Utsätt inte enheten för temperatur under 0°C eller 32°F, eller för
förhållanden som är varmare än 45°C eller 113°F. Lämna inte enheten i

förrän huden har läkt.
• Om tillståndet varar i mer än 48 timmar bör du kontakta en veterinär.

Dessa steg hjälper dig att hålla din hund trygg och bekväm. En del hundar
är känsliga för kontakttryck. Efter ett tag upptäcker du kanske att din hund
tolererar halsbandet väldigt bra. I så fall behöver du inte tänka på alla
dessa försiktighetsåtgärder. Det är ändå viktigt att du fortsätter kontrollera
kontaktytan varje dag. Om du upptäcker rodnad eller sår ska inte halsbandet
användas förrän huden har läkt ut helt.
Halsbandet med skallbegränsare får endast användas på friska hundar som
är mer än sex månader gamla. Vi rekommenderar att du tar hunden till en
veterinär innan halsbandet används om hunden inte mår bra.

Så här fungerar det
Fjärrdressyrhalsbandet Sprejskallbegränsare är konstruerat som hjälpmedel när du dresserar din hund
samt för att kontrollera okynnesskällande. Dess lugnande effekt gör att hunden enkelt och tyst anpassar
sig till omgivningen och ger ägaren lugn och ro.
Sprejskallbegränsare är mycket effektivt, eftersom det distraherar djurets primära sinnesintryck på ett
ofarligt och smärtfritt sätt. Systemet fungerar automatiskt och kräver ingen mänsklig intervention. Din
hund kommer att sluta skälla när den bär halsbandet. Men effekten av Sprejskallbegränsare är dock
inte permanent. Om du slutar använda halsbandet kommer hunden till slut att börja skälla igen. För att
minska skällandet permanent, utan att behöva använda halsbandet hela tiden måste du kombinera
sprejhalsbandet med korrekt träning och beteendemodifiering. Mer information om detta ämne finns på

Justera halsbandet till sprejenheten
1. Ta bort hållaren från det svarta halsbandet (A). Trä det svarta halsbandet (B) genom sprejenhetens
(C) öglor. Sätt tillbaka hållaren på halsbandet (D). Hållarens svängda kant ska vara vänd inåt.
2. Mata in den lösa änden av halsbandet i springan på spännet som är närmast PetSafe®-logon
bakifrån och framåt (E). Trä sedan den lösa änden av halsbandet genom springan på utsidan,
framifrån och bakåt (F). Den lösa änden ska nu hänga på utsidan. Trä sedan på hållaren (G). När
du har slutfört detta avsnitt ska halsbandet se ut som på bilden (H).
Ta av alla andra halsband som hunden bär och sätt sprejhalsbandet runt dess hals.
Se till att sprejventilen är riktad mot nosen. Justera halsbandet så att det sitter som ett
vanligt halsband. Du ska ledigt kunna föra in två fingrar mellan hundens hals och
sprutanordningen (I). Vi rekommenderar att halsbandet kontrolleras regelbundet för
att se till att det är justerat som det ska.
Obs: Om dessa instruktioner inte följs ordentligt kan spännet lätt dras av halsbandet.
Då kan enheten skadas eller tappas bort.
Se till att vänja hunden vid enheten innan du börjar använda den. Vi
rekommenderar att hunden bär i 4 till 5 dagar innan du sätter i batteriet och fyller
sprejenheten. Vi rekommenderar också att du under denna tid ofta tar av och sätter
på halsbandet igen.
Fylla sprejenheten
Sprejskallbegränsare har en genomskinlig behållare med en nivåmarkering för att lättare se när
behållaren håller på att bli tom (J).
1. Placera enheten på en plan yta med påfyllningsventilen (det djupaste hålet) vänt uppåt (K). Skaka
sprejflaskan innan du använder den.
2. Håll flaskan uppochned och sätt in aerosolspetsen i påfyllningsventilen (L) – tryck ned hårt i 10
sekunder (M). Släpp trycket och tryck sedan ned igen i ytterligare 10 sekunder innan du släpper.
Obs: Om sprejen läcker ut när du försöker fylla enheten måste du trycka nedåt hårdare med refillflaskan
för att täta bättre mot behållaren. När behållaren är helt full ska det finnas tillräckligt med gas i enheten
för 18-23sprejningar.

