
3. F N BUTTON
Used to select the an speed in our steps:
HIGH→MED→ LOW→ AUTO
NOTE:
• Hold down this button or at least 2
seconds to activate or cancel Silent
mode. Due to low requency operation
o the compressor, Silent mode may
result in insu icient cooling and
heating per ormance.
• Pressing the Fan button ,
MODE button , ON/OFFbutton
or ECO buttonwillcancelthe
Silentmode.
4. F N BUTTON
Used to select the an speed in our steps:
AUTO→LOW→ MED→ HIGH Fan speeds
cannot be altered when unit is running in
AUTO or DRY mode.
NOTE:
• Hold down this button or at least 2
seconds to activate or cancel Turbo
mode. Turbo unction enables the unit
to reach the pre-set temperature in
cooling or heating operation in the
shortest time.

5. SWING BUTTON
Used to stop or start horizontal louver
movement (Up & Down). Pressing alternates
either continuous swing up & down or at angle
when button is pressed. Hold down this button
or 2 seconds to start/stop vertical louver
movement (Le t to right). Pressing again or 2
seconds will stop le t to right movement at
angle when button was pressed.

6. SET BUTTON
Used to initiate the ollowing unctions in the
sequences below when used in conjunction
with the & buttons.
Timer on → Timer off → Self clean → Fresh
→ Sleep → Follow me
Press the SET button to select the desired
unction, the selected symbol will lash on the
remote’s display area and then press the
or buttons to con irm.
SLEEP unction
This unction maintains the most com ortable
temperature while sleeping and saves energy as well.
This unction is available in COOL, HE T and UTO
modes only.
When selected, the set temperature will increase (in
cooling mode) or decrease (in heating mode) by 1
O
C
per hour or the irst 2 hours. Therea ter it keeps this
new temperature or 5 hours be ore switching o .

FRESH unction (not enabled for ustralian
models)
SELF CLE N unction
Under SELF CLEAN mode, the air conditioner will
automatically clean and dry the Evaporator and keep it
resh or the next operation period.
Airborne bacteria use the moisture on the indoor
Evaporator to grow. Regular drying o the Evaporator
prevents this growth.
By simply selecting the SELF CLEAN unction, the
system will automatically manage the process. This
cleaning action may be done as requently as desired.
For Australian Reverse Cycle models the unit will
operate in the ollowing sequence:
FAN mode at Low an speed—Heating operation with
LOW an speed ---FAN operation--Stop Operation---
Turn o .
Note:
This unction is only activated in COOLING or DRY
modes.
It is recommended to run the air conditioner under
cooling operation or at least 30 minutes be ore this
unction is activated.
Selecting SELF CLE N or pressing the ON/OFF
button again during the cleaning cycle will cancel the
operation and turn the unit o .
FOLLOW ME
When the Follow Me unction is activated, the remote
display is actual temperature at the remotes location.
The remote control will send this signal to the air
conditioner at 3 minute intervals until Follow Me is
turned o .

7. ECO BUTTON
Used to enter the energy e icient mode.
When in cooling mode and a ter pressing this
button the remote controller will adjust the
temperature automatically to 24
O
C and a an
speed o Auto to save energy (but only i the
previous set temperature was less than 24
O
C)
I the user selected set temperature is between
24
O
C and 30
O
C, a ter the ECO button is
pressed, the an speed will change to Auto but
the set temperature will remain unchanged.
NOTE:
Pressing the ON/OFF button, changing the mode or
adjusting the set temperature to less than 24
O
C will
stop ECO operation.
Under ECO operation, the set temperature should be
24
O
C or more. I you eel uncom ortable due to
insu icient cooling in this mode then just press the
ECO button again to stop it.
8. MODE BUTTON
Press this button to modi y the air conditioner
mode in a sequence o ollowing:
UTO → COOL → DRY → HE T → F N

Press this button to turn o the indoor screen
Display and also to turn o the Air conditioner
Buzzer. The an speed shi ts to low which

the mode, set temperature or an speed, etc.
10. LOCK FUNCTION
Locking and unlocking the remote is done by
pressing the ECO and the
DO NOT DISTURB buttons together at
the same time.

uto operation
When unit is irst installed and connected to power the
OPERATION indicator on the display panel o the
indoor unit starts lashing.
1. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air
conditioner.

