1. Cabinet installation (Entry/Exit
Terminal):
Make sure all the preparation works in section 1 below are all completed before moving
terminal out of shipping package, and secure terminal to the pre-installed anchor bolts
with nuts, washers and two(2) metal bars come with the shipment onto a proper
position.
1.1. Shipping package:
Terminal cabinet is normally securely fastened by 4 big metal bolts on a wooden pallet,
and covered with cushion material before packed into a wooden box to insure a safe
shipping trip.

Note：Two(2) terminal keys are hanged on to the lock node inside of cabinet door.

1.2. Foundation island preparation:
1.2.1. Suggested dimensions:
A cement foundation island for installing terminal and barrier is recommended with the
suggested dimensions as: 20cm(H) x 460cm(L) x 80cm (W) to ensure the safety of
equipment and service personnel.

1.2.2. Power, network cable, control signal & intercom wires:
Make sure all the following wire and cable items are properly pre-installed to foundation
island:
Electric power line (to both terminal and barrier) –PVC 2.0 mm2 / 3C.
Parking system network cable (to terminal only) –Standard CAT-5 (with RJ45
connector).
Intercom wire (to terminal only) –PVC 0.75 mm2 / 2C.
Control signal wire (from terminal to barrier) –22AWG / 8C.
1.2.3. Anchor bolts:
For a stronger strength, pre-install embedded type anchor bolts (M16 stainless steel)
are highly recommended at the time of building the cement foundation island. Refer
to figure below for embedding dimension reference:
Or drill and install expansion type of bolts (M16 stainless steel) as below picture:

1.3. Detection loop wire installation:
1.3.1. Suggested loop wire specification:
UL style 1015 AWM VW-1 18AWG TA
Wire size: 18AWG.
Conductor type: Multi-core Stranded tinned.
Insulation type: PVC (better to be LXPE)
Insulation withstanding voltage: 600V.
1.3.2. Loop position and wiring guide:
Maintain a 200cm minimum distance between 2 adjacent wire loops.
Maintain a 50cm minimum distance to any metal equipment from a wire loop.
Maintain a 100cm minimum distance to a sliding metal door if any.
Loop lead in: LOOP1 lead in should be at the car entering side, and LOOP2 lead in
should be at the car leaving side.
Loop lead to terminal of LOOP1 and LOOP2 should not over cross each other.
The loop wire pair (from loop lead-in to terminal) need to be twisted (about 20 times

per meter).
Installation should avoid too close to large size metal objects, heavy power cables,
large water surface, and try to keep loop surface area clean and dry.
Installations close to large size metal objects or influenced by heavy power cables
can try to use “8” shape loop wiring installation. (Refer to the following drawing)
1.3.3. Ground slot cutting for loop wire installation:
Suggested ground slot figure and dimension:
Suggested normal length of Y is 120cm, but adjustable from 100cm~200com.
Suggested length of X is drive way width minus 100cm (50cm from each side of the
drive way edge).
Each corner would have a 10cm x 10cm chamfer.

Suggested slot depth and width:
Slot width: 0.2cm~0.5cm.
Slot depth: Normally about 3.5cm, or can be calculated with the following formula:
2.5cm + Number of loop turns x 0.2cm
Suggested cutting tool:
A 4” or above wet (water proof) circular saw with diamond blade.
Note：Pour water to prevent heavy dust while cutting.

1.3.4. Loop wire installation instruction:
1. Remove and clean up any additional objects and dirt from the ground slot cut.
2. Preserve extra length of loop wire required, in case of wire length consumed by the
wire twisting section from loop to terminal.
3. Straighten the wire, loop it and place into the bottom of the ground slot with a tool
like a wood stick; until reaching at least the min. number of loop turns required.
4. Place backer rods (must be non-metal material and roughly 30cm long with 2.5cm
piece spaced in between every piece) on top of the loop wires to hold them stay at
the bottom position of the slot.
5. After properly installation of the wires, placing the sealant into the loop slot. (Sealant
material can be EPOXY or same as drive way pavement)
6. Avoid air remaining in the loop slot when applying sealant with proper tool.
7. Scratch off extra sealant to maintain a flat surface of the drive way. Do not make the
sealant top higher than the drive way surface to avoid wire loops get damaged by
passing cars.

