GETTING STARTED
SOLAR PANEL
This product uses two AAA rechargeable batteries which
should be charged via the solar panel. For the batteries’
rst charge, it is strongly advised to charge it for at least
12 hours.

To charge the battery:
1. Detach solar panel by exerting downward pressure and
pulling at a 45° angle (approx.) away from main unit.
2. Insert 2 AAA rechargeable batteries in battery
compartment located at the back of the solar panel.
IMPORTANT Place ONLY NiMH type rechargeable
batteries in the solar panel battery compartment. Do not
charge non-rechargeable batteries.
3. Expose the solar panel directly to sunlight for
approximately 5-6 hours to charge the battery. The
(red) CHARGING LED on solar panel will light up
indicating there is sunlight and unit is charging.
TIP Press and hold TEST located at the back of the solar
panel. (Green) FULL LED indicates batteries have been fully
charged.
4. Align holes with protruding plastic. Push solar panel
towards main unit and snap into place.
5-6 hours of battery charging will normally provide power to
operate unit for 2 months.
When the rechargeable battery is nearly at or when solar
panel has been detached, the (green) LED indicator on the
main unit and will ash.
TIPS
• For best results when charging the battery, place the
solar panel directly with view to sunlight.
• Direct solar panel as follows:
Solar panel facing: if you reside in the:
North Southern Hemisphere
South Northern Hemisphere
• Do not scratch the solar panel’s surface or wipe it with
strong detergent.
• Do not expose the solar panel to rain, snow or
moisture.
• The duration of the rechargeable battery’s charging or
operating time is determined by either the intensity of
sunlight or the position of the solar panel towards the
sun.
• Do not overcharge the batteries.

BACKUP POWER
1 piece AAA battery
In the case when the rechargeable battery is at or nearly
at or when the solar panel has been detached, the AAA
battery can act as backup power supply for the main unit.
1. Remove the battery compartment located at the base
of the unit.
2. Insert the battery, matching the polarity.
3. Press RESET after each battery change.
Power adaptor (not included)
The adaptor powers the unit and can also be used for
charging the rechargeable battery. When connected to the
main unit, will be displayed.
NOTE The main unit and adaptor should not be exposed to
wet conditions. No objects lled with liquid, such as vases,
should be placed on the main unit and adaptor.
REMOTE SENSOR
This product can work with up to 3 sensors at any one time
to capture temperature readings in various locations.
To set up the remote sensor:
1. Slide open the battery compartment.
2. Slide channel switch to select a channel (1, 2, 3).
Ensure you use a different channel for each sensor.
3. Insert the battery, matching the polarities.
4. Press RESET after each battery change.
5. Close the battery compartment.
6. Press and hold SEARCH for 2 seconds to initiate a
sensor search.
NOTE Use alkaline batteries for longer usage and
consumer grade lithium batteries in temperatures below
freezing.
The remote sensor reception icon will show the following
status:

TIP Ideal placements for the sensor would be in any
location on the exterior of the home at a height of not more
than 1.5 m (5 ft) and which can shield it from direct sunlight
or wet conditions for an accurate reading.

CLOCK AND CALENDAR
CLOCK RECEPTION
This product is designed to synchronize its clock
automatically with a clock signal.
BAR332ES: EU: DCF-77 signal: within 1500 km (932 miles)
of Frankfurt, Germany.
BAR332ESU: UK: MSF-60 signal: within 1500 km (932
miles) of Anthorn, England.
BAR332ESA: WWVB-60 signal: within 3200km (2000
miles) of Fort Collins Colorado.
To enable / disable clock signal reception:
Press and hold to enable or to disable clock signal
reception.
NOTE Reception takes 2-10 minutes. If the signal is weak,
it can take up to 24 hours to get a valid signal. If signal
reception is unsuccessful, place your unit next to a window,
press and hold to force another signal search.
Clock signal reception indicator:

MANUALLY SET CLOCK
To set the clock manually, disable the clock signal reception
rst.
1. Press and hold .
2. Press / to change the settings.
3. Press to conrm.

