TheBV1 is a lightweight solo pod harness,designed specicallyfor vol bivmissions butisequallysuitedforeverydayying.It
featuresanincrediblebalanceofcomfort,storagespaceandweight,madepossiblebyhighlyevolvedconstructiontechniquesand
modernmaterials.Nitinolrodsassistwiththeergonomicbacksupport,andanalgorithmicallycalculatedDyneemathreadload-
bearingseampatterncarriesthepilotload.Well-provenlightweightfabricsareusedthroughouttheinterior/exteriorsurfacesand
thestoragecompartments.
OzoneTeamPilotandvol-bivrecordholder,AntoineGirard,washeavilyinvolvedintheplanninganddesignofthisharness,which
hetestedinunforgivingconditionsduringdevelopment.DurabilitywasakeyconcernandtheBV1isastrongandreliabletoolwhich
lacksnothingyou’llneedfordeepvol-bivexcursions.Withexcellentbackandlumbarsupport,andjudiciouslyreinforcedareasof
wear,theBV1isascomfortableasitistough.Inight,itisstableandreassuringinactiveair,withhandlingandprecisiontunedfor
pilotingadvancedwings.
The BV1 features an under-seat compartment, back pocket with two access zips for storage and hydration systems, large side
pocket(bigenoughforcameraandpoleextension),toppod-pocketandunder-reservepocket.Theamplestorageandsoliddesign
makestheBV1equally suited to intensevol-bivexpeditionsandforeverydayying forpilotswhowant lighterweightand more
storagecapacity.
Advanced3DmodellinghasensuredthattheBV1maintainsitsaerodynamicefciencyevenwhilecarryinglargeamountsofvol-biv
equipment,preservingtheoverallperformanceofyourwingduringadventureying,whenyouneeditmost.
Aneasilyinatedbackprotectoroffersalargeprotectionareawithexcellentresultsincerticationshocktests(27G),whilebeing
highlycompressible.TheBV1hasaverylowpackvolumewhenstowed.

UNDER-SEAT PROTECTION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
The BV1 features a certied EN/LTF/CE inatable under seat protector. Cleverly designed, it offers excellent impact absorption
propertiesdespitethelowweightandvolume.Theprotectionisinplaceupondelivery,butrequiresinatingbeforeuse.Shouldyou
needtoremoveitorreplaceitpleasefollowtheinstructions.
Theprotectionislocatedinthepocketfoundundertheseat,toremove
theprotectionfromtheharnessrstyouneedtoremovethestopperfrom
theinationpipefoundinthemainrearpocket.Unlockthestopperand
slideitoffthepipe.
Openthepocketfoundundertheseatandwiththeprotectiondeated,removeitwhilstfeeding
thepipethroughtheholefromtherearcompartment.

UNDER-SEAT PROTECTION INFLATION
Theprotectionisinatedbyhandusingtrappedairinsidethesuppliedspecialstuffsack.
Toinatetheprotectionopentherearpockettoaccesstheinationpipe.
Makesurethestopperisintheopenpositionandattachtheinationpipeto
theoutletfoundonthestuffsack.

Closeoffthetopofthestuffsacbyrollingittightlyinthehandstotraptheairinsideandpush/
squeezesotheairistransferredintotheprotection.Theprocessmayneedtoberepeateduntilthe
protectionisfullyinated.
Oncetheprotectionisfullyinated-tothepointatwhichyoucannoteasilyaddany
moreairusingthestuffsack-closetheinationpipestopperfully.
Ensuretheunderseatpocketthatcontainstheprotectionisfullyandcompletelyclosedwiththezip
locatedneatlyintheredretainer.Thisisanessentialpartofthesafetyandimpactabsorptionofthe
harness.Failuretodosowillmaketheprotectionlesseffective.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the ination pipe stopper and the underseat zip are
fully closed. Failure to do so will result in the protection not functioning
correctly.

