How to read 1D/2D barcode with PT980 series products
If the COMS sensor has been equipped on the portable data collector shipped, it
can be used to read 1D and 2D bar code. If the portable data collector equipped
laser sensor, it only can be used to read 1D bar code.

Focus the green aiming bar on the central of a barcode. The distance of scan
window & barcode between 15cm and 25cm. Yaw (αas below) between 0°and
45°（0 is the best）; Pitch(γas below) between 0°and 45°（5-20 is the
best）; Roll (βas below)360°.

When pressed “SCAN”button on the PT980
series products, the digital scanner projects a
red laser or an aiming pattern. For the optimum
reading stance, laser or aiming pattern width
should be 4mm more than barcode width.

Supports & Service
If you have a problem with your equipment, contact the Newland Support Center
for your region. Before calling, have the model number, serial number, and several
of your barcodes at hand.
Call the support Center from a phone near the scanning equipment so that the
service person can try to talk you through your problem. If the equipment is found
to be working properly and the problem is barcode readability, the Support Center
will request samples of your bar codes for analysis at our plant.
If your problem cannot be solved over the phone, you may need to return your
equipment for servicing. If that is necessary, you will be given specific directions.
