1. Safety information
This Operating Manual contains important information to make machine operation safe
and economical. For this reason the machine should be operated only after the Operat-
ing Manual has been read and understood.
1.1. Obligations and liability
•The basic requirement for safe usage and problem-free operation of this machine is
knowledge of the basic safety information and safety regulations.
•This Operating Manual and especially the safety information should be observed by
everyone who works on the machine.
•In addition to this, the rules and regulations for accident prevention, applicable at the
place of installation, are also to be observed.
•The machine has been constructed in accordance with current technology and with
accepted safety regulation technology. Even so, during usage dangers may arise for
the user or third parties because of interference with the machine or with other mate-
rial assets. The machine is therefore to be used only
ofor the specified applications
oand when the machine is in perfect and technically safe order.
When there are faults which could impair machine safety, the machine should be
switched off and the fault cleared. Only after this should the machine be switched on
again.
●Guarantee and liability claims for personal injury and property damage will be ruled
out if they can be attributed to one or more of the following causes:
-Usage of the machine not in accordance with specification
-Improper assembly, installation, operation or maintenance of the machine.
-Operation of the machine with defective or improperly installed or functionally inca-
pable protection and safety equipment.
-Ignoring the advice in the Operating Manual with reference to transportation, storage,
assembly, installation or maintenance of the machine.
-Unauthorised changes to the machine.
- Unauthorised changes to the performance capacity or drive ratios of the machine.
- Inadequate monitoring of machine parts subject to wear.
- Repairs carried out improperly.
-Catastrophic cases caused by extraneous events and force majeure.

Beware! Threat to life!
There is always a threat to life when dealing with electri-
cal equipment.
In case of injury by pressurised fluids, call for a
doctor immediately. There is a risk of infection!

1.3. Dangers and how to avoid them
Safe working on the machine requires a combination of machine, controls, tooling, pro-
tection equipment and proper safety behaviour by the user.
In the majority of machine accidents, injuries are caused by self-closing tools. In these
cases mainly finger and hand injuries are involved. The risk of injury applies just as much
to other people as to machine operators.
1.4. Use in accordance with specification
The EOMAT ECO provides pre-assembly of EO Progressive ring and EO-2 tube fittings
onto tube ends and ISO 8434-1 cutting ring tube fittings.
Only tubes in sizes 6 to 42mm OD can be used for the assembly process.
Use in accordance with the specification of the EOMAT ECO machine presupposes that
the machine will be used only within the framework of the possibilities indicated by the
technical specification and will be operated only when in perfect functional order.
Other applications can be dangerous and exclude any further indemnification whatsoever.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage or injury which result from improper use.
1.5. Specified tooling
The operating company is obliged to use only such suitable tools as are manufactured in
accordance with our specifications, with special reference to
-material
-heat treatment
-geometry
1.6. Improper use
1. Use other than that detailed above is not permitted, because dangers can arise
during improper use which can injure people working on the machine or in its vicin-
ity, or damage the machine.
2. Common improper uses:
-vicing machine parts, eg bearings, bearing bushes
-use of unsuitable tools
-seamed applications
-processing materials unsuitable for forming

1.7. Essential qualifications
The machine was designed and built after considering a risk analysis and after careful
selection of harmonised standards, as well as further technical specifications, to be com-
plied with. It thereby corresponds with the current state of technology and guarantees the
very highest safety standards.
In working practice this degree of safety can be achieved only if all the measures that it
requires are met. It is down to the duty of care of the operating company to plan these
measures and to control their implementation.
In particular, the operating company must ensure that
•the machine is used only in accordance with specification (on this, see chapters
1.4 to 1.6),
•the machine is operated only in perfect functional condition and that the safety
equipment in particular is regularly checked for satisfactory functionality,
•the Operating Manual is always available in a complete and legible condition at
the place where the machine is installed,
•all the safety and warning notices installed on the machine have not been re-
moved and remain legible.
The machine may be operated only by personnel who have been appropriately instructed,
have received on-the-job training and are properly authorised. These personnel must be
familiar with the Operating Manual and act in accordance with it. Current authorisations for
operating personnel must be clearly established.
Operating personnel under training may for the time being work on the machine only un-
der the supervision of an experienced person. Completed, successful on-the-job training
must be confirmed in writing.
All control and safety devices may be activated strictly only by trained personnel.
1.8. Protective clothing
For any type of work on the machine, all users are obliged to wear at least the following
personal protective clothing:
•Safety footwear
•Closely fitting work clothing

1.9. Organisational measures
The requisite personal protection wear is to be made available by the operating company
and always maintained in a functional condition.
All the available safety equipment should be regularly checked.
1.10. Protection equipment
Each time before the machine is used, all protection equipment must be properly installed
and be capable of functioning correctly.
1.11. Informal safety measures
-The Operating Manual should always be kept at the machine.
-Complementing the Operating Manual, generally applicable and also local regula-
tions regarding electrical supply, accident prevention, health and safety standards and
environment protection should be made available and should be observed.
-All safety and danger notices on the machine should be maintained in legible condi-
tion and renewed as necessary.
1.12. Operator’s working position
In normal working mode the operator’s working position is immediately in front of the ma-
chine. The controls are arranged so that he can operate them from this position.
No special working positions are provided for installation or maintenance.
2. Safety advice throughout the life of the machine
2.1. Erection and installation
The machine may be moved and set up only by a means of transportation suitable for the
weight of the machine. The machine must be located on an area suitable for the weight of
the machine and its tooling. A secure position must be provided for the machine when it is
set up. The machine may be operated only by personnel trained and authorised for the
purpose, who are familiar with the Operating Manual and can work accordingly.
2.2. Safety measures during normal operation
The machine should be operated only if all the protective equipment is fully functional. Be-
fore switching the machine on, ensure that nobody can be endangered by the machine or
by any movement of the tubing being formed. The machine should be checked regularly
for externally visible damage and for the functionality of the safety equipment.

