This Deep fryer is equipped with an ex lusive Sure Release Power Cord
System, whi h in ludes a deta hable magneti ord designed to separate
from the unit when ertain amounts of for e are applied. (See details on
page 4 for instru tions on proper usage of the Sure Release magneti ord.)
A short power supply ord is provided to redu e the risk resulting from
be oming entangled in or tripping over a longer ord.

POLARIZED PLUG
This applian e has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider
than the other). As a safety feature to redu e the risk of
ele tri al sho k, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, onta t a
qualified ele tri ian. Do not attempt to defeat this safety
feature or modify the plug in any way. If the plug fits
loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm
do not use that outlet.

BEF RE USING YUR STER®CL TUCH DEEP FRYER
Before using your OSTER®Deep Fryer for the first time, remove all pa kaging
materials from the exterior and interior of the fryer. Make sure the fryer is unplugged.
Clean the frying basket, lid, oil reservoir and ondensation trap (all these parts are
dishwasher safe). Dry all parts thoroughly. See
CARE AND CLEANING .
DO NOT IMMERSE THE DEEP FRYER
IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID!

PARTS IDENTIFICATI N
Before using your Deep Fryer for the first time, you should be ome familiar
with all of the parts. Read all Instru tions and Safeguards arefully.
USING YUR STER DEEP FRYER
NOTE: Never plug in fryer with an empty Oil Reservoir. Always use your fryer on
a flat, heat resistant surfa e.
• Atta h magneti end of Sure Release power ord
assembly dire tly to the fryer. This should be done
prior to plugging the ord into the wall outlet. The
magneti end of the ord is designed only to go on
one way. Be sure the side stating “THIS SIDE UP”
is fa ing up. (See Figure 1)
• Open Lid by pressing the Lid Button.
• Remove Frying Basket.
• Pour ooking oil into Oil Reservoir until it rea hes
between “MIN” and “MAX” marks inside reservoir.
DO NOT OVER OR UNDER FILL. Pla e the
Frying Basket ba k into Fryer in the upper position
by hooking over oil reservoir. (See Figure 2)
• Close Lid.
• Insert plug into 120 volt AC outlet.
• The power light will ome on and the Fryer will
begin heating.
• Turn the fryer to desired temperature position.
• For best results, wait 20 minutes for the oil to rea h ooking temperature.
Open Lid by pressing the Lid Button.
CAUTION: Es aping steam is hot! Be areful when opening lid.
• With the Frying Basket in the upper position, pla e food inside Frying Basket
(Do not over sta k food). Close Lid. Lower the basket into oil by lifting it up
off hook and setting down into the oil.
CAUTION: Always repla e and lose Lid before immersing food in oil. Do not
immerse or drain food with Lid removed or open. Dis onne t Plug from wall.
WARNING: DO NOT USE SURE RELEASE POWER CORD SYSTEM TO
DISCONNECT THE FRYER. ALWAYS DISCONNECT PLUG FROM WALL
OUTLET FIRST TO DISCONNECT FRYER.
Use only Model #PL1215 magneti ord set with this produ t. The use of any other
magneti ord set may ause fire, ele tri sho k, or injury.
CAUTION: The Sure Release Power Cord is only for a idental dis onne tion and
is not to be removed during normal operation. If the ord be omes dis onne ted, the
user should immediately unplug the ord set from the wall outlet, then re onne t.

