Warnings and Cautions
Keep the Trex HD system dry and away from liquids.
Do not use accessories or parts that are not described in these
instructions as it could be unsafe.
Do not modify this equipment!
Strangulation can occur when long cables or tubing is used. Do not
allow items to become wrapped around the neck.
Potential allergic reactions could occur. Consult clinician on any
allergies before use.
Warning: Possibility of inhalation or swallowing of small
parts. Please use with caution.
Do not allow children or pets to play with this equipment.
Do not use the Trex HD system when outside its patient pouch as it
could be unsafe.
Ensure a proper, comfortable fit for all sensors and electrodes. A
poor fit may cause injury or poor recording.
When using the Sony camcorder, plug into an outlet where it is not
difficult to unplug if needed.
Always inspect the equipment, particularly the cables and
connectors, for evidence of wear before each recording. If evidence
of wear is found, remove the worn equipment from use, and contact
the healthcare professional performing your test at

For assistance in setting up the equipment, troubleshooting, or to
report unexpected operations, contact the healthcare professional
performing your test.

Trex HD Setup
The Trex HD until will be pre-configured by the Healthcare professional prior to
the unit being sent home. You may have devices attached which are different
than shown, as it depends on the type of test being performed.
Please follow the additional instructions for recording movement and activities in
the Patient Instructions and Diary (p/n 105902) provided by your Healthcare
professional with this unit.
Please consult your provider with any questions.
Trex HD device LED color functionality:
Flashing amber indicates the Trex is
storing data in its flash memory.
Flashing green indicates the battery is
running low.
Setting up the Video
Camera
If you have been provided with a video camera,
you can set this up following the video camera
setup guide provided with the system (p/n
009320 - Patient Guide for Trex™ HD Video
Ambulatory Study).

Attaching the Trex HD pouch to a belt or a
lanyard
Your healthcare provider will demonstrate how to secure the Trex HD pouch on
your body using a belt or lanyard.
Before attaching the belt or lanyard, the Trex HD device must be placed in the
pouch with the zippers closed as much as possible.
NOTE: The pouch and belt or lanyard system must be worn over top
of your clothes.
NOTE: Do NOT place the belt/lanyard around the patient’s neck.
Belt Setup
To use the belt:
1. Attach the pouch to the belt by threading it through the back of the
pouch.
2. Fit the belt snugly around your mid-section. Ensure the belt is neither
too tight nor too loose and that you are comfortable.

Lanyard Setup
To use the lanyard setup:
1. Attach the lanyard to the two
(2) rings on the back of the
pouch.
2. Place the lanyard around the
patient’s neck or shoulder, or
hang it on the bedside post.
Connecting the SpO2Sensor
Depending on the type of study, your healthcare provider may connect an
SpO2sensor to the Trex HD unit.
Attach either the Reusable or Single Use SpO2sensor to a clean, dry finger.

It is recommended to put the oximeter cable through the patient’s sleeve to
minimize movement of the cable.

Connecting the Trex HD to the External
Power Pack
An optional power pack can be connected to the Trex HD using a round, 5-pin
connection to a standard mini-USB connector cable.
The round, 5-pin connector is plugged directly into the external battery pack, and
the mini-USB connector cable is plugged into the Trex HD.
Once connected, ensure that both the Trex HD and the power pack are returned
to the Trex HD pouch with the zippers closed as much as possible. They can
then be worn on either a Belt or a Lanyard as described above.
External Power Pack Warnings and Cautions
Do not open or allow water to enter battery case.
Sealed unit-do not disassemble. No field serviceable parts inside
case. Do not attempt to open the case or expose to moisture. Doing
so may result in serious bodily injury or death due to electrical shock.
Do not install the Trex HD system or use an electrical outlet within 10
feet of a swimming pool.

NOTE: Dispose of used, non-rechargeable batteries in accordance with local
regulations.
NOTES: It is strongly recommend that you use major brand name AA alkaline
batteries such as Duracell® Coppertop®, Duracell Procell® or equivalent. Do
not use rechargeable batteries.
