PBX CONNECTION SETTINGS WHEN THE FAX KIT “FK-502” IS INSTALLED
Descrizione / Description
This document describes procedure needed to configure correctly the “PBX Connection Settings”
A. PBX Configuration:
When the Optional FAX Kit “FK-502” is installed , Administrator can decide to configure the “PBX
Connection Setting” with the “Outside Line Number”, so that User has not to type the switchboard number
for the outside line before the FAX Number. With this setting enabled, it is managed automatically by the
MFP.
To configure this Function perform the following settings step by step:
1. In Administrator Mode Enable the PBX settings:
a) Enter the flag in the square near to “PBX Connection Setting”.

b) Enter the Number for the “Outside Line”. (In this example the Number “0” was entered,
because it is number of our Switchboard for the outside line).
c) Click on OK button to confirm the settings.
d) Exit from Administrator Mode
Note:
•This setting can be made also in made directly from the Touch Screen Display of MFP:
“Utility / Counter ÎAdministrator Îenter the Administrator PSW (Default PSW is
12345678) ÎFAX Settings ÎPBX Connection Settings ÎEnable it and enter the
“Outside Number”
B. How to enter the FAX Number
MFP can manage correctly the “Outside Line Number” only if the “FAX Number” registered in the
“Address Book” was entered correctly.
Please follow of the procedures below described when you storing a FAX Number in the Address Book.
Note:
•If the FAX Number was not correctly stored in the Address Book, the MFP cannot sent the FAX
because it has not access to the outside line; and the Error “T82” or “T82” occurs.
1. Procedure via WEB Page
The FAX Number can be stored using the “Public” access level, or using the “Administrator” access
level; this depend if the Administrator has restricted this function at User level.

a) Digit the IP Address or the Host Name on Internet Explorer bar. The “Public Access level” is
automatically opened.
b) Click on “Address Book” icon
c) Click on “Address Book” ΓStore Address” ΓNew Registration” ÎSelect “FAX” and
then click on “OK” button
d) Enter the Name which will showed in the Address Book list. (In this example:
“FAX_PBX_TEST1”)
e) Specify a Keyword for Address Search
f) Enter the “Destination FAX Number”. In this case the “Destination Number has to be
entered as in the example showed in the picture above: “E-0125412238”
Note:
•E- ÎIt is the Prefix which inform the MFP that it has to use the “Outside Number”
set in the “PBX Connection Setting” (See Point 1 of this TIB)
•0125412238 ÎIt is the really FAX Number
g) Confirm the “Destination FAX Number” entering it as explained in the point “c)” above: “E-
0125412238”
2. Procedure via Touch Screen Display
Perform the following procedure step by step for storing a new FAX Number directly from the Touch
Screen Display.
Note:
•As for WEB page, FAX Number can be stored using the “User” access level, or using the
“Administrator” access level; this depend if the Administrator has restricted this function at
User level.
a) Press “Utility / Counter” key ÎSelect “One-Touch / User Box Registration” button ÎSelect
“”Create One-Touch Destination” button ÎSelect “Address Book (Public) button ÎSelect
“FAX” button ÎSelect “New” button
b) Enter the “Name” which will showed in the Address Book list. (In this example:
“FAX_PBX_TEST1”)
c) Enter the FAX Number performing the followings steps:
I. Press “FAX Number” button

Note:
The button “Outside” becomes “highlighted” only after having pressed the
“FAX Number” button.
II. “Press “Outside” button in order to enter “E-“
III. Enter the FAX Destination Number “0125412238”
Note:
•E- ÎIt is the Prefix which inform the MFP that it has to use the “Outside Number”
set in the “PBX Connection Setting” (See Point 1 of this TIB)
•0125412238 ÎIt is the really FAX Number
d) Click on “OK” button to confirm the settings.
e) “Enter FAX Number again to Confirm” popup is automatically opened.
f) Perform the following steps to enter again the FAX Number:
I. “Press “Outside” button in order to enter “E-“
II. Enter the FAX Destination Number “0125412238”
Note:
•E- ÎIt is the Prefix which inform the MFP that it has to use the “Outside Number”
set in the “PBX Connection Setting” (See Point 1 of this TIB)

g) Click on “OK” button to confirm the settings and store this FAX Destination in the Address
Book.
NOTES:
•After having performed the settings on Point 1 and on Point 2, the MFP is able to use the “Outside Line
Function”.
•Remember the following two important points:
The "E-" has to be entered before the FAX Numbers which must be sent through the
switchboard.
The "E-" has not to be entered before the FAX Numbers which must be sent internally, without
passing through the switchboard