H INTS F R B EST R ESULTS
• Fill the unit with oil between the maximum and minimum apa ity lines only.
• Do not over fill the basket. To a hieve quality results deep frying food needs to be
surrounded by oil. Too mu h food auses the oil temperature to drop, resulting in
“soggy” food. Food should be no higher than the top of the basket.
• Be sure that all i e rystals are removed from the food and food is ompletely dry.
Ex essive water and i e an ause the oil to splatter and/or overflow.
• Coated foods (bread rumbs, batters, et .) are best for deep frying. The oating
a ts as a prote tive layer keeping food moist on the inside and risp on the outside.
• For best results, defrost frozen foods for 20 minutes prior to frying.
• Fry foods at the orre t temperature for best results. This will prevent burning and
give you even olored, rispy food.
• Prepa kaged frozen ooked hi ken may ook faster than un ooked food.
• For even ooking, shake basket half way through ooking time.
• Do not use seasoned or flavored oil su h as walnut, olive oil, lard or drippings
be ause they have a low smoke point. Use blended vegetable oil, pure orn oil,
sunflower oil, soybean oil or grape seed oil ( anola oil) be ause these oils have a
high smoke point. Peanut oil is not re ommended be ause it impa ts the
flavor greatly.
• Oils should never be mixed when deep frying.
• High heat, water and burnt food parti les break down the oil’s smoke point.
• Repla e oil if you noti e:
- Ex essive smoking at normal temperatures
- Strong oil dis oloration
- A ran id smell
- Ex essive foaming around the frying food
• Oil darkens with use be ause the oil and food mole ules burn when subje ted to
high/prolonged heat. The more you use an oil, the more slowly it will pour.
Its vis osity hanges be ause of hanges to the oil’s mole ular stru ture. When
smoke appears on the oils’ surfa e before the temperature rea hes 375°F, your oil
will no longer deep-fry effe tively.
• When frying foods with strong flavor and/or aroma like fish or hi ken, use the oil
only on e.
• Filtering the oil with a ooking oil filter or fine-mesh strainer an keep it fresher.
Although storing oil in a refrigerator may extend the life of the oil, this should never
be done. This pro ess of hilling oil then bringing the oil to room temperature auses
ex essive splattering during the heat up pro ess.
• Store the overed oil in a ool dark pla e, for up to three months. Che k the oil
before using for olor, smell, or ex essive foaming. Dis ard the oil if it shows any
of these qualities.
C ARE AND C LEANING
WARNING: Always turn ontrol to OFF then dis onne t plug from wall outlet
BEFORE dis onne ting Sure Release Power ord.
CAUTION:
• Do not immerse ord sets in water or any liquids
• Do not attempt to defeat the deta hable magneti Sure Release Cord system
by trying to permanently atta h ord set to produ t.
• Do not sti k pins or other sharp obje ts in holes on magneti ord set.
• Do not use any type of steel wool to lean magneti onta ts.
NOTE: Make sure fryer has ooled before leaning.
• Turn unit OFF.
• Unplug from outlet and allow unit to ool ompletely.
• Remove Sure Release magneti ord from the fryer so ket.
• Remove the Lid.
• Open the Filter Cover and remove the Filters.
• Remove Frying Basket.
• Carefully pour the oil into a storage ontainer. Store oil in an airtight ontainer.
See Hints for Best Results.
WARNING: Do not remove Oil Reservoir until the unit has ooled ompletely
and is unplugged.
Clean the outside of the Deep Fryer with a damp loth and dry.
CAUTION: Never immerse the fryer in water or wash in running water.
• Remove Condensation Trap from the ba k of the fryer.
NOTE: This trap will olle t any water that has been ondensed on the inside of
the Lid when the Lid is opened after frying. Remember to empty and lean the
Condensation Trap after ea h use.
• The Frying Basket, Lid and Condensation Trap are dishwasher safe. Dry all parts
thoroughly after leaning.
• Ensure that both the Lid and Oil Reservoir are ompletely dry after washing and
before use.
• Pla e Frying Basket into bowl.
• Put Filters ba k into Lid and put Cover on.
• Repla e and lose Lid.

R EPLACING AND C LEANING F ILTERS
NOTE: Repla e every 3 months or after 12 uses.
• Open the Filter Cover, and remove filters.
• Foam white Grease Filter may be washed in hot soapy water. Allow to air dry.
• Char oal Filters are not meant to be washed and it is re ommended to repla e
every 3 months or after 12 uses.
• Clean the inside of the over with a damp soapy sponge. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Pla e lean White Grease Filter on Lid, followed by Bla k Char oal Odor Filter,
then repla e Filter Cover.

The frying times in this hart are a guide and should be adjusted to suit the different
quantities or thi kness of food and to suit your own taste.
Preheat time is 15-20 minutes for fryer to rea h desired temperature.

