The display on the ‘Live Data’ screen is divided into 3 columns:
•
Sym
: Symbol
•
Bid/ Off|Price
: Bid/Offer or Price of latest trade.
•
Ch g
: Net change for the day from pervious trading day’s closing price.
This data changes as price updates are received. Changing data flashes to indicate the direction of the
movement.
Data in the price column may be displayed differently depending on the type of the instrument. For indices
and similar instruments a single price value is displayed. For instruments with a bid/offer spread, such as forex
and equities, a shorthand notation is used to indicate the spread.
The bid price is displayed in full, followed by a forward slash, and then the offer price from the point at which it
differs from the bid. For example, a spread of 124.5 to 124.8 would be displayed as ‘124.5/8’, a spread of
1.5860 to 1.5881 would be displayed ‘1.5860/81’, and a spread of 245.3 to 252.7 would be displayed
‘245.3/52.7’.
This shorthand notation allows more information to be conveyed in a relatively small area of the screen.
Initially the top symbol in the display will be highlighted. If you have more instruments than will fit on a single
page, use the scroll key to move to the bottom of the screen to scroll downwards.