2.3. Maintenance and servicing, elimination of faults (see chapter 14)
Carry out on a regular basis the adjustments, servicing and maintenance stipulated. After
completing any maintenance work and before switching on again, check the functionality
of the safety equipment..
2.4. Working on the electrical equipment
•All work on the machine’s electrical equipment should be carried out in principle only
by properly qualified skilled electrician personnel.
•If problems with the electrical supply occur, the installation should be switched off im-
mediately.
•Before starting any work on parts of the installation which are provided with electrical
power, the installation should be disconnected from the supply and secured against
unexpected reconnection.
•The installation’s electrical equipment must be checked regularly. Defects such as, for
example, cable damage, loose connections, etc. should be reported immediately and
made good.
•All personnel not authorised to carry out work on the system’s electrical supply must
be barred from access to the interior of the control cabinet.
2.5. Working on the hydraulic equipment
The machine works with the help of hydraulic pressure power. When dealing with hydrau-
lic power, there are definite special safety measures to be observed.
•All work on the machine’s hydraulic equipment must in principle be carried out only
by properly qualified skilled staff.
•Any system sections or pressure circuits to be opened must be switched to zero
pressure before repair work commences.
Fluids escaping under high pressure can penetrate the
skin and cause severe injury.
In case of injury by pressurised fluids, call a doctor
immediately. There is a danger of infection!

2.6. Residual energy
Bear in mind that after the machine has been switched off or when it is idle, various resid-
ual energies can be present, as, for example,
•in hydraulic pressure lines and pressurised containers
•in live power lines and capacitors.
2.7. Constructional changes to the machine
•No modifications, additions or alterations to the machine may be undertaken without
express authorisation by the manufacturer.
•Change immediately any machine parts not in proper condition or get in touch with the
manufacturer.
•Use only genuine spare parts.
2.8. Machine cleaning and disposal
Cleaning: - withdraw plug before cleaning
- use only alkaline cleaning materials
Disposal: - when disassembling to enable disposal, observe the qualifications stipulated
(see table in chapter 16).
2.9. Accident prevention regulations, health and safety directives
The operating company should without fail comply with accident prevention regulations
and health and safety directives.
In case of accident, switch machine off immediately.

3. Emissions
3.1. Noise
The sound pressure level of the noise generated by the machine at the working position of
operator personnel is less than 75 dB (A).
3.2. Vibrations
No significant vibrations caused by the working procedure are emitted by the machine. No
vibration-damping measures are required.
3.3. Electromagnetic tolerance
The machine’s electromagnetic tolerance complies with EU Directive 89/336/EWG.
The electromagnetic radiation generated by the machine is sufficiently screened. The ma-
chine’s interference resistance to electromagnetic radiation meets legal requirements.

The EOMAT ECO is a portable machine for the simple pre- and final assembly of EO Pro-
gressive ring and EO-2 fittings. With the EOMAT ECO even large tube dimensions can be
installed in areas where the use of an EOMAT assembly machine is not possible.
The EOMAT ECO consists of a hydraulically-driven tool and a hydraulic power unit. The
hydraulic assembly pressure is pre-set on a pressure switch and displayed.
4.2. Safety equipment
The machine is provided with ON and OFF buttons.
The assembly process is initiated by the ON button. It should be kept pressed down until
the assembly pressure has been achieved: only then will the cylinder move back to its
starting point.
If errors should occur during assembly, the cylinder can be taken back immediately to its
starting position via the OFF button.

7. Packing, transportation and storage
7.1 Packing
The machine will be delivered on a particle board half-pallet, covered with card-
board packaging and secured with straps.
7.2 Transportation
Transportation in original packing according to 7.1:
the machine can be transported with the help of a fork-lift truck.
Transportation without original packing:
The EOMAT ECO can be carried by the carrying handle at the side just like a suit-
case or pulled by the front telescopic handle. This must be fully withdrawn.
Telescopic handle security during transportation:
Remove the spring cotter under the machine. It is marked by a red
tape.
7.3 Storage
Storage may be undertaken only in a closed, dry space and protected against me-
chanical damage.
Maximum relative air humidity 80%, not condensing.
Ambient temperature: +5°to + 45°C
If stored for more than 14 days, the machine must be specially protected and
packed.
8 Erection of the machine
The machine needs a set-up location of about 760x800 mm.
The securing measures during transportation may be removed only when the machine
has been placed on its appropriate location.
The machine should be examined for transportation damage before the erection
work commences. The place where the machine will be set up must be suitable
for the weight of the machine and its tooling.
All the machine connections (cables) are to be made so that people will not trip
up on them.
The machine may be operated only in an enclosed dry area. The surface must
be even and level.
