Pipe installation
The pipe installation must be carried out in accordance
with applicable standards.
NOTE!
The hot water heater must be filled with water before
the charging via the coil is started.
Internal support bushes should be fitted when a plastic
pipe or annealed copper pipe is used.
An overflow pipe should be routed from the safety valve
to an appropriate drain. The size of the overflow pipe
must be the same as on the safety valve (according to
applicable standards). The overflow pipe must be routed
downwards to prevent water pockets and to be frost
proof. The outlet of the overflow pipe should be visible.
When the hot water heater is installed without a mixing
valve, the charging control must ensure that the tap wa-
ter temperature does not exceed 60°C. Should a higher
temperature be required, follow applicable directions for
the application.
Coil
When determining the water speed one should not
exceed 1.5 m/s in event of continuous charge flow. This
corresponds to a water flow of approx 1650 l/h for Ø22
mm coil (PUB2 160/210/300/500) and approx 1050 l/h
for double separation coil (PUB2 DS 160/300/500).
The flow temperature to the coil must not exceed
120 °C. The operating temperature of the hot water
heater must not exceed 95 °C.
Risk of air bubbles in the coil is eliminated because the
intake connection is the highest point.

Dismounting of insulation (only
applies to PUB2 500 & PUB2 DS 500)
The hot water heater can be made less bulky upon
installation by removing the insulation (water heater
diameter without insulation is Ø 670).
■Loosen all the screws along the joining plate on
both jacket halves.
■Remove the drain valve.
■Lift off the top cover.
■Pull the insulated jacket halves straight out.
Carry out assembly in reverse order.
If the screws are difficult to fit in the old holes, the plate
can be turned upside down, which gives new, unused
holes in the insulated jacket halves.
Finally fit all the enclosed cover discs on each connec-
tion by pressing them over the connections.
Once the hot water heater is in the required position
remove the lifting device from the top and fit the ac-
companying insulation plug in the hole left by the lifting
eye (10).
Assembly
The copper-lined hot water heater must be installed up-
right and can be aligned using the adjustable feet (11).
NOTE!
Fit the cover discs before the
pipe installation is made.

Maintenance
The safety valve must be checked regularly. Inspection
is made by turning the safety valve knob anti-clockwise,
upon which water should flow through the overflow
pipe. If this does not happen then the safety valve is de-
fective and must be changed.
The safety valve sometimes releases a little water after
hot water has been tapped. This discharge is caused
by the expansion of the cold water taken into the wa-
ter heater, resulting in a pressure increase, whereby the
safety valve opens.
Service
Contact the main contractor when a service is necessary.
You must then state the serial number (95) 14 digits.

Emptying
■Shutoff the charge flow to the coil.
■Shutoff the incoming cold water.
■Loosen the cover of the drain valve (8) and mount a
suitible hose.
During draining air must be let into the hot water heat-
er by loosening a hot water heater connection (42) or
a hot water tap. In order to ensure the water heater is
completely empty the hose connection must be com-
pletely tight and the outlet must be below the lowest
point of the heater.
When mounted in locations exposed to the risk of frost,
the hot water heater must be emptied whenever not in
operation. Freezing will result in the hot water heater
bursting.

