WARRANTY/DISCLAIMER
OMEGA ENGINEERING, INC. warrant thi unit to be free of defect in material and
workman hip for a period of one (1) year from the date of purcha e. In addition to OMEGA’
tandard warranty period, OMEGA Engineering will extend the warranty period for four (4)
additional years if the warranty card enclo ed with each in trument i returned to OMEGA.
If the unit malfunction , it mu t be returned to the factory for evaluation. OMEGA’ Cu tomer
Service Department will i ue an Authorized Return (AR) number immediately upon phone or
written reque t. Upon examination by OMEGA, if the unit i found to be defective, it will be
repaired or replaced at no charge. OMEGA’ WARRANTY doe not apply to defect re ulting
from any action of the purcha er, including but not limited to mi handling, improper interfacing,
operation out ide of de ign limit , improper repair, or unauthorized modification. Thi
WARRANTY i VOID if the unit how evidence of having been tampered with or how
evidence of having been damaged a a re ult of exce ive corro ion; or current, heat, moi ture
or vibration; improper pecification; mi application; mi u e or other operating condition out ide
of OMEGA’ control. Component which wear are not warranted, including but not limited to
contact point , fu e , and triac .
OMEGA is leased to offer suggestions on the use of its various roducts. However,
OMEGA neither assumes res onsibility for any omissions or errors nor assumes liability
for any damages that result from the use of its roducts in accordance with information
rovided by OMEGA, either verbal or written. OMEGA warrants only that the arts
manufactured by it will be as s ecified and free of defects. OMEGA MAKES NO OTHER

Now that you are in the run mode with a tran ducer connected to
the meter, do the following:
1. Simulate a load on the tran ducer (leave the pre ure port
open).

If You Have Bipolar Input ±50mV
The typical etting for your meter i unipolar. If, however, you
have bipolar input ±50mV, you mu t in tall jumper S1B. Remove
the outer panel mounting leeve to expo e the jumper.

Using This Qui k Start Manual
U e thi Quick Start Manual to get your High Performance Strain
Gage Indicator up and running right out of the box. The e
in truction u e the factory default etting of 100mV uni olar
in ut and 10 Vdc sensor excitation. If you have voltage or
current input, refer to the main manual.

or on the CD-ROM enclosed with your shi ment.
To tart your unit:
• Connect ac power
• Wire the en or
• Configure the meter, u ing the front panel button and the
configuration menu
Your unit hould have the following part :
• Panel mounting ga ket
• ac Power Connector (orange P1), two Input Connector
(P3 and P9), and rear protective cover (mounted).
For detailed in truction , refer to the appropriate ection in the
Operator’ Manual.
Before You Begin
In addition to the unit and related part , you will need the following
item to et up your unit:
• ac power a li ted on meter’ product/ID label
• External en or (e.g.; load cell)
• 1/8” Phillip head crewdriver
• 1/8” flat blade crewdriver
Safety Consideration
This device is marked with the international Caution
symbol.
The in trument i a panel mount device protected in accordance
with EN 61010-1:2001, electrical afety requirement for electrical
equipment for mea urement, control and laboratory. Remember that
the unit ha no power-on witch. Building in tallation hould
include a witch or circuit-breaker that mu t be compliant to IEC
947-1 and 947-3.
SAFETY:
• Do not exceed voltage rating on the label located on
the top of the in trument hou ing.
• Alway di connect power before changing ignal and
power connection .
• Do not u e thi in trument on a work bench without
it ca e for afety rea on .
• Do not operate thi in trument in flammable or
explo ive atmo phere .
• Do not expo e thi in trument to rain or moi ture.
EMC:
• Whenever EMC i an i ue, alway u e hielded cable .
• Never run ignal and power wire in the ame conduit.
• U e ignal wire connection with twi ted-pair cable .
• In tall Ferrite Bead( ) on ignal wire clo e to the
in trument if EMC problem per i t.
Mount the Unit
1. Cut a panel opening u ing the
dimen ion hown to the right.
2. Po ition the unit in the opening,
making ure the front bezel/
ga ket i flu h with the panel.
3. From the rear of the panel, lide
the leeve forward over the ca e
and up to the panel urface.
4. The panel hould now be
andwiched between the bezel-
backed ga ket in front and the
leeve in back.
5. Replace the thumbnut that ecure the leeve tab to the ca e.
START HERE
Warning: Do not connect AC ower to your device until
you have com leted all in ut and out ut connections.
This device must only be installed by a s ecially trained
electrician with corres onding qualifications. Failure to
follow all instructions and warnings may result in injury!
Conne t a Power
1. Remove the rear protective cover and et it a ide. The cover
i ecured with a Phillip -head crew.
2. Locate connector P1 on the bottom-left-rear of the unit. The
connector ha three crew-down terminal ( ee below).
3. In ert the correct wire in each terminal and tighten the
lockdown crew. Tug gently on each wire to verify the
connection.
Wiring a Millivolt Output Sensor
The following example how wiring a bridge input to the meter.
1. Locate connector P3 and P9 on the right- ide rear of the
unit.
2. Attach the wire and tighten the retaining crew . Tug gently
on the wire to verify the connection.

a. Remove ac power.
b. Verify the P1 power and en or connection .
c. Check your power ource.
d. Apply ac power again.
4. Replace the rear cover. Thread the en or wire through the
lot on the ide of the cover. Replace the rear cover
retaining crew.
Determine Meter S aling Fa tor
Calculate the caling factor o the meter di play the de ired
engineering unit . A uming no known load, u e the formula:
RDG SC = di play pan/[( en or’ mV/V output) (10,000)]
where: di play pan = de ired di play at full cale
en or’ output pan = mV/V

Configure the Meter
U e the front panel button to acce the configuration menu , to
either verify or et the unit value . The fir t table that follow
de cribe function of each button on the front of the meter. The
econd table ummarize the key equence you mu t pre and
the menu you will ee to get your meter running. For a tep-by-
tep procedure of pecific ta k , refer to the configuration ection
following the table .
