1. Function Test
TOOL/EQUIPMENT

OPERATION DESCRIPTION

Insert SD card and AA*2 batteries to power on. Confirm if the FW
version is correct. Enter capture mode and confirm if the battery status is
consistent with the actual status, and the memory displa
y
ed on LCD is SD
card icon.
2 Take one photo in auto mode and press playback button to confirm the
photo. There should not be any abnormity during capturing /saving/
playback process.

View towards far and near in capture mode respectively. Check if the
image on LCD is clear or the display is offset; check if the noise and bad
dots on LCD towards dark place accord with the spec. Check if LCD is
color abnormal or the brightness is normal;

1. Press W/T ( / ) to extend to Tele and go to digital zoom and
retract to W, confirm if lens flexing is normal. Take a piece of photo
towards flowers in Wide.
2. Press right button (self-timer mode) of four-way button,
TET-LCD should displays self-timer icon and time. Choose 2s to
take a photo towards flowers in forced flash mode .

Shift to P mode, left-upper of LCD displays Pmode. Press the menu.
button then select White balance and press OK button
to enter white balance menu. Press up/down to white
balance item. LCD color under different white balance mode should be
regular.

Shift to Portrait mode, the left-upper display icon. Press display
button (OK button), confirm if TFT-LCD can be turned on.
Shift to Landscape mode and take a photo towards far (more than
3m) in no flash mode .
Shift to Sport mode and the left-upper of LCD should displa
y
sport
icon.
7 Shift to Night mode and take a picture towards dark place in
red-eye mode . Camera must flash and the sequence of advance flash
and main flash should be obvious.

Take 30 pictures in forced flash mode and confirm if there are
abnormities, such as missing flash, hang on, power off automatically etc.
Switch to video mode and the left-upper on LCD should display .
Press shutter button to record more than 5s, using sound box to catch
sound.

Connect to TV and press playback button to enter playback mode to view
the pictures. There should not be NG pictures and the pictures should not
have color aberration. Select Movie document and press set button to
enter playback. The voice should not be abnormal or too low. Press wide
button and LCD displays nine-thumbnail image. Press four-wa
y
button to
select the picture. Press protect button to protect the photo. All the above
operations should be normal.

Switch to setup mode and select LCD brightness and press OK button to
enter the LCD brightness adjust menu. Press left and right button to
adjust the LCD brightness and confirm if the LCD brightness changes
regularly. Select format menu to format the internal memory of camera
and reset s

stem. After this, power off and confirm if the lens can retract.
*S1 : Press down halfway

2. Troubleshooting

R82, R83, R85, R86 are cold solder or

and related circuit are cold solder or

4. Firmware Update Procedure
To update this camera firmware, you will need to have
1. The new firmware file.
2. One SD card.
3. One card reader.
Please follow the steps below to perform the update process:
1. Prepare a formatted and empty SD card.
2. Insert a SD card to the card reader. Copy the firmware file (file name
should be "dc5345r.elf") into the SD card. Make sure the new firmware file
is copied to the SD card.
3. Insert the SD card into the camera.
4. Plug in the AC adapter into the camera.
5. Press "Shutter" & "Playback" button at the same time and press “Power”
button, then loosen “Power” button, LCD will display the image and loose the
“Shutter”, “Playback “ button. At this time camera enters update process
automatically and LED blinks.
6. When LED stops blinking, LCD will display the “OK” ,it means update ok.
7. Reformat the SD card if you want to use it again.
Note: Don’t remove the power source during firmware update procedures.