Sätta i batteriet
Batteriluckan sitter på samma sida som påfyllningsventilen (N). Ta bort batteriluckan genom att vrida den
och sätt i 3-voltsbatteriet (med pluspolen först) (O). Vrid på locket igen (ett mynt kan användas för att ta
av och sätta tillbaka locket) (P).
Obs: Om den röda lampan blinkar tre gånger i rad är batteriet i halsbandet svagt och behöver bytas ut.
Sätta på enheten
Tryck på den grå knappen på framsidan av enheten (Q) för att sätta på den. Den
gröna lampan blinkar en gång för att visa att enheten är på. Den gröna lampan
blinkar med några sekunders mellanrum. Enheten, som redan är inställd på kort
sprejläge, är nu klar att användas. För att ändra till lång sprejning trycker du en
gång på samma grå knapp. Den gröna lampan blinkar två gånger för att bekräfta
den nya sprejinställningen. För att gå tillbaka till den kortare sprejningen trycker du
en gång på knappen igen. Den gröna lampan blinkar en gång för att bekräfta ändringen. Du kan växla
sprejinställning när du vill genom att bara trycka på den grå knappen.
Stänga av enheten
För att stänga av enheten trycker du på den grå knappen tills den röda lampan blinkar två gånger. Den
gröna lampan slutar blinka.
Obs: Det är bäst att testa enheten före varje användning genom att blåsa i mikrofonen.
Justera sprejhalsbandet på hundens hals med start-/avstängningsknappen utåt och
påfyllningsventilen och batterilocket nedåt (R).
Ditt Sprejskallbegränsare kommer nu att reagera när hunden skäller. Genom träning
i tillägg till användning av enheten kan du snabbare uppnå och förstärka den
önskade beteendeförändringen.

Rätt och fel användning
• Halsbandet ska endast användas under perioder då hunden “okynnesskäller” och inte längre än
åtta timmar per dag.
• Halsbandet måste vara helt fyllt innan det placeras runt hundens hals.
• Fyll aldrig enheten medan hunden har den på sig eftersom påfyllningsventilen kan skadas.
• För att säkerställa att hunden inte gör någon koppling mellan dig och sprejhalsbandet ska du inte
låta hunden se dig förbereda det, varken för det första försöket eller för fortsatt användning. Var inte
i närheten av hunden varken när du förbereder enheten eller när du fyller på den eller byter batteri.
• Det är viktigt att hundens päls inte blockerar sprejventilen. Prova med att knyta en snusnäsduk runt
hundens hals och placera sedan sprejhalsbandet ovanpå den. Om det behövs måste du kanske
även överväga att klippa pälsen runt hundens hals för att få bättre sprejeffekt.
• Ta bort alla andra halsband med delar eller brickor av metall. De kan skapa ljud som kan aktivera
sprejmekanismen i onödan.
• Fäst aldrig ett koppel i Sprejskallbegränsare.
• Undvik att låta hunden ha enheten på sig med tom behållare. Se till att den alltid är full.
• Stäng AV enheten när den inte används.
• Systemet får endast användas på hundar som är mer än sex månader gamla. Om din hund är
skadad eller har andra problem med rörligheten ska du kontakta en veterinär eller professionell
tränare före användning.
Viktiga anmärkningar
1. Enheten är ingen leksak. Förvara den utom räckhåll för barn. Använd den endast i dess
skallstoppande syfte.
2. PetSafe®Sprejskallbegränsare får endast användas på friska hundar. Vi rekommenderar att du tar
hunden till en veterinär innan halsbandet används om hunden inte mår bra.
3. Anti-skallhalsbandet är stänkskyddat, men inte helt vattentätt. Ta alltid av det när hunden vill simma.
4. Håll alltid enheten ren. Sänk inte ned den i vatten vid rengöring. Använd bara en torr trasa för att
torka av smuts.
5. Lämna inte enheten utan uppsikt där hunden kan komma åt den och skada den genom att tugga på
den.
6. Se till att batterierna du använder fortfarande är tillräckligt starka för att driva enheten. Enheten
kräver 3-volts CR2-batterier som enkelt kan beställas från PetSafe®.
7. Mikrofonen är kalibrerad så att den inte ska aktiveras av ljud i närheten. Att en annan hund på nära
avstånd skäller kan dock göra att enheten sprejar.
8. Fyll aldrig enheten med något annat ämne än det som tillhandahålls av tillverkaren. Om något annat
ämne används, liksom om enheten öppnas, gäller inte tillverkarens garanti.
9. Om hunden försöker ta av sig enheten kan en sele användas istället för det medföljande halsbandet.
10. Den hypoallergena sprejen är en trycksatt behållare. Den får inte punkteras, värmas upp eller kastas
i eld, eftersom den kan explodera.
11 . Utsätt inte enheten för minusgrader, eller för förhållanden som är varmare än 45°C. Var särskilt
noga med att inte lämna enheten i direkt solljus, t.ex. i ett fönster eller i en bil när det är varmt och
soligt.
12. Försök inte själv att reparera enheten. Det kommer att göra garantin ogiltig och försvåra
reparationer. Ring vår kundsupport om sprejhalsbandet inte fungerar.