APPLE FRITTERS
3 ups all-purpose flour 4 tbsp. ooking oil
2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. pure vanilla extra t
1/2tsp. salt Jui e of 1 orange (1/3up)
1 up sugar 1 up hopped apple
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Preheat oil to 375° F. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; set aside.
Combine egg, ooking oil and vanilla. Combine dry and liquid ingredients and
stir to blend thoroughly. Add orange jui e and apple and mix well. Drop from
teaspoon into hot oil (Basket should already be lowered into oil). Fry about 2
minutes or until risp and very brown. Remove from fat and drain. Dust with
powdered sugar or a mixture of granulated sugar and innamon; serve at on e.
BEER BATTER FR FISH R CHICKEN
2 large eggs, separated 1/4tsp. ground bla k pepper
1 tbsp. oil or butter 11/3ups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt 3/4up flat beer
Preheat oil to 375° F. Beat egg yolks with oil/butter, salt and pepper.
Alternately add the beer and flour to mixture. Beat ingredients well and
refrigerate for 3 to 12 hours. When you are ready to use mixture, arefully fold
in 2 stiffly beaten egg whites. Pat fish or boneless hi ken breasts. Coat lightly
with flour then dip into beer batter. Pla e fish in hot oil (basket should already
be lowered) and fry for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Fry hi ken 5 to 8
minutes or until brown and fully ooked.
DEEP FRIED CHICKEN
1 fryer hi ken (21/2lbs.), ut up 1/4tsp. salt
11/2ups all-purpose flour 11/4ups milk
1 tsp. seasoned salt
Preheat oil to 375° F. Combine flour and seasonings. Dip hi ken pie es in
flour, then milk, then flour again. Fry for 20 minutes or until golden brown
and done.
CHICKEN KIEV
4 whole boneless, skinless hi ken breasts 1 sti k of butter or margarine
1 tbsp. hopped onion 1/2up all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. hopped parsley 1 large egg, beaten
11/3tsp. salt 1 up fine, dry bread rumbs
Preheat oil to 375° F. Pla e hi ken breasts between two pie es of plasti wrap.
Pound with wooden mallet to flatten to 1⁄4-in h thi k. Remove plasti .
Combine onion, parsley and salt and sprinkle on hi ken. Cut butter into
8 pie es. Pla e a pie e of butter on seasoned hi ken toward one end. Roll as
jelly roll, starting at end with butter, tu king in sides of meat. Press to seal well.
Se ure with toothpi ks. Dust with flour, dip in beaten egg, then roll in bread
rumbs. Chill rolls of hi ken thoroughly (at least one hour). Pla e rolled
hi ken in a single layer in fry basket. Lower and ook 5 minutes or until
brown. To test for doneness, remove a pie e of hi ken from the oil. When
fork an be inserted with ease, hi ken is done.
QUICK DUGHNUTS
Refrigerated an of bis uits 1/2up sugar
2 tbsp. ground innamon
Preheat oil to 375° F. Take ea h bis uit and flatten slightly with palm of hand.
With finger, pun h holes in enter of ea h bis uit to shape into doughnuts. Fry
2 minutes, turning on e. Remove from fat and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle
doughnut in mixture of innamon and sugar. Serve warm.

• Abra la tapa presionando la tapa del botón
• Remueva la anasta para freír
• Vierta a eite de o ina en el reservorio de a eite hasta
que al an e un nivel entre las mar as “mínimo” (Min)
y “máximo” (Max) dentro del reservorio. NO LLENE

• Cierre la tapa
• Inserte el en hufe en el toma orriente AC de 120V.

• Para mejores resultados, espere 20 minutos para que el a eite al an e una
temperatura de o ión. Abra la tapa presionando el botón de la tapa.

REC MENDACI NES PARA MEJ RES RESULTAD S
• Llene la unidad on a eite entre las líneas de máximo y mínimo de apa idad
solamente.
• No llene en ex eso la esta. Para lograr resultados de alidad friendo por inmersión
los alimentos ne esitan estar rodeados de a eite. Demasiado alimento ausa que el
a eite pierda temperatura, resultando un alimento “pegajoso”. Los alimentos no
deben quedar por en ima del tope de la esta.
• Asegúrese que los alimentos estén ompletamente se os. Ex eso de agua o restos

• Alimentos on obertura (de pan rallado o alguna mez la, et .) son los mejores
para freír por inmersión. La obertura de afuera a túa omo una apa prote tora
manteniendo la humedad del alimento por dentro y dejándola ro ante por fuera.
• Para mejores resultados, des ongele los alimentos ongelados 20 min. antes de
freírlos.
• Para mejores resultados fría los alimentos a las temperaturas ade uadas. Esto
evitará que se quemen y le brindará alimentos ro antes y on un olorido uniforme.
• Pollos o inados, ongelados y preempa ados se o inarán más rápidamente que
alimentos sin o inar.
• Para o iones uniformes, menee la esta durante la mitad del tiempo de o ión.
• No use a eite aderezado o on sabores omo a eite de nuez, de oliva, mante a o
restos de grasa porque tienen un punto de humo bajo. Use a eite vegetal, a eite puro
de maíz, de girasol, de soya o de anola porque estos a eites tienen un punto de
humo alto. El a eite de maní no es re omendado porque impa ta mu ho el sabor.
• Los a eites nun a deben mez larse uando se está friendo en inmersión.
• La temperatura muy alta, el agua y las partí ulas de alimento quemadas

