TURNING ON THE DEVICE
GROUND BALANCE
To turn on the devce, rotate the On/O knob to ON. Turn the same knob to OFF poston
when you want to turn o the devce. When the devce s turned on, a melody wll be heard
and approxmately 10 seconds later you wll hear a long beep ndcatng that the devce s
ready to use.
The devce wll provde more depth at on poston. However, to better dscrmnate ferrous
metals, usng the devce n mneral modes and the ron dscrmnaton at maxmum poston
s recommended.
Especally n mneralzed ground target sgnal s negatvely aected by the ''nose'' caused by
ground mneralzaton. Ths stuaton may prevent the detector from gettng a clean sgnal
from the target necessary for metal detecton and accurate dscrmnaton. Ground balancng
s a process through whch the metal detector s able to cancel out the negatve eects
caused by ground mneralzaton.
To ground balance, holdng the search col 5cm. above the ground, sweep t rght and left,
keepng t parallel to the ground and slowly turn the ground balance knob clockwse untl the
nose s gone and the devce s slent. If you cannot ground balance the detector, gradually
decrease the senstvty and repeat the above steps.

SENSITIVITY
For maxmum depth, do not turn the ground balance knob to the rght more than necessary.
Generally speakng, the md-level (between 4-7) oers the most deal and stable detecton
capablty on derent types of ground wthout sacrfcng depth.
As the ground balance goes nto the rght area, the devce wll start losng depth for some
non-ferrous metals except for gold. When the ground balance settng reaches the maxmum
pont the devce wll detect ron and gold but t wll not detect some non-ferrous metals.
If you are searchng on a ground loaded wth mneralzed stones or dps and holes, t s recommended to ground balance over
one of these stones or the holes.
In areas of very hgh mneralzaton, ground balance may not be sucent. In such a case, you may need to use the mneral
search modes (see page 16).
Senstvty settng s used to elmnate nterferences caused by electromagnetc waves n the
surroundng envronment or ground nose. Electromagnetc waves may result from power
lnes n the surroundng envronment or from the operaton of electrcal devces, radars,
wreless rados, and even TVs.
Senstvty s also the depth settng for the devce. Therefore, especally n hgh
mneralzaton, t s recommended that you lower t only f the devce s stll gettng nose
after you adjust all the other settngs (ground balance, ron dscrmnaton and mneral
modes).

IRON DISCRIMINATION
IRON SWITCH
In general, when searchng n wet salt water beach sand, the most deal settngs are the maxmum level of the ron dscrmnaton,
ron swtch o and mneral 2 or 3 modes. You can also use these settngs when searchng n wet plowed land wth hgh ron eect.
2) It enables metals contanng ron to produce a low tone and to be dscrmnated more easly. Dscrmnaton starts at about
level 4 - 6. Below ths level, all metals ncludng ron wll produce a non-ferrous (hgh) tone and generally speakng the devce wll
perform at ts maxmum depth. In addton, ron swtch wll not be actve below ths level.
Ths settng s desgned for tough ground condtons and experenced users. For normal
ground condtons or f you do not want to bother wth ths settng t s recommended that
you keep t at the factory settng (FS).
Ths settng has 2 man purposes:
1) Especally n areas of hgh ron mneralzaton and wet beach sand you may not be able to
ground balance the devce. In such a case, you can use ron dscrmnaton. By turnng the ron
dscrmnaton knob to the rght, you can enable the ground eect to be reected as ron and
elmnate t by turnng the ron swtch o.
When you want to avod detectng ferrous metals you can turn the ron swtch o and enable
the devce to elmnate these metals and not produce a warnng tone.
NOTE: Many metals consdered to be trash may not produce a ferrous metal sgnal. For
example, pull tabs may be sensed as a non-ferrous metal by most detectors because ther
sgnal s very smlar to that of gold.

MINERAL MODES
Mineral Modes: If you are searchng on hgh mneralzed ground (extremely salty sol, wet
beach sand, wet plowed land or hghly magnetc ground condtons) you may not be able to
ground balance the devce. In such a case, frst turn the On/O knob to mneral 1. If the devce
s stll gettng nose, turn t to mneral 2 or mneral 3. Ths wll elmnate the nose and false
sgnals caused by mneralzaton. However, you may experence a decrease or fadng n the
sgnal obtaned from certan metals at maxmum depths.
As mentoned before, especally on grounds wth hgh ron content such as wet salt water
beach sand and wet plowed land, t s recommended that you search n mneral 2 or 3 mode,
brng the ron dscrmnaton to maxmum level and turn the ron swtch o.
SIGNAL AUDIO BOOST
Please note that sgnal audo boost should be used on a temporary or as-needed bass because t wll not only boost the
target sgnal audo but t wll also boost the loudness of ground nose and false sgnals. Therefore, t s recommended to keep
the swtch at poston 1 and turn t to poston 2 or 3 only when you want to verfy a weak metal sgnal and then turn t o
agan.
The sgnal audo boost swtch boosts the sound of weak sgnals receved from small or deep
metals makng t easer for you to detect those uncertan targets.
At poston 1, the booster s o. At 2, the sgnal audo wll be hgher and at 3, t wll be heard
at ts maxmum.

SEARCHING AND METAL DETECTION
5cm
After the settngs are adjusted, you can start searchng by lftng the search
col 5cm. above the ground and sweepng t rght and left, keepng t parallel
to the ground.
The devce operates on the prncple of moton. Ths means that you must
move the search col over the target or the target over the search col, n order
for the devce to see t. In other words, metal detecton s not possble
wthout movng the search col.
To avod mssng smaller and deeper targets, sweep the search col both from rght to left and left to rght over each area you
are scannng, slghtly overlappng the sweeps as you move forward.
When the devce detects metal, t wll produce an audble tone.
The devce has 3 tone audo dscrmnaton. The lower tone s for ferrous metals. For non-ferrous metals and gold, the devce
produces 2 very smlar hgh tones. In case of alloy detecton the devce may produce a hgh-low double-tone sound. In order
to get famlar wth the derent tones of your devce, t s recommended that you practce wth derent types of metals and
dentfy the sounds before you use t out n the feld.
NOTE: Dscrmnaton, just lke n any other metal detector, may not always be 100% accurate. There are many derent factors
aectng dscrmnaton accuracy. All metals based on ther conductvty, shape, orentaton underground, depth and ground
mneralzaton are sensed derently by a detector. Oxdzed metals bured under ground for a long tme such as tnplates and
tns may produce gold lke sgnals.
Followng the experenced metal detector users' rule of thumb "when n doubt, dg" s the rght thng to do.