• Do not ingest. In case of accident, seek medical care. If swallowed seek
immediate medical advice.

Do not expose the device to freezing temperatures -32°F or 0°C or to
conditions warmer than 113°F or 45°C. Do not leave the unit in direct sunlight.
Never leave the unit in a car where the device can heat up to high temperatures
113°F or 45°C.
The Bark Control Collar is not a toy. Keep it away from the reach of children.
Use it only for its bark stopping purpose.
Risk of skin damage. Please read and follow the instructions in this manual.
Proper fit of the collar is important. A collar worn for too long or made too tight
on the pet’s neck may cause skin damage. Ranging from redness to pressure
ulcers; this condition is commonly known as bed sores.
• Avoid leaving the collar on the dog for more than 12 hours per day.
• When possible, reposition the collar on the pet’s neck every 1 to 2hours.
• Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure; follow the instructions in
thismanual.
• Never connect a lead to the electronic collar.
• When using a separate collar for a lead, don’t put pressure on the
electronic collar.
• Wash the dog’s neck area and the contact area of the collar weekly with a
damp cloth.
• Examine the contact area daily for signs of a rash or a sore.
• If a rash or sore is found, discontinue use of the collar until the skin
hashealed.
• If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.
• For additional information on bed sores and pressure necrosis, please visit

These steps will help keep your pet safe and comfortable. Some pets are
sensitive to contact pressure. You may find after some time that your pet is
very tolerant of the collar. If so, you may relax some of these precautions. It is
important to continue daily checks of the contact area. If redness or sores are
found, discontinue use until the skin has fullyhealed.
The Bark Control Collar must be used only on healthy dogs over 6 months of
age. We recommend that you take your dog to a veterinarian before using the
collar if he is not in good health.

How It Works
The Spray Bark Control was designed to assist you in training your dog and controlling his nuisance
barking. Its comforting effect allows dogs to adapt easily and quietly to their environment while providing
peace of mind to their owners.
The Spray Bark Control is highly efficient because it distracts the animal’s primary sensory perceptions
in a harmless, painless way. The system works automatically and requires no human intervention. Your
dog will stop barking while wearing the collar. However, the effect of the Spray Bark Control is not
permanent. If you stop using the collar, your dog will eventually resume barking. In order to reduce
barking permanently without constantly using the device, you will have to combine the spray bark collar
with proper training and elements of behaviour modification. For more information on this particular topic

Adjusting the collar to the spray device
1. Remove the keeper from the black collar (A). Pass the black collar (B) through the loops of the spray
device (C). Put the keeper back on the collar (D). The curved edge of the keeper should face inward.
2. Feed the free end of the collar into the slot of the buckle that is closest to the PetSafe®logo, from the
back to the front (E). Then, thread the free end of the collar through the outside slot, from the front to
the back (F). The free end should now hang on the outside, then thread the keeper (G). When you
have completed this section, the assembled collar looks as shown (H).
Take off all other collars your dog may be wearing and place the spray collar
around his neck, making sure the spray valve is directed toward the snout. Adjust
the collar to fit like a regular collar. You should be able to easily pass two fingers
between your dog’s neck and the device (I). We suggest that you check the collar
regularly to make sure that it is well adjusted.
Note: If these instructions are not properly followed, the buckle can easily be pulled
off the collar. This could lead to the device being lost or damaged.
Your dog must get used to the device before you actually start using it. We suggest
that you make your dog wear the Spray Bark Control 4 to 5 days before inserting
the battery and filling the device. At the same time, we also suggest that you remove
and put the collar back on your dog frequently.
Filling the device
The Spray Bark Control has a see-through reservoir with a level indicator to help you see when your
reservoir is getting empty (J).
1. Set the device on a flat surface with the fill-up valve (the deepest cavity) turned upwards (K). Shake
the spray can before using it.
2. Hold the can upside down, then insert the aerosol tip in the fill-up valve (L) – press down firmly for
10 seconds (M). Release pressure and press down for another 10 seconds, then release.
Note: If spray is escaping as you attempt to fill the device, increase the downward pressure on the
refill can to get a better seal. When completely filled, there should be enough gas in your device for
18-23sprays.

