ATTENTION!

WARNING!
XBM remote start can ONLY be installed on
vehicles that have the following factory options:
Automatic Transmission
Remote Keyless Entry
Immobilizer
Download the following Service Manual documents from Dealer Connect
before proceeding with installation.
1. WIN module replacement procedure.
The installation procedures differ between SKIM(WCM) and WinFobik
based vehicles. With the WinFobik based vehicle, the sales code must be
added to the database and the Restore Vehicle Configuration (using the
StarSCAN tool) must be performed prior to installing the new WIN mod-
ule. Failure to do so will render the WIN module’s remote start function
inoperative.
The technician should wait 1/2 hour between adding XBM sales code in
DealerConnect before installing the WIN module & restoring vehicle
configuration. In the interim, the technician can install all other compo-
nents except the WIN module.

1. Lower one or more of the passenger windows so the keys do not get locked in the ve-
hicle.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. The battery will need to be re-connected before
programming.
3. Disassemble and remove keys from old transmitters, install into provided new
transmitters.

OVERVIEW
This instructional manual will discuss the installation of the hood switch harness & XBM (Remote
Start) turn-on. Other steps will include replacement procedure of the WIN, antenna installation, hood
switch installation, and uploading of vehicle configuration from Dealer Connect. Refer to the vehicle
Service Manual for specific installation procedures for all components except the hood switch har-
ness, which is covered here in detail.

Update Vehicle Configuration
1.Vehicle Vin must be updated with the sales code of the added accessory in order to enable system
functionality. Using the DealerCONNECT website and a StarSCAN diagnostic tool, complete the
following procedure:
a. Log on to https://dealerconnect.chrysler.com

9. Enter user ID, password and dealer code using On-Screen
keyboard and press ----- OK
10. Wait for vehicle configuration data to be downloaded and
press ----- NEXT
11. Press ----- NEXT
12. Confirm that vehicle configuration has been programmed
sucessfully
13. Note On-Screen instructions and press ----- FINISH
b. In the “Vehicle Option” screen under the “Global Claims System” category in the “Service” tab,
enter vehicle VIN and add sales code(s) noted below as a “Dealer Installed Option”.

c. Confirm that the new sales code has been sucessfully added to the VIN.
d. With the StarSCAN diagnostic tool connected to both the internet (via Ethernet port or wire
less connection) and the vehicle, perform the following steps from the Initial Start Up Screen:
1. Press --------- VEHICLE PREPARATION
2. Toggle Down and Highlight --- RESTORE VEHICLE
CONFIGURATION
3. Press -------- START
4. Press ------- NEXT
5. If necessary, select proper vehicle line and model year and
press ----- NEXT

7. Enter vehicle VIN using On-Screen keyboard or confirm that
auto-filled VIN plate and press ----- NEXT

1. Routing of the hood switch harness.
a. Route the hood switch harness underneath the brace
located at the rear of the engine compartment, through
the opening designated for the hood switch, located
near the rear of the passenger fender.
b. Connect the hood switch to the harness and insert into
the opening until properly seated.
Hood Switch and Harness Installation
Installation Procedure:
Disconnect Ground From Battery
1. Remove ground from battery
a. Using a 10 mm socket, remove the negative battery cable.
This vehicle may be equipped with a “Factory Installed” hood switch harness. This har-
ness may not be visible but will be secured to the factory harness located near the rear of
the passenger side fender. If this harness is present, Refer to step “a” in the “Hood
Switch Harness Installation” section below and connect the hood pin switch as described,
then proceed to “Remote Start Antenna Installation” and continue with this instruction
manual. If this vehicle DOES NOT have a factory installed hood switch harness (one is
supplied in the kit), proceed with the complete “Hood Switch Harness Installation” proce-
dure.

c. Route the hood switch harness into the
engine compartment and secure
along the facory harness with (3)
supplied tie wraps.
d. Locate the factory ground lug on
the passenger wheel well. Remove
the 10 mm nut. Install the hood
switch harness ground terminal onto
the factory ground lug and reinstall
the 10 mm nut.
e. Continue to route the remaining Violet/Lt.
Blue wire from the hood switch harness to
the IPM.

2. Access the connectors underneath the IPM
a. Remove the IPM from the IPM mounting
bracket by disengaging the (3) retaining clips.
b. Lift the IPM up to gain access to the “B”
connector.

a. Unplug the “B” connector.
b. Remove the “Secondary Lock” from the
front of the connector.

