Standard Scanner Warranty
Panasonic scanners come with a standard manufacturer warranty. These warranties are valid from the
date the end-user purchased the scanner from an Authorized Panasonic Scanner Reseller. Standard
manufacturer scanner warranties are listed below, along with the models to which they apply.

Panasonic Corporation of North America will repair and/or exchange your defective unit, exclusive of
consumables, free of charge within the continental U.S.A, Puerto Rico**, Alaska** and Hawaii** in the
event of a defect in materials or workmanship with a comparable rebuilt, reconditioned, or reclaimed unit
for (x) free year(s) after the original purchase excluding limited life items.
On-Site Warranty1
Panasonic Corporation of North America will repair and/or exchange parts for your unit, exclusive of
consumables, free of charge within the continental U.S.A, Puerto Rico**, Alaska** and Hawaii** in the event
of a defect in materials or workmanship with new or comparable rebuilt parts in exchange for defective
parts for six (6) months after the date of original purchase. Service will also be provided for six (6) months
after the date of original purchase.

The Panasonic Service Program also offers some professional services that can be included at the time
of purchase of the service agreement, including:
Installation Services
This service includes installation of the scanner drivers and related bundled software on the workstation
as well as end-user training on its use.
Training Services
This service includes end-user training for common required maintenance, as well as consumable
replacement.
Inspection Service
This service allows an out of warranty / contract scanner to be inspected prior to being put on a service
contract. This cost would be credited should the service agreement be purchased within 30 days of
the inspection.
Preventative Maintenance Service
The PM (Preventative Maintenance) service is a thorough cleaning of the unit and replacement of any
necessary consumables (consumables sold separately). For all Low-Volume Production, Mid-Volume
Production, and High-Volume Production units, 2 PM services are included with all on-site contracts.
This service allows the purchase of additional PMs. Additionally, co-terminus contracts ‘earn’ 1 PM for
every 6 months purchased.

Scanner Warranty Contract Definitions
Advance Exchange Contract
When determined that product needs repair, a comparable unit is sent to the customer via overnight
shipping. The customer has 7 days to ship the original unit back.
Depot Repair Contract
When determined that the product needs repair, shipment is arranged to send the unit to Panasonic
for repair. It is repaired and returned within 5 business days of receipt.
On-Site Repair Contract
When determined that the product needs repair, and it is covered by an on-site contract or warranty,
a Panasonic trained technician will visit the customer’s place of business to facilitate repairs.
All on-site contracts include: 2 PMs (for Low-Volume Production, Mid-Volume Production, and
High-Volume Production scanner units only), parts, labor and travel. Consumables are the responsibility
of the end-user.
Next Business Day
Service is provided at the customer’s site Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:00 AM
and 5:00 PM EST. Response time is 8 business hours.
Same Business Day
Service is provided at the customer’s site Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:00 AM
and 5:00 PM EST. Response time is 4 business hours.
24/7
Service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding holidays. Response time is 4 hours.
In-Warranty
A service contract that is sold within 90 days of the time of purchase of the main unit.
Post-Warranty
A service contract that is sold after 90 days of the time of purchase of the main unit.