2. Cable & wire connection:
2.1. Connect loop wires to loop detectors:
2.1.1. Where are loop detectors?
Loop detectors are option items to be purchased, and if purchased from Parktron, they
will be pre-installed inside terminal cabinet (refer to image below).
If not purchased from Parktron, please verify your loop detectors are functional
compatible with Parktron system.
2.1.2. Loop wire connection to loop detector:
Detach loop detector from the connector seat, connect twisted loop wire pair to PIN 7 &
PIN 8 on loop detector seat for both loop 1 & loop 2, and plug back loop detector.

Loop wiring condition verification:
Press “RESET” button on the loop detector and check the DETECT and POWER LEDs:
POWER LED (red color) light should be on, if not, check AC power source and fuse
(0.5A, inside of the detector).
DETECT LED (green color) light should be either on (detected status) or off (no
detection status):
If blinking, check the loop wiring for a short circuit first.
If blinking very slowly, loop wiring does not have enough turns. Add extra loop turns
until DETECT LED light is not blinking.
If blinking very rapidly, loop wiring has too many turns. Remove loop turns until
DETECT LED light is not blinking.
Note：Setup diff. frequency for nearby detectors

Loop detector fine tuning:
Frequency setup:
If the default LOOP1 = “OFF, OFF” & LOOP2=”ON, ON” frequency setup is not
working well then following the test below to configure detection frequency for
individual detectors.
Use a 25 cm x 25 cm metal plate as a detection object. Hold it above the wire loop,
about 50 cm above the ground level to start. Slowly move down and reduce the
height until the metal object is detected by the loop detector. Record the detected
height for both wire loops.
Select the loop detector with less detection distance (less sensitive) to setup
detection frequency first.
Use the same metal plate to test 4 available frequencies (refer to Dip switch setting
table above: DIP9 and DIP10) on the first (less sensitive) loop detector and select a
good frequency for it.
After the frequency of first loop detector decided, test the remaining 3 frequencies
on the second loop detector and select one best frequency for it.
Sensitivity adjustment:
Applying the adjustment to both loop detectors.
Suggested detection height (sensitive range): 20 cm ~ 40 cm. (Using the 25 cm x 25
cm testing metal plate)
Sensitivity rating: 0 to F, 0 has the minimum, F has the maximum sensitivity.
Press “RESET” after sensitivity adjustment for new setting to apply.
2.2. Connect barrier gate to terminal:
2.2.1. Terminal I/O control board wiring contact points reference:
CN2 - Wiring connector for barrier gate control on terminal I/O control board V4:
BR_OP : Output signal, open barrier gate.
BR_CL : Output signal, close barrier gate.
BR_L.L : Input signal, Barrier position detection.
BR_V+ : Input power of barrier controller, +V. DC12/24V.
BR_GND : Barrier controller power grounding, for output/input signals.
JP2 –Adjust jumper according to barrier gate open/close control signal common
point:
If common point is 0V (GND), make jumper middle pin short with BR_GND.
★Important：
The detection frequency must be different between 2 loop detectors.

If common point has +12~24V (V+), make jumper middle pin short with BR_V+.

2.2.3. For other types of barrier:
Type 1:
Barrier open/close signal common = +12V~+24V (V+).
Output signal type of barrier arm close position: Relay output N.C.
When barrier arm reach lowest (close) position: N.C. -> Open.
Type 2:
Barrier open/close signal common = +12V~+24V (V+).
Output signal type of barrier arm open position: Active high.
When barrier arm reach highest (open) position: Up Position output signal 0V ->
+5V~+24V.

Type 3:
Barrier open/close signal common = +12V~+24V (V+).
Output signal type of barrier arm close position: Active low.
When barrier arm reach lowest (close) position: Down Position output signal
