•Do not bring the insertion tube in contact with a liquid other than water, saline, machine oil or
light oil. It may damage the instrument.
•If the O-ring at the tip of the insertion tube or inside the optical adapter is positioned
incorrectly or chips exist on its surface, water can get into the joint area between the insertion
tube and optical adapter which may cause malfunction or damage.
•Do not cover the instrument with a plastic bag or other object during use. If the inside of the
instrument cannot be cooled, the instrument may be damaged.
•Do not use this instrument where it is exposed to direct sunlight.
•The LCD monitor may not display data normally when the instrument is used in an
environment where temperatures are below 0°C. Use the instrument after using a heater to
bring the area to room temperature.
•Bringing the instrument indoor from cold atmosphere subjecting it to sudden temperature
change can cause condensation to form inside the instrument. Using the instrument while
condensation is formed creates the risk of malfunction. Wait until the instrument reaches the
same temperature as the room before using it.
•Never use the instrument in areas where strong radiation is present.
•Supply only pure air with no additives, such as oil from the air supply connector. Also, use an
air filter to remove dust and moisture from the air supply. If dust or moisture gets into the
instrument it may cause a malfunction.
•Do not remove the recording card from the RECORDING CARD slot while playing back or
recording still images, audio and movies. Otherwise, the data recorded in the recording card
may be destroyed.
•The CF card is a static sensitive device and static electricity may cause it to malfunction.
Discharge static electric charges before using a CF card.
•Be careful to not trip on the power cord, insertion tube, or other cords.
•Do not pull the cable of the insertion tube, remote control or other equipment with a strong
force. Otherwise, the insertion tube or cable may be damaged or the instrument may topple
over or fall.
•When opening or closing the LCD monitor, take care that you do not pinch your fingers
between the LCD monitor and the instrument.
•If the USB connector or other connectors become wet, wipe them dry.
Also, if any foreign matter gets into a connector, remove it.
•Accidentally dropping the instrument while cables, a USB memory device, or other device is
attached to a connector can damage the connector or the item that is attached to it.
•Use USB connectors only to connect via a USB cable to a computer, a USB memory, or a
USB keyboard recommended by Olympus. Never connect any other type of USB device.
•Make sure that battery cover, I/F connector cover, slot cover, AC adapter cover are firmly closed.
•Do not open the battery cover, I/F connector cover, slot cover, AC adapter cover with wet
hands, or under damp or dusty environment.
•Do not expose optical lens to the sun or a laser beam during use or at the time of storage.