Cooling /Heating/Fan or Dehumidifying operation

Timer operation
To Set the uto - On Time
Pressing the SET button is used to set the auto-on/o
time o the unit.
1. Press the SET button , the Timer on
indicator " " displays and lashes,
the last Auto-on setting time and the signal
"h" will be shown on the LCD display area.
Now it is ready to reset the Auto-on time to
START the operation.
2. Press the or button to your
desired Auto-on time. Each time you press the
button, the time increases/decreases by hal
hour increments between 0 and 10 hours and
by one hour increments between 10 and 24
hours.
3. Once your desired time on is reached there will
be a three second delay be ore the remote
controller transmits the signal to the air
conditioner. Then the signal "h" will
disappear, the Timer on indicator will remain
on and the Set temperature will re-appear on
the LCD display window.

The TIMER ON eature is use ul when you want
the unit to turn on automatically be ore you return
home. The air conditioner will automatically start
operating at the set time.
Example:
To start the air conditioner in 6 hours.
1. Press the SET button to select TIMER
ON, the last setting o starting operation time
and the signal "h" will show on the display
area.
2. Press the or button to display
"6.0h " on the TIMER ON display o the remote
controller.
3. Wait or three seconds and the digital display
area will show the temperature again.
The " " indicator remains on and
this unction is activated .
TIMER OFF
( uto off operation)
The TIMER OFF eature is use ul when you want
the unit to turn o automatically, maybe a ter you go to
bed. The air conditioner will automatically stop
operating at the set time.
Example:
To stop the air conditioner in 10 hours.
1. Press the SET button to select TIMER
OFF, the last setting o stopping operation time
and the signal "h" will show on the display
area.
2. Press the or button to display
"10.0h " on the TIMER OFF display o the
remote controller.
3. Wait or three seconds and the digital display
area will show the temperature again.
The " " indicator remains on and
this unction is activated .

COMBINED TIMER
(Setting both ON and OFF timers simultaneously)

conditioner a ter you go to bed and start it again in
the morning when you wake up or when you return
home.
Example:
To stop the air conditioner 2 hours a ter setting and
start it again 10 hours a ter setting.
1. Press the SET button to select TIMER
OFF.
2. Press the or button to display
2.0h on the TIMER OFF display.
3. Press the SET button to select TIMER
ON.
4. Press the or button to display 10h
on the TIMER ON display

Make sure the remote controller is always used within
a distance o 8 meters rom the air conditioner indoor
unit, pointing it towards the receiver. Reception is
con irmed by a beep.
The following cases signify exhausted batteries.
Replace old batteries with new ones.
Receiving beep is not emitted when a signal
is transmitted.
Indicator fades away.
Location of the remote controller.
REPLACING THE BATTERIES:
The following situations signify exhausted batteries.
Always replace old batteries with new ones.
Receiving beep is not emitted when a signal
is transmitted or the screen on the controller fades.
The remote controller is powered by two dry cell
batteries (AAA) housed in the back rear part and
protected by a cover.
1) Remove the cover at the rear of the
remote controller.
2) Remove the old batteries and insert the new
batteries, placing the (+) and (-) ends
correctly.
3) Re-Install the cover back on.
NOTE: When the batteries are removed, the
remote ontroller erases all programming. After
inserting new batteries, the remote ontroller must
be reprogrammed.
C UTION:
The air conditioner will not operate i curtains,
doors or other materials block the signals rom
the remote controller to the indoor unit.
Prevent any liquid rom entering into the
remote controller. Do not expose the remote
controller to direct sunlight or heat.
I the in rared signal receiver on the indoor
unit is exposed to direct sunlight, the air
conditioner may not unction properly. Use
curtains to prevent the sunlight rom alling on
the receiver.
I other electrical appliances inter ere with the
remote controller, either move these
appliances or consult your local dealer.
Be care ul not drop the remote controller,
place heavy objects on it or step on it.
