NetComm N3G002W Quick start guide

N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W Firmware Upgrade Instructions
Purpose: This document describes the steps necessary to perform a firmware
upgrade on the N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W with the latest
firmware available on the NetComm website).
To ensure a successful firmware upgrade please follow the below
instructions.
Firmware files location:
To download the latest firmware of N3G002W / N3G005W /

Click on to the firmware file .exe or .BIN) and save it on your local PC.
Warning:
Please ensure that your 3G USB Modem is not attached to N3G 2W / N3G 5W/
N3G 7W during the upgrade process as this may damage the N3G 2W/ N3G 5W/
N3G 7W and void your warranty.
For Upgrading with the .executable file
Upgrade Steps:
1) For user using the exe file to upgrade the firmware:
2) Power on the N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W with the supplied power adapter.
3) Wait approximately 2 minutes for the device to finish starting up.
4) Plug in one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the N3G002W / N3G005W /
N3G007W.
5) Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of your computer.
6) Please wait approximately 20 seconds.

7) Double click the Firmware_version.exe
8) Type in the IP address of 192.168.123.254 and the Password “admin” on the
password field.
9) Click Upgrade to proceed. It will take a few minutes to proceed upgrading till the
status bar reaches 100%.
10) Please note that it takes approximately 3 minutes for the N3G002W / N3G005W /
N3G007W to upgrade. DO NOT turn off your N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W
during the firmware upgrade process
11) N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W will reboot itself after upgrade.

For Upgrading with the .BIN file
Upgrade Steps:
1. Power on the N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W with the supplied power adapter.
2. Wait approximately 2 minutes for the device to finish starting up.
3. Plug in one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the N3G002W / N3G005W /
N3G007W.
4. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of your computer.
5. Please wait approximately 20 seconds.
6. Open your web browser.
7. Type in http://192.168.123.254 on the address bar.
8. From the Login page, type in:
Username: admin
Password: admin
Press “Login” to log in.
9. Click Advanced Setup, then click TOOLBOX on the top menu, select Firmware
Upgrade in the left-hand side menu;

10. Press the Browse button to select a firmware file to upgrade with and press Upgrade
button.
11. Please note that it takes approximately 3 minutes for the N3G002W / N3G005W /
N3G007W to upgrade. DO NOT turn off your N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W
during the firmware upgrade process.
12. N3G002W / N3G005W / N3G007W will reboot itself after upgrade, then it should
come up as following:
