Setup
The Aura Reason integration is compatible with Reason 6 or higher.
Here are the steps you need to go through to get Reason up and running with Aura:
• Make sure Reason is already installed on your computer. If not, please install and run it at least once and quit Reason again.
• Run the Aura_Reason_Support installer, included in the package along with this PDF guide.
• Connect Aura to your computer via USB and make sure it‘s switched on.
• Launch Reason and go to Edit/Preferences/Control Surfaces,.
• Click “Auto-detect surfaces”. The Aura Control Surface appears in the Control Surfaces list once it’s detected by Reason.
That’s it, setup is now complete and Aura should be communicating with Reason.

Activating Nektarine for Aura Control
Once a Software Instrument Track hosting Nektarine is selected, press [DAW] to toggle between DAW mode and controlling Nektarine.
Aura automatically detects the Nektarine instance hosted on the current track. Because of this, running even several hundred instances of
Nektarine in any one project is a seamless control experience.
You can change track either from Aura or directly in Reason, though Aura behaves a little different depending on the method:
• Selecting track from Aura always leaves Aura in DAW mode.
• Selecting a track hosting Nektarine directly in Reason using the mouse, activates that instance.
• Selecting any track that does not host Nektarine directly in Reason, while Nektarine is active, will automatically switch back to
DAW mode.
• Selecting another Nektarine track following will automatically activate that instance.
Kong, ReDrum and Rytmik
Aura’s pads are remapped for Reason’s three drum devices Kong, ReDrum and Rutymik. This means that every time a track hosting one of
these 3 devices is selected, the pads will trigger device sounds as you would expect.
Here are the main additional features:
[Arrow buttons Up/Down]: Shift the Kong pads up/down and assign the pads accordingly. This feature is only available for Kong.
Solo: Press and hold [Solo] while pressing one or more pads. Only pads that are solo’ed are illuminated upon release.
Mute: Press and hold [Mute] while pressing one or more pads. Pads that are Mute’ed are not illuminated upon
release..