Mientras más use un a eite, más lento sale al verterse. Su vis osidad ambia por
los ambios de la estru tura mole ular del a eite. Cuando apare e humo en la
superfi ie del a eite antes de haber al anzado la temperatura de 375º F, su a eite ya
no freirá ade uadamente.
• Cuando fría alimentos on sabores y/ o aromas fuertes omo pes ado, pollo, use el
a eite una sola vez.
• Colando el a eite on un olador de a eite o un filtro de malla fina puede mantener
su fres ura. Aunque guardando el a eite en el refrigerador puede extender su
dura ión, nun a debe ha erse. Este pro eso de enfriar el a eite y volverlo a traer a
la temperatura ambiente ausa que salpique ex esivamente en el pro eso de
alentamiento.
• Alma ene el a eite ubierto en un lugar os uro, hasta por tres meses. Revise
antes de usar el a eite tanto su olor, olor, o espuma ex esiva. Dese he el a eite

CUIDAD Y LIMPIEZA
ADVERTENCIA: Siempre gire la perilla de ontrol a la posi ión OFF y luego
desen hufe el able del toma orriente antes de des one tar el Sure Release del able.
PRECAUCIÓN:
• No sumerja el onjunto de ables en agua o ualquier otro líquido.
• No mantenga one tado permanentemente el sistema removible de able magnéti o
de poten ia Sure Release al produ to.
• No lave pinzas u objetos afilados dentro de los hue os del onjunto de ables magnéti os.
• No use ningún tipo de esponjas de alambre para limpiar los onta tos magnéti os.
NOTA: Asegúrese que la Freidora se haya enfriado antes de limpiar.
• Ponga la unidad en OFF.
• Desen hufe del toma orriente y permita que la unidad se enfríe ompletamente.
• Remueva el able magnéti o Sure Release de la freidora.
• Remueva la Tapa.
• Abra la Cubierta del Filtro y saque los Filtros.
• Remueva la Cesta para Freír.
• Vierta uidadosamente el a eite en un ontenedor para alma enar. Alma ene el a eite
en un ontenedor sellado. Vea las re omenda iones para mejores resultados.
PRECAUCIÓN: No retire el reservorio del a eite hasta que la unidad se haya enfriado
por ompleto y este desen hufada.
Limpie el exterior de la Freidora on un paño de tela húmedo y luego séquela.
CUIDADO: Nun a sumerja la freidora en agua o lave en agua.
• Remueva la Trampa para ondensa ión de la parte trasera de la freidora.
NOTA: Esta trampa re ole tará el agua que haya sido ondensado en el interior de
la tapa uando la tapa es abierta después de freír. Re uerde de va iar y limpiar la
Trampa de Condensa ión después de ada uso.
• La Cesta para Freír, Tapa, Re ipiente de A eite, y la Trampa de Condensa ión
se pueden lavar en el lava vajillas. Seque todas las partes ompletamente después
de la limpieza.
• Asegúrese que tanto la Tapa omo el Re ipiente de A eite estén ompletamente se os
después de lavarlos y antes de usarlos.
• Coloque la Cesta para Freír dentro del Re ipiente.
• Ponga los Filtros de vuelta dentro de la tapa y ponga la Cubierta.
• Coloque la Tapa y ierre.
CAMBI Y LIMPIEZA DEFILTR S
NOTA: Cambie ada 3 meses o después de 12 usos.
• Abra la Cubierta del Filtro, y remueva los filtros.
• El Filtro blan o de goma espuma puede ser lavada on agua jabonosa aliente.
Deje se ar al aire libre.
• Los Filtros de Carbón no son para lavarse y se re omienda ambiarlos ada 3 meses
o después de 12 usos.
• Limpie la parte de adentro de la ubierta on una esponja jabonosa mojada.
Enjuague y seque ompletamente.
• Coloque el Filtro Blan o de Grasa sobre la Tapa, seguido por el Filtro Negro de
Carbón para Olor, enton es vuelva a olo ar la Cubierta del Filtro.

