2'INTRODUCTIOM ..
-Tnis VS,-Pak contains the parts tochang&any VS:UniSystem, VS.DualSystem or VSJable game.
Please be sure to save your FPU ROM kit and any literature from the VS. game that you are converting
so you can change back to that game in the future if you so desire. By doing this, you will be able to
continue to build your library of games for your VS. systems.

A. Prepare aplexiglass headei' tor the new rmmepfate overlay by either removing the old header
and overlay from the cabinet or cutting anew piece of plexiglass.
NOTE: If yoLT are cutting plexiglass for anew header, the maximum size of
the nameplate overlay is 5-3/4" tall by 24 -1/4' long
.
To remove the old header, remove the four (4) top trim screws and tap trim. (For the Dual cabinet
it is necessary to also remove one (!) additional screw and slightly pull away the plastic center
piece.) Then slide the old header up and out of the game.
(See Fig. 1and 2)
B. Cut the nameplate overkylo fit the header you are using, being careful not to remove any part of
the Instmctions or game name.
C. Adhere the authonzaiion label io the new namepfa^e overiay^n alocation that will not cover any
part of the instructions or game name.
D. Using SC0TCHbmn6 (clear) tape (not provided}, tape the new nameplate overlay^ the back of
the header.
E. Replace the new header and top trim. Replace and tighten the top trim screws. {On the Dual
cabinet, make sure that the header fits back under the plastic center piece before replacing the
screws,)

RRemove the back door and staple the DIP switch /Factory recommended sr-^i.^gs sheet next to
t^e cJd label.

A. Unlock and open the table lid. Remove the tour (4)
9/32" nuts holding the plexigtass instruction label
cover
B. Remove the plexiglass cover and carefully remove
'the old instruclion label and save for tuture use.
C. Remove the paper backing strip on the new
instfuction iade/and install.
D. Replace plexiglass cover and four (4) nuts.
NOTE: Do not over tighten the nuts or you may
damage the plexiglass.
(See Fig, 4)
E. Adhere the authorization iabei to the side of the
table just under the FCC label. Do not cover up
any old labels.

F. Tape the DiP switct) IFactory recommended
settings sheet onto any unused surface inside the
table ho us ir;g. (Remove and save the old label if
necessary.

A. For two monitor systems^ if VS. Dr. Mario is to be installed in trie main (LE.FT) ^^dt or fte
cabinet, then remove the existing FPU a/id CPU chips (2A03). in locitioa'; 2F anc? 2Jon the
CPU PCB, and remove EPROMS in locations 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, ZA, and 2B.
For installation in the sub (RIGHT! side, use iocations 8F and SJ, and EPROMS in locations 6A;
6B,6C,6D,8A,andeB,
B. Insert Ihe VS. DrMarlo Expansion PCS into the two (2) bare 40'Pin DIP IC sxkets on the CPU
PCS. Locations 2F and 2J for the main (LEFT) side or 8F and ej for the sub (RIGHT) skda.
CAUTION: Be sure to ihsert the Expansion PCB with the chips loaded in the same
direction as the other IC's on the CPU PCB. Inserting the Expansion PCB
backwards may cause damage to both the CPU PCB and the Expansion PCB.
Insert the VS> Dr.Mario Expansion PCS firmly into the iC sockets to prevent failure and carefutiy
check all 40- Pins for proper connections.
Insert CPU chip 2A03 into the 40-Pin DiP IC
socket, iocation IJ2 on the Expansion PCB, with
the chips loaded in the same direction as the
other IC's on the Expansion PCB,
For one monitor systems, VS. DrMario must
use locations BF and 8J, sub side of the CPU
PCB.