Waterzijdig aansluiten
De boiler dient te worden aangesloten volgens de lokale
voorschriften op het drinkwaternet.
Hierbij dient in de koudwater toevoerleiding minimaal
een stopkraan (A), een terugslagklep (B), een over-
drukventiel (47) en een onderdrukventiel (C) toegepast
te worden. NB, de meeste inlaatcombinaties voldoen
helaas niet aan de eisen voor onderdrukbeveiliging.
LET OP: Omdat in sommige installaties de kans op
onderdruk redelijk groot is, verdient het aanbeveling om
bij twijfel een separaat onderdruk ventiel toe te passen.
Indien klemkoppelingen toegepast worden, dan dienen
waar mogelijk in de aansluitingen steunhulzen toege-
past te worden om lekkage te voorkomen.
Spiraal/spiralen
Om erosie in de spiraal te voorkomen is het belangrijk
dat door de enkele scheiding spiraal niet meer dan
1650 l/h langdurig circuleert. Voor de dubbele scheiding
spiralen is dat ca. 1050 l/h. Indien de ketel een hoger
debiet nodig heeft dan de gekozen spiraal aan kan dan
is misschien de toepassing van de PUB2 - 300/DS2 of de
PUB2 - 500/DS2 wellicht een alternatief omdat bij deze
types de spiralen parallel geschakeld kunnen worden.
Indien dit niet kan, of niet voldoende helpt dan kunt
u het beste samen met de ketelleverancier en NIBE
Energietechniek BV naar een goede oplossing zoeken.
Indien de aanvoertemperatuur boven de 100 °C kan
komen dient u een geschikte (extra) veiligheidsafsluiter
toe te passen.
NB, het verdient aanbeveling om eerst de boiler te vul-
len voordat de spiraal wordt verwarmd.

Demontage van de isolatie van de
500 liter versies
De isolatie van de PUB2 - 500 kan verwijderd worden,
dit kan wel eens handig zijn bij intern transport ed.
(diameter wordt dan 670 mm).
Dit gaat als volgt:
■Verwijder alle schroefjes op de isolatiemantel
helften.
■Verwijder de aftap afsluiter.
■Verwijder de bovenkap.
■Verwijder beide isolatiedelen voorzichtig naar
achteren.
Het monteren gaat in omgekeerde volgorde, waarbij
het kan voorkomen dat de schroeven niet goed meer
pakken in oude gaatjes van het isolatie materiaal. Dit
is te verhelpen door de strippen om te keren, zodat de
schroefjes weer in nieuw isolatie materiaal geschroefd
kunnen worden.
Daarna eerst de afdekmanchetten van de aanslu-
itingen weer op hun plaats schuiven, voordat de
boiler waterzijdig aangesloten wordt.
Tevens niet vergeten om het hijsoog te verwijder-
en en het ontstane gat op te vullen met de meege-
leverde isolatie plug!
Opstelling
De PUB boilers dienen vertikaal opgesteld te worden en
middels de stelvoetjes (11) kan dit worden afgesteld.
Let op!
Schuif eerst de afdek manchetten over de
aansluitingen, voordat de boiler wordt
aangesloten.

Onderhoud
De boiler is onderhoudsvrij, toch verdient het
aanbeveling om het overdrukventiel regelmatig op zijn
goede werking te controleren. Daar het water tijdens
het opwarmen een paar procent uitzet zou de boiler uit
elkaar barsten indien dit water niet afgevoerd wordt.
Het is dan ook belangrijk dat een paar keer per jaar
visueel gecontroleerd wordt of er tijdens dit aanwarmen
echt water uit het overdrukventiel stroomt. Tevens
wordt aanbevolen om 1 keer per jaar het ventiel met
de hand open kort te draaien, waardoor het goed
doorspoeld wordt
Service
Neem contact op met uw installateur als service nodig
is. Het is daarbij verstandig om het type van de boiler op
te geven.

Boiler aftappen
■Sluit de water – en warmtetoevoer af.
■Haal het afdekkapje van de aftapkraan (8) af en
sluit meet koppeling een slang aan. Zorg dat deze
slang goed afdicht, en leg het andere uiteinde van
de slang in een afvoerput of iets dergelijks dat lager
is dan de onderkant van de boiler.
■Tap de boiler af door de aftapkraan open te
draaien.
■Zorg tijdens het aftappen voor voldoende lucht-
toevoer, door bijvoorbeeld een warmwaterkraan
geheel te openen, of door de warmwaterleiding los
te koppelen.
Dit aftappen kan nodig zijn om bevriezing te
voorkomen, als de boiler geplaatst is in een vorstgevoe-
lige plaats en de boiler niet gebruikt wordt in de winter.