Inserting the battery
The battery compartment is on the same side as the fill-up valve (N). Remove the battery cover by
twisting it and insert the 3-volt battery (the + end first) (O). Twist the cover back on (a coin can be used to
help you remove and put back the cover) (P).
Note: If the red light flickers three consecutive times, the collar battery is low and needs to be changed.
Turning on the device
To turn on the device, press the grey button on the front of the device (Q). The green
light will flash once, indicating the power is on; the green light will flicker every few
seconds. Your device, already preset in short spray mode, is now ready to function.
To change to a longer spray, press the same grey button once. The green light will
flash twice to confirm the new spray setting. To go back to the shorter spray, press
the button once again. The green light will flash once to confirm the change. You
can switch spray settings at will by simply pressing the grey button.
Turning off the device
To turn off the device, press the grey button until the red light flashes twice. The green light will no
longerflicker.
Note: Before every use, it is best to test the device by blowing into the microphone.
Adjust the spray collar onto the dog’s neck with the on/off button facing outward
and the fill-up valve and battery cover facing downward (R).
Your Spray Bark Control will now react when your dog barks. Training, in
addition to the use of the device, will accelerate and consolidate the desired
behaviour modification.

Do’s and Don’ts
• The collar should be worn only during periods of nuisance barking and no more than eight hours
perday.
• The collar must be filled to maximum capacity before placing it around your dog’s neck.
• Never fill the device while your dog is wearing it because it may damage the fill-up valve.
• To ensure that your dog does not make the connection between you and the spray collar, don’t let
him see you prepare the device, neither for the first try, nor for subsequent use. Keep your dog away
while you prepare the device as well as when you fill it or change the battery. A B C
• It is important that your dog’s hair doesn’t block the spray valve. Try tying a bandanna
(handkerchief) around your dog’s neck, then place the spray collar over. If necessary, you may also
consider trimming a little of the long hair around the dog’s throat for better spray effect.
• Remove all other collars with metallic parts or tags. These could create noise that may needlessly
activate the spraying device.
• Never fasten a lead to the Spray Bark Control.
• Avoid letting your dog wear the device with an empty reservoir. Make sure it is always full.
• Turn OFF the device while not in use.
• The system should only be used with pets who are over 6 months of age. If your pet is injured or its
mobility is otherwise impaired, contact your veterinarian or professional trainer before use.
Important Remarks
1. This device is not a toy. Keep it away from the reach of children. Use it only for its bark-
stoppingpurpose.
2. The PetSafe®Spray Bark Control must be used only on healthy dogs. We recommend that you take
your dog to a veterinarian before using the collar if he is not in good health.
3. The Bark Collar is splash proof but not completely watertight. Remove it each time your dog wants to
go for a swim.
4. Keep the device clean at all times. Do not immerse it in water when cleaning. Simply use a dry cloth
to wipe away dirt.
5. Do not leave your device unattended where your dog could get a hold of it and damage it
throughchewing.
6. Make sure that the batteries you are using are still adequate to operate the device. The device
requires 3 volt CR2 batteries, easily available from PetSafe®.
7. The microphone is calibrated so it won’t be activated by nearby sounds. However, the barking of
another dog at close range could cause the device to spray.
8. Never fill the device with any other substance than the one provided by the manufacturer. Using
another substance, as well as opening the device, will void the manufacturer’swarranty.
9. If your dog tries to take off the device, a harness can be used instead of the collar provided in the kit.
10. The hypo-allergenic spray can is a pressurized container. Do not pierce it, heat it or dispose of it in a
fire as it may explode.
11 . Do not expose the device neither to freezing temperatures nor to conditions warmer than 45°C. Be
particularly careful not to leave the device in direct sunlight, either by a window or in a car on a
summer day, etc.
12. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. This will invalidate the warranty, and make repairing
more difficult. If the spray collar doesn’t work, call our customer service centre.

Separate collection of spent batteries is required in many regions; check the regulations in your area
