To use vSphere 5 Update 1, please confirm the ft control software version. If the version is 4.0.0,
contact your sales representative to get the latest version. Version 4.0.1 or later is required for vSpher
5 Update 1.
vSphere 5 Update 2 is not supported on NEC Express5800/ft series at the moment. Please do not
install vSphere 5 Update 2.
There is a limitation on vRAM capacity on VMware vSphere 5 licensing. Refer to the VMware web site
for the VMware vSphere Licensing.

Notes for using VMware vSphere 5 on Express5800/R320a-E4
Supported Guest OS
Guest Operating Systems supported on NEC Express5800/ft series are the same as other general purpose
servers. Refer to the VMware web site for the Supported Guest Operating Systems on VMware vSphere
ESXi 5 and ESXi 5 U1.
VMware vSphere Client
For maintenance of VMware ESX on the NEC Express5800/ft series, a dedicated terminal (e.g. a Windows
PC) is required
Backup
A dedicated server for data backup is recommended.
