Controls
The Morse Mobile-Karrier
/ Palletizer is manually
propelled and steered. The
drum lift function is powered
by a single phase 115V AC
motor with a momentary
switch.cord and plug.
There are two functions for the operator to control:
“LIFT” and lower function for vertical positioning of the drum1.
“TILT” function to control the degree of rotation of the drum2.
LIFT and Lower Function (Figure 2.3)
To raise the drum
Plug the motor into a standard 115V power supply.•
Turn the motor on by holding the momentary switch in the on position.•
The drum will lift.
Release the momentary switch when the drum is at the desired height.•
Tolowerthedrum:Withthemotoro󰀨,pushintheLOWERhandle.
TILT Function to tilt the drum
Either one of the two spring loaded plunger tilt-locks may be locked to1.
hold the drum upright. It is not necessary to lock both of them.
Position drum at pouring station.2.
Beforeunlockingthetilt-lock(s)topermittiltingthedrum,it3.
is recommended that you steady the drum and be prepared for its
possible tendency to tilt toward its heavier side.
With both tilt-locks unlocked, manually tilt the drum for pouring. The4.
drum pouring angle may be varied or it can be locked in horizontal
position by one of the tilt-locks.
WARNING: Keep hands and ngers clear of tilt lock hole, as a pinch point
will occur when drum rotates.

WARNING: Keep hands and other objects away from top opening of lifting frame.
To secure drum: drape cinch chain across face of drum and engage a link2.
into notch in hub of ratchet. Pull up on ratchet handle to tighten chain. If
ratchet turns to extent that pawl is beyond last ratchet tooth and chain is not
tight, back up and try putting next link in notch. Chain should tighten as ratchet
turns and be held tight by teeth of ratchet & pawl. Firm hand pressure on
ratchet handle should tension chain su󰀩ciently to secure drum. DO NOT use
mechanical aids such as a pipe to extend ratchet handle for extra leverage.

unreasonably rough or non-level surfaces. Move at moderate speed. Carry drum only

Either one of the two spring loaded plunger tilt locks may4.
be locked to hold drum upright. Unlocking both will permit
drum to be tilted. Drum pouring angle may be varied or
drum can be locked in horizontal position by inserting one
tilt lock. It is not necessary to lock both tilt locks. Before
unlocking tilt lock it is recommended that you steady drum
and prepare to resist its tendency to tilt toward its heavy end.
WARNING: Keep hands and ngers clear of tilt lock hole,
as a pinch point will occur when drum rotates.
Before unloading drum, release tilt locks and return drum5.
to upright. Lower drum at a controlled rate.
To remove drum: pull ratchet handle clockwise to relieve6.
pressure on ratchet teeth. Lift pawl handle to release teeth
engagement and rotate ratchet counterclockwise to loosen
chain and allow its removal from notch. Pull unit away
and park on level oor, out of tra󰀩c lanes when not in use.
Adjustment for Shorter Drums: The drum holder assembly is factory set in upper position for handling typical 55 gallon drums. For7.
handling shorter drums such as typical 30 gallon drums, relocate drum holder assembly downward as follows: Detach by removing nuts
that hold it to lifting assembly. Reattach at alternate location 6” lower.