4. Reinstall the IPM RetainingClips
a. Reinstall the IPM on the
IPM mounting bracket by
engaging the (3) retaining clips.
d. Reinstall the “Secondary Lock” into the front of the
connector.
e. Reinstall the “B” connector back into the IPM.
Violet/Lt.BlueWire
c. Insert the Violet/Lt. Blue wire from the hood switch
harness into the “B” connector, location 10
(G70 Circuit).
Note: Refer to picture for proper terminal
orientation.

3. Using a “Fish Tape” or similar tool, route the antenna wire
down through the opening near the air-conditioner ducts to
the dash area near the WIN module.
Antenna Installation
1. Remove the radio trim bezel.
a. Starting at the bottom near the ash tray, gently pull the trim bezel
away from the dash, releasing the retaining clips.
2. Remove the lower dash panel, located below the steering
wheel.

5. Secure the antenna to the top of the right
hand air-conditioner duct.
WIN Replacement
** Orginal WIN must be removed and the new WIN must be
installed **
1. Refer to the vehicle Service Manual section 8 Electrical/
Starting/Remote StartAntenna Module/Installation - for
WIN replacement.
Antenna
Reconnect Ground to Battery
1. Reconnect ground to battery
a. Using a 10 mm socket, reconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Apply the provided 2-sided tape the top of the
antenna.

Remote Start Disable Override Procedure
1. With the StarSCAN diagnostic tool connected to both the internet
(via Ethernet port or wireless connection) and the vehicle, perform
the following steps from the Initial Start Up Screen:
a. Press ------------------- ECU VIEW
b. Toggle Down and Highlight --- TIPMCGW
c. Press ------------------ MISC FUNCTIONS
d. Toggle Down and Highlight REMOTE START OVERRIDE

AVERTISSEMENT!
Les procédures d’installation sont différentes pour les véhicules avec
SKIM(WCM) et ceux avec WinFobik. Pour les véhicules dotés de
WinFobik, le code de vente doit être ajouté à la base de données et la
restauration de la configuration du véhicule doit être effectuée (avec l’outil
StarSCAN) avant l’installation du module WIN. Si cette procédure n’est pas
respectée, la fonction de démarrage à distance du module WIN n’est pas
opérationnelle.
Le technicien doit attendre 1/2 heure entre l’ajout du code de vente XBM
dans DealerConnect avant d’installer le module WIN et de restaurer la con-
figuration du véhicule. Pendant cette attente, le technicien peut installer
tous les éléments, sauf le module WIN.
Téléchargez les documents suivants du manuel de réparations à partir de la
connexion du concessionnaire avant de procéder à l’installation.

1. Abaissez une ou plusieurs fenêtres du véhicule afin que les clés ne restent pas bloquées à
l’intérieur.
2. Débranchez et isolez le câble négatif de la batterie. La batterie devra être rebranchée avant la
programmation.
3. Démontez et retirez les boutons des anciens émetteurs, installez les nouveaux
émetteurs fournis.

VUE D’ENSEMBLE
Ce manuel d’instructions donne les explications nécessaires sur l’installation du faisceau du
commutateur du capot et du démarrage XBM (démarrage à distance). Les autres étapes
comprennent également la procédure de remplacement du WIN, l’installation de l’antenne,
l’installation du commutateur de capot et l’envoi de la configuration du véhicule à partir de la
connexion du concessionnaire. Consultez le manuel de réparation/entretien pour les procédures
d’installation spécifiques pour tous les composants, à l’exception du faisceau du commutateur
du capot qui est couvert en détail dans ce document.

Mise à jour de la configuration du véhicule
1. Le numéro d’identification du véhicule doit être mis à jour avec le code de vente de l’accessoire
ajouté afin de pouvoir activer la fonctionnalité du système. En utilisant le site Web de
concessionnaire DealerCONNECT et un outil de diagnostic StarSCAN, procédez comme suit :