The settings order is: time zone, 12/24 hr format, hour,
minute, year, calendar mode (month – day / day – month),
month, day and language.
BAR332ES / BAR332ESU: Time zone offset sets the clock
+/- 23 hours from the received clock signal time. If you have
deactivated the clock signal reception, do not set a value
for time zone.
NOTE If you enter +1 in the time offset setting, this will
give you your local time plus one hour. If you are in the US
(BAR332ESA) set the clock to:
PA for Pacic time MO for Mountain time
CE for Central time EA for Eastern time
NOTE The language options are English (E), German (D),
French (F), Italian (I), Spanish (S) and Russian (R).
To select clock display:
Press to toggle between clock with seconds, clock with
weekday and calendar.
ALARM
To set the alarm:
1. Press and hold to enter alarm setting.
2. Press / to set hour / minute.
3. Press to conrm.
indicates alarm is ON.
To activate / deactivate alarm:
Press .
To silence the alarm:
• Press SNOOZE to silence it for 8 minutes
OR
• Press any key to turn the alarm off and activate it again
after 24 hours.
To display alarm:
Press .
TEMPERATURE
To toggle temperature unit:
Press °C / °F.
To toggle between each outdoor sensor’s readings:
• Press repeatedly
OR
• Press and hold for 2 seconds to initiate auto toggle
of outdoor channels.
WEATHER FORECAST
This product forecasts the next 12 to 24 hours of weather
forecast within a 30-50 km (19-31 mile) radius.

AU COMMENCEMENT
PANNEAU SOLAIRE
Ce produit utilise une pile rechargeable que vous devez
charger à l’aide du panneau solaire. Lors de la première
utilisation, nous vous recommandons de charger la pile
pendant au moins 12 heures.
Pour charger la pile :
1. Détachez le panneau solaire en exerçant une pression
vers le bas et en le tirant à environ 45° de l’appareil
principal.
2. Insérez 2 piles rechargeables AAA dans le compartiment
des piles situé à l’arrière du panneau solaire.
IMPORTANT Insérez des piles rechargeables de type
NiMH dans le compartiment des piles du panneau solaire.
Ne pas charger des piles non rechargeables.
3. Exposez le panneau solaire directement face au
soleil pendant approximativement 5 à 6 heures pour
recharger les piles. La LED CHARGING (rouge) sur le
panneau solaire clignotera pour indiquer que l’énergie
solaire est sufsante pour recharger l’appareil.
ASTUCE Appuyez et maintenez TEST située à l’arrière du
panneau solaire. La LED FULL (vert) indique que les piles
sont entièrement chargées.
4. Alignez les trous avec le plastique qui dépasse.
Poussez le panneau solaire en direction de l’appareil
principal et remettez-le en place.
Charger la pile pendant 5 à 6 heures vous permettra
normalement d’exploiter l’appareil pendant 2 mois.
Si la pile rechargeable est presque vide ou si le panneau
solaire est détaché, le voyant LED (vert) situé sur l’appareil
principal et l’icône clignoteront.
CONSEILS
• Pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats lors du chargement
de la pile, positionnez le panneau solaire directement
vers le soleil.

• Orienter le panneau solaire comme suit :
Panneau solaire orienté : si vous habitez :
Nord L’hémisphère sud
Sud L’hémisphère nord
•Ne pas rayer la surface du panneau solaire ou ne pas
la nettoyer avec un détergeant agressif.
• Ne pas exposer le panneau solaire à la pluie, la neige
ou l’humidité.
• La durée de chargement de la pile rechargeable ou sa
durée de fonctionnement est déterminée par l’intensité
du soleil ou la position du panneau solaire.
• Ne pas surcharger les piles rechargeables.
ALIMENTATION DE SECOURS
1 pile AAA
Dans l’éventualité où la pile rechargeable est vide ou
presque vide, ou si le panneau solaire est détaché, vous
pouvez utiliser la pile AAA en tant qu’alimentation de
secours pour l’appareil principal.
1. Retirez le compartiment des piles situé à la base de
l’appareil.
2. Insérez la pile, en respectant les polarités.
3. Appuyez sur RESET (REINITIALISER) après chaque
changement de pile.
Adaptateur secteur (non inclus)
Vous pouvez également utiliser un adaptateur secteur pour
recharger la pile. Une fois branché à l’appareil principal,
l’icône s’afchera.
REMARQUE N’exposez ni l’adaptateur ni l’appareil
principal à l’humidité. Ne placez aucun récipient rempli d’eau
comme les vases sur l’appareil principal ou l’adaptateur.
SONDE SANS FIL
Ce produit peut être accompagné à tout moment de 3
sondes relevant la température en divers endroits.
Installation de la sonde sans l :
1. Ouvrez le compartiment des piles.
2. Positionnez l’interrupteur de canal pour sélectionner
un canal (1, 2, 3). Assurez-vous d’utiliser un canal
différent pour chaque sonde.
3. Insérez les piles, en respectant les polarités.
4. Appuyez sur RESET (REINITIALISER) après chaque
changement de pile.
5. Fermez le compartiment des piles.
6. Appuyez et maintenez SEARCH pendant 2 secondes
pour initier une recherche de sonde.
REMARQUE Utilisez des piles alcalines pour un usage
prolongé et des piles au lithium en cas de températures
négatives.