REEMPLAZAND LA BATERÍA DEL CR NÓMETR
Esta freidora esta equipada on un ronómetro digital que trabaja on su propia batería.
De tiempo en tiempo podría ser ne esario que ambie la batería en el ronómetro.
1. Inserte un desarmador pequeño en la ranura junto al visualizador del ronómetro y
saque todo el ronómetro ha ia fuera.
2. Retire la batería y reemplá ela on una batería tipo LR44

BUÑUEL S DEMANZANA
3 tazas de harina para todo uso 4 das. de a eite para freir
2 ditas. de polvo de hornear 1 dita. de extra to de vainilla
1/2dita. de sal Jugo de Naranja ( 1/3 de taza)
1 taza de azú ar 1 taza de tro itos de manzana
1 huevo, ligeramente batido
Pre alentar el a eite a 375º F. Combine la harina, polvo de hornear, sal y azú ar, ponga
aparte. Combine el huevo, a eite y la vainilla. Mez le muy bien los ingredientes se os y
líquidos. Agregue el jugo de naranja y la manzana y mez le nuevamente. Con una
u haradita vaya e hando la mez la dentro del a eite aliente (la Cesta ya debe estar
bajada dentro del a eite). Fría alrededor de 2 minutos o hasta que estén ro antes y
bastante dorados. Remueva de la grasa y es urra. Espolvoree on azú ar en polvo o
on una mez la de azú ar granulada y anela; sirva inmediatamente.
MEZCLA PARA PESCAD PLL A BASE DECERVEZA
2 huevos, separados 1/4dita. pimienta negra molida
1 da. de a eite o mantequilla 11/3taza de harina para todo uso
1 dita. de sal 3/4taza de erveza
Pre alentar el a eite a 375º F. Bata las yemas de huevo on a eite/mantequilla, sal y
pimienta. Agregue alternadamente la erveza y la harina a la mez la. Bata bien los
ingredientes y refrigérelas de 3 a 12 horas. Cuando usted esté lista para usar la mez la,
uidadosamente agregue on movimientos envolventes las 2 laras de huevo batidas a
punto de nieve. Aplaste un po o el pes ado o las pe hugas de pollo sin huesos. Cubra
ligeramente on harina y después on la mez la de erveza. Coloque el pes ado en el

Pre alentar el a eite a 375º F. Combine la harina y los aderezos se os. Pase las piezas de
pollo por harina, luego le he y harina nuevamente. Fría por 20 min. o hasta que se
doren y estén o idos.
PLL A LA KIEV
4 pe hugas enteras de pollo 1 barrita de mantequilla
deshuesadas y sin piel o margarina
1 da. de ebolla pi adita 1/2taza de harina
1 da. de perejil pi adito 1 huevo, batido
11/3dita de sal 1 taza de pan rallado fino
Pre alentar el a eite a 375º F. Coloque las pe hugas de pollo entre dos pedazos de papel
de envoltura de plásti o. Golpéelas on un mazo de madera para aplanarlas hasta ¼ de
pulgada de grosor. Quite el plásti o. Combine ebolla, perejil y sal y espolvoree sobre el
pollo. Corte la mantequilla en 8 trozos. Coloque ada trozo de mantequilla sobre un
extremo de pe huga sazonada. Enrolle omo si fuera un rollo de mermelada,
omenzando por el extremo on mantequilla, metiendo los bordes de la arne. Apriete
bien para sellar. Asegúrelos on palillos de dientes. Espolvoree on harina, remoje en el
huevo batido, después ruédelo sobre el pan rallado. Refrigere los rollitos de pollo (por
lo menos 1 hora). Colóquelos en una amada dentro de la esta de freír. Baje la esta y
o ine por 5 minutos o hasta que doren. Para probar si están listos, remueva del a eite
un pedazo de pollo. Cuando el tenedor entra on suavidad, el pollo ya está listo.

Lata de galletas refrigeradas 1/2taza de azú ar
2 das. de anela molida
Pre alentar el a eite a 375º F. Agarre ada galleta y aplástela suavemente on la palma
de la mano. Con el dedo, oprímale un hue o en el entro de ada galleta para obtener
la forma de rosquillas. Fría 2 minutos, volteándolas una vez. Remuévalas del a eite y