9. Entrez l’ID de l’utilisateur, le mot de passe et le code du concessionnaire en
utilisant le clavier affiché et appuyez sur ----- OK
10. Patientez jusqu’à la fin du téléchargement des données de configuration et appuyez
sur ----- SUIVANT
11. Appuyez sur ------- SUIVANT
12. Confirmezque la configuration du véhicule aété correctement programmée.
13. Relevez les instructions affichées et appuyez sur ----- FINIR
b. Dans l’écran «Vehicle Option » (Options du véhicule) sous la catégorie « Global
Claims System » (Système de réclamation générale) dans l’onglet « Service », entrez le
numéro d’identification du véhicule et ajoutez le ou les codes(s) relevés sous « Dealer
Installed Option » (Option installée par le concessionnaire).
XBM (DÉMARRAGE À DISTANCE)
c. Confirmez que le nouveau code de vente a bien été ajouté au numéro d’identification
du véhicule.
d. Avec l’outil de diagnostic StarSCAN connecté à l’internet (par le port Ethernet ou
la connexion sans fil) et au véhicule, procédez comme suit à partir de l’écran de
démarrage initial :
1. Appuyez sur ------- PRÉPARATION DU VÉHICULE
2. En appuyant, mettez en surbrillance RESTAURER LA
CONFIGURATION DU VÉHICULE
3. Appuyez sur ------- DÉMARRER
4. Appuyez sur ------- SUIVANT
5. Au besoin, sélectionnez la gamme et l’année du modèle du véhicule et appuyez
sur ----- SUIVANT
6. Confirmez la sélection et appuyez sur ----- SUIVANT
7. Entrez le numéro d’identificationduvéhicule en utilisant le clavier logiciel
ou confirmez le numéro d’identification du véhicule automatique et
appuyez sur ----- SUIVANT

1. Acheminement du faisceau du commutateur
du capot.
a. Acheminez le faisceau du commutateur du capot sous
le renfort situé à l’arrière du compartiment du moteur, par
l’ouverture du commutateur du capot, située à proximité
de l’arrière de l’aile côté passager.
b. Raccordez le commutateur de capot au faisceau et
insérez dans l’ouverture jusqu’à ce qu’il soit bien
en place.
Installation du faisceau et du commutateur du capot
Installation :
Débranchez la terre de la batterie
1. Retirez la terre de la batterie
a. En utilisant un raccord de 10 mm, retirez le câble
négatif de la batterie.
Ce véhicule peut être équipé d’un faisceau de commutateur de capot « installé en usine ».
Ce faisceau peut n’être pas visible mais sera fixé au faisceau d’usine situé à proximité de
l’arrière de l’aile côté passager. Si ce harnais est présent, reportez-vous à l’étape « a »,
section « Installation du faisceau du commutateur du capot » ci-dessous et branchez le
commutateur à broches du capot comme décrit, puis passez à la section « Installation de
l’antenne de démarrage à distance » et continuez la lecture du manuel d’instructions. Si ce
véhicule N’EST PAS équipé d’un faisceau de commutateur de capot « installé en usine »
(un faisceau est fourni dans la trousse), effectuez toutes les étapes de « l’Installation du
faisceau du commutateur du capot ».

c. Acheminez le faisceau du commutateur
du capot dans le compartiment du
moteur et fixez avec le faisceau d’usine
avec (3) attaches fournies.
d. Repérez la patte de mise à la
terre d’usine située sur le passage de
la roue côté passager. Retirez l’écrou
de 10 mm. Installez la borne la borne
de terre du faisceau du commutateur de
capot sur la borne de terre d’usine et
réinstallez l’écrou de 10 mm.
e. Continuez d’acheminer lefilviolet/bleu
clair à partir du faisceau du commutateur
du capot jusqu’au module d’alimentation
intégré.

a. Retirez le module d’alimentation intégré de son
support en désengageant les (3) clips de retenue.
b. Soulevez le module d’alimentation intégré pour
accéder au connecteur « B ».

a. Débranchez le connecteur « B ».
b. Retirez le « verrouillage secondaire » de
l’avant du connecteur.

4. Réinstallez le module d’alimentation intégré Clipsderetenue
a. Réinstallez le module d’alimentation intégré sur
le support de montage en engageant les (3)
clips de retenue.
d. Réinstallez le « verrouillage secondaire » dans l’avant
du connecteur.
e. Réinstallez le connecteur « B » dans le module
d’alimentationintégré.
Filviolet/bleuclair
c. Insérez le fil violet/bleu clair à partir du faisceau du
commutateur du capot dans le connecteur « B »,
emplacement 10 (circuit G70).
Remarque : Voir l’image pour déterminer
l’orientation correcte de la borne.
