Compatibility
mophie powerstation 5X and powerstation 8X
external batteries have been designed to charge
tablets, smartphones and other USB devices, and
are powerful enough to simultaneously charge
two tablets.
• If you experience any issues with charging your
particular device, ensure that the powerstation
battery is fully charged and check the FAQ
section on this website.
As always, no matter what device you have, before
using your powerstation battery you should
carefully read through the Warning section in this
user manual and in the included quick-start guide.
The mophie Power app is available in iOS and
Android versions.

Charging your device using your
powerstation battery
Connect the supplied USB cable (or the cable that
came with your device) to your device and to one
of the USB ports on the powerstation battery.
The powerstation battery will immediately begin
charging your device. You can charge two devices at
the same time.

15W Fast Charge Capability
The powerstation 5X and powerstation 8X batteries
have 15W Fast Charge capability, which provides
high-speed output charging on the USB port marked
with the 15W Fast Charge icon:
Recharging your powerstation battery
Your powerstation battery comes charged and ready
to go. When it does need charging, use the supplied
micro USB cable to connect its micro USB port to
your computer or any power source with a USB out,
like the USB wall adapter included with your device.

The powerstation 5X and powerstation 8X batteries
have 15W Fast Charge input charging capability
when you recharge them using the mophie USB wall
charger with 15W Fast Charge capability.
Priority+ pass-through charging
The powerstation 5X and powerstation 8X batteries
have pass-through charging, which enables
pass-through charge and sync when the
powerstation battery is recharging from a computer.
Your connected device recharges rst, then the
powerstation battery recharges.
Connect your device to the powerstation battery
USB port that is marked with the Priority+
charging icon:
Although the powerstation 5X and powerstation
8X batteries can charge two devices simultaneously,
they can only charge one device while they are being
recharged. Connect the device to the powerstation
battery USB port that is marked with the Priority+
charging icon. (The other USB port is shut o while
the powerstation battery is being recharged.)

Checking your powerstation battery’s
charging status
Press the status button on your powerstation
battery and the status LEDs will indicate its charge
level. Four LEDs means that the powerstation
battery is fully charged, while one LED means that
it’s almost empty. Know before you go!
Bluetooth® Pairing
The powerstation 5X and powerstation 8X batteries
feature Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), and can be
paired with a mobile device that has the free mophie
Power app installed. The mophie Power app lets
you manage the battery life of your powerstation
battery and the paired device.
To pair the powerstation battery with your
mobile device:

1. Install the free mophie Power app on your
mobile device. It is available at the App Store
(iOS devices) and at Google Play (Android devices).
2. Make sure your device’s Bluetooth® is turned on.
3. Press-and-hold the powerstation battery’s
status button for four (4) seconds. The status
LEDswill ashin sequencefromleft-to-rightand
right-to-left, indicating that the powerstation
battery is in the pairing mode.

4. Launch the mophie Power app on your device.
The home screen will appear:
5. Tap the Add Device icon. A list of nearby
Bluetooth® devices will appear. Select
“powerstation 5X” or “powerstation 8X” from
the list and tap“Pair” on the pop-up screen.
6. The Registration page will appear. You can
either register your powerstation battery at
this time or tap“Skip” to register it later.
7. The Conrmation screen will appear—tap
“Done.”The powerstation battery is now paired
with the device and its charging statistics
appear on the Power app home screen along

with those of the device (see Using the mophie
Power app, below).
Using the mophie Power app
DeviceChargingStatistics:Showsthedevicebattery’s
charge level, its status (charging/not charging) and if
charging, the time until it is fully charged.
Tips & Suggestions: Tap on the icon to see tips and
suggestions that help improve battery life and get
the most out of your phone. The app automatically

downloads new tips and suggestions when they
become available.
Settings: Accesses the app settings menu.
Alert Settings: Lets you create customized device
battery percentage notications or to be notied
when your device has nished charging.
powerstation battery Information: Swipe up or tap
on the screen to reveal all of the powerstation
battery Charging Statistics and settings.

charging statistics the App displays depend on
whether the powerstation battery is not charging
(Connected), is charging the device (Charging Out),
is being recharged (Charging In) or is charging
the device at the same time it is being
recharged (Priority+):

• Firmware Update: Lets you update the
powerstation battery to the latest
rmware version.
• Help: Displays this user manual on your device.
• Bluetooth: Lets you place the powerstation
battery in AirPlane Mode, turning o Bluetooth®.
The powerstation’s battery percentage at the
time it was un-paired from the device as well
as the time the powerstation battery was
un-paired are displayed.
• Remove Device: Cancels the Bluetooth® pairing
between the powerstation battery and your
device and removes powerstation information
from the app screen.
Taking care of your powerstation external battery
• Keep your powerstation battery dry and away
from moisture and corrosive materials.
• Do not clean your powerstation battery with
harsh chemicals, soaps or detergents. Just wipe
the case with a soft, water-dampened cloth.
• Recharge your powerstation battery once
every three months when not in use. If you plan
on putting it away, charge it for one hour rst.
Warranty
At mophie, we are dedicated to making the best
quality products we can.To back this up, this product
is warranted for 1 full year from date of purchase.This

warranty does not aect any statutory rights that
you may be entitled to. Keep a copy of your purchase
receipt as proof of purchase. Be sure to register your
product at mophie.com. Failure to register your
product and/or provide proof of purchase may void
the warranty.