SPEED SYSTEM
Alightweightintegratedspeed-lineisincludedasstandard.Thespeedsystemisalreadyinstalledbythefactorybutifyoueverneedto
replaceit,ensureitisroutedasfollows.
Routethefreeendofoneofthelinesdownthroughthesmallreinforcedslitfoundonthesidepanelof
theharness.
Pass the line through the Ronstan pulley and then the ring ensuring the pulley is
nottwisted.Ensurethatthelinesruncleanlythroughthepulleysandpassonthe
insideofallstructuralwebbingstraps.Double-checkthelineshavenotinadvertently
wrappedaroundanyofthestructuralwebbingstrapsbeforeattachingthemtothe
bar.Thebarcanthenbejoinedwiththebungeesattachedtothefootplate
Onceintheair,andwhenitissafetodoso,checkthatyoucanplaceyourfootonthebareasilyandthatthesystemoperatessmoothly
allthewaytofullspeed.
IMPORTANT: The speed bar lines must be of equal length, ensure they are not too short as this will
inadvertently activate the speed system when under tension in the air. Always double-check lengths and
symmetry whilst on the ground before ying.

TheBV1hasanintegralfrontmountedreserveparachutecontainer.Thecontaineriscertiedforparachuteswithavolumeofbetween
3and5ltr,andwillaccepttheAngelSQproandmostmodernlightweightrescueparachutes.WehavetesteditwiththeAngelSQ120
whichts,itwillalsojustaccepttheAngelSQ140-butitisaverytightt.Werecommendtouseasmallerlightweightparachutewith
asmallpackingvolume.
WARNING: Ozone strongly recommends that the reserve parachute system is installed by a qualied
professional. Always seek experienced advice if you have any doubts.
Makesureyouperformapracticethrowfromastatichangpoint.Notonlydoesthisensurethecorrectfunctioningofyourdeployment
systemitalsoallowsyoutobecomemorefamiliarwiththeinstallationprocess.
Please note, the parachute handle is on the right hand side of the container and should be thrown with the
right hand.
TheBV1 doesnothave adedicatedreserve parachutedeploymentbag, usetheone
suppliedwith your parachute. The parachute shouldbepacked in such a waythatit
matchestheshapeanddimensionofthefrontcontainer.Attachthedeploymenthandle
usingaLarksfoot totheexteriorloopofthedeployment bag.Donotusethecentral
loop.

Ensure the harness bridle is correctly routed into the
reservecompartmentasshown.
Please note, the BV1 is only suitable for reserve parachutes with a short bridle.
Attachtheharnessbridlestotheparachute’sbridleusingasuitableconnectorandsecuretheends
withelastics(notsupplied).Alternatively,theparachutebridlecanbeattacheddirectlytotheharness
bridleswithaLarksfoottosaveweight.
Ensuretheparachutecontainerzipispositionedfullytotherighthandside
-wherethebridleentersthecontainer.Feedthehandlethroughthegapand
placethe deployment bagneatly within the container.The parachute lines
shouldbepositionedunderneaththeparachute.

Now the 3 yellow pins need to be threaded
throughtheirrespectiveloops.Startwiththe
pinthatfeedstowardstherearoftheharness.
Each pin must go through the loops in the
correctorder,withtheredlooprst.Oncethe
redloopand3smallerblackloopshavebeen
threaded, place the pin in the end retainer
loop.
Usethesameprocedureforthepinthat
faces towards the front of the harness.
Oncetherstcoupleofloopsaredone,
closethezipslightlytomakeiteasierto
threadthroughtheremainingloops.

The third pin follows the direction of the harness bridles.
Aftertherstcoupleofloopsareinplacepullthezipsothat
theremainingloopscanbethreaded.
Beforeplacingthepinintheendpocket,positionthehandle
underthepintokeepitneatlyinplace.Finallythepincanbe
placedintheendpocket.
Theparachutecontainerandbridlecompartmentzipscannowbeclosedfully.Make
sure the zips are fully closed and located in their respective end compartments.
Failuretodosowillresultininadvertentun-zipping.

Beforeyourrstight,werecommendtosuspendtheharnessfromasuitablystrongpoint
tocheckthatittsyoucorrectlyandtobecomefamiliarwiththefeaturesandadjustments.
You can set the shoulder adjustment-straps to nd the best t, and adjust the lumber
supportsothattheyleaveyouinacomfortablyreclinedposition.
Toputtheharnessonrstplacetheshoulderstrapsoveryourshoulders.ThelegstrapsfastenwiththeTlockbuckles,colouredcoded
foreachside.SliptheTlockcompletelythroughtheloopandsecureinplacewiththeelasticloop.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the elastic loop is correctly in place.
Failure to do so could result in the leg straps coming undone.
