INSTRUCTION
NOTE:Takeduecareandattentionduringallmaintenanceandrepairs.Werecommendyouworkwithaservicecenter
authorizedbyNEWHOLLAND.Eachsectioncontainswarningsforcarefulmaintenance.Donotmakeadjustments
withoutthenecessaryspecialtools.Anyonewhocarriesoutproceduresoutsideofaservicecenterisresponsiblefor
thoseprocedures.
SHIMS
Whenadjustingwithshims,collectthevaluesfoundbymeasuringeachshimseparatelywithamicrometer.Donot
simplyconsiderthenominalthicknessvaluesgivenontheshimsortheoverallthicknessoftheshim.
ROTATINGSHAFTSEALS
Tocorrectlypositiontherotatingshaftseals,carryoutthefollowingsteps:
1.Beforeyoupositionthesealinitsrecess,soakthesealinoilforatleasthalfanhourtoensurethesealsitsinits
locationproperly.
2.Carefullycleantheshaftsandensurethatthesealandcontactsurfacearenotworn.
3.Turnthesealsothatitsedgemovestowingardtheoil.Ifthesealisanoil-recyclingseal,turnthesealsothatthe
groovedlipgoesintotheoil.Thus,oilisexpelledwhiletheshaftrotates.
4.Coattheseallipswithalightoil(chooseengineoilratherthangrease).Fillthegapbetweentheseallipandthe
dustpreventionlipwithgrease.(alsoapplicabletodouble-lipseal)
5.Positionthesealwithaat-tippedtool.Donotuseahammer.
6.Whenyoupositionthesealinitsrecess,ensurethesealisnotpositionedatanangle.Makesurethatthesealts
snuglyintoitsrecessbyapplyingaconstantpressureperpendiculartothesealsurface.
7.Whenyouslidethesealalongtheshaft,useaprotectivesleevetoprotecttheseallips.
O-RINGS
OileachO-ringbeforeyoupositiontheO-ring.WhenyouinstalltheO-ring,slidetheO-ringatalongthepart,butdo
nottwist.Otherwise,aleakwilloccur.
LIQUIDSEALS
Applyoneofthefollowingsealantstothejoinsurfacesmarkedwithan‘X’:RTVSILMATE,RHODORSILCAF1,or
LOCTITEPLASTICGASKET
Dothefollowingtothejointsurfacesbeforeyouapplythesealant:
1.Cleanawaydebristhoroughlywithawirebrush.
2.Thoroughlycleananddegreasethesurfaceswithamixtureofhotwaterandsodaorsolventgasoil.
BEARINGS
Whenyoupositionthebearings:
1.Heatthebearingsto80–90°Cbeforeyoupositionthebearingsontheshaft.
2.Coolthebearingsbeforeyouhammerthebearingsintotheirhousings.
PINS
Whenyoupositionbeveledspringpins,makesurethatthecutendofthepinisinstalledperpendicularlytothedirection
ofwork.Spiralspringpinscanbeplacedinanyposition.

Start-up-Overview
OPERATION
1.Donotoperatetheengineinanenclosedenvironmentwithinsufcientventilationforexhaustgasemissions.
2.Donotinsertyourhead,yourbody,feet,ngers,orarmsbetweentherotatingpartsofthefanorthebelt.
ENGINE
1.Beforeyouremovetheradiatorcap,turnthecapslowlytoreducethepressure.Addwatertotheenginewhenthe
engineisatastandstill,orinidlewhentheengineiswarm.
2.Makesurethattheengineisstoppedwhenyourefuel.Becarefulwhentheengineishot,asthefuelmayignite.
3.Nevercheckoradjustthefanbeltswhentheengineisrunning.Donotadjustthefuelpumpwhiletheengineis
running.
4.Neverlubricatewhiletheengineisrunning.
ELECTRICALSYSTEM
1.Whenyouusetheauxiliarybattery,makesurethatthecableendconnectionstotheterminalsare(+)to(+)and
(-)to(-).Donotshorttheends.BATTERYVAPORIGNITESVERYQUICKLY .Whilethebatteryischarging,open
thebatteryplugstoensureadequateventilation.Donotplacemetalitemsbetweentheterminalstocheckthe
batterycharge.Protectthebatteryfromlightandsparks.Donotsmokenearthebattery.
2.Checkforfuelandbatteryelectrolyteleaksbeforeyoucarryoutservicingormaintenance.Repairanyleaksbefore
youstartwork.
3.Donotchargethebatteryinanenclosedarea.Afterthebatteryischarged,ensurecropperventilationsothat
explosivegassesproducedduringbatterychargingcanescape.
4.Disconnectthebatterybeforeanyrepairwork,orbeforeyoustartworkontheelectricalsystem.
HYDRAULICSYSTEM
1.Pressurizedliquidleakingfromaverysmallholemaynotbevisibleandcandamageyourskin.Assuch,DONOT
CHECKFORLEAKSWITHYOURHANDS.Useapieceofwoodorcardboardtocheckforleaks.Seekmedical
attentionifyouareinjuredbyleakingliquid.Ifyoudonotreceiveimmediatemedicalattention,aseriousinfection
orreactionmaydevelop.
2.Whenyoucheckthepressure,useanindicatorappropriatefortheexpectedpressure.
WHEELSANDTIRES
1.Ensurethattiresareinatedtothepressurevaluesindicatedbytheirmanufacturer.Checktiresperiodicallyfor
wear.
2.Takecarewhenyouadjusttirepressureandpositionyourselfsafely.
3.Checktirepressurewiththetractorempty.T oavoidover-ination,onlychecktireswhentheyarecold.Donotuse
worntires.Improperweldingheatingorsolderingreducestheresistanceofthewheelsandcausesthewheelsto
malfunction.
4.Neverweldinatedtirestotherims.
5.Usechocksonthefrontandrearwheelswhenyoucarryouttiremaintenance.Afteryouraisethetractorona
jack,positionasupportstandunderneaththetractortopreventthetractorfromfalling.
6.Deatethetiresbeforeyouremoveitemsthatmaycausetirestoburstfromthetiretread.
7.Neverinatetireswithammablegas.Thiscancauseexplosionsandinjury.
EQUIPMENT
1.Uselifterswithappropriatecapacitiestoliftheavyparts.Makesurethatpartsareproperlysupported(withrings
hooks,rings,etc.).Useajackifnecessary.Beawareofpeoplearoundyou.
