connectthephonelinebetweenthemodemandatelephonewalljack.
3. WindowswilldetectthatthenewmodemispresentandstarttheNewHardwarewizard.Selectthe
‘Locateandinstalldriversoftware(recommended)’option.
Note:Throughouttheinstallation,youmaybepromptedbytheVista‘UserAccountControl’(hereafter
referredtoastheUAC).Whenprompted,pleaseclicktheContinuebuttontoproceedwiththe
installation.
4. TheNewHardwarewizardwillnowaskifyouwanttosearchonlinefordrivers,select‘Don’tsearch
online.’
5. Windowswillnowdirectyoutoinsertthediscthatcamewithyourdevice–ifyouhavenotalreadydone

modem,youmustconfigureittomatchthedefaultsofthecountryinwhichyouareusingit.Youcanuseoneof
twoconfigurationmethods:
•UsingtheGlobalWizardtoConfigureYourModem
•UsingATCommandstoConfigureYourModem
UsingtheGlobalWizardtoConfigureYourModem
TheGlobalWizardconfigurationutilityisrecommendedforcomputersrunningWindowsServer2008,Vista,XP,
and2003.TheGlobalWizardcanconfigureyourmodemforaspecificcountrywithjustafewmouseclicks.
1. InserttheProductCDintotheCD‐ROMdrive.TheAutorundialogboxappears.
2. ClickInitialSetupandCountrySelection.
3. Chooseeither:
●RunGlobalWizardfromCD.Thiswillnotloadthewizardontoyourharddrive,or
●InstallGlobalWizardontheHD.Thiswillinstallthewizardontoyourharddriveforfutureuse.
